Hi all, so I had a 3rd degree tear 16 weeks ago, was taken into theatre straight after delivery to be sutured up.. everything has healed fine, I don’t think I ever really felt the seriousness of the damage life just carried on as normal (just tried to take it easy...as easy as you can with a newborn & a toddler) all my stitches seemed to heal I had a few white coloured ones come out but all felt ok, I still have one stitch though under the skin towards my back passage which appears black in colour, it’s really irritable and abit sore when I wipe, is it normal for the back passage stitches to take longer then the others? Or should I be thinking of seeing my GP? I don’t want to make a mountain out of a molehill but I don’t want to assume it’s ok and In the future the dr tell me I should have told them...
If I’m honest I’m abit nervous of having future surgery If it would be needed because it doesn’t feel like there is a lot left in terms of perineum.
I had my consultant checkup about 5 weeks ago and she said everything looked fine but I think the stitch isn’t very obvious to someone else. And I didnt really pay much attention to it until today.
If anyone has had any similar experiences or advice I’d love to hear it!
