Hello my baby is 3 days old. Iv been feeling fine all day and went shopping. When I got home my legs were a little achy but thought it’s my first outing maybe I just walked too much. Iv had some random pains all over my body but they have stopped now, since I got into bed Iv been feeling shivers and chilly and my boyfriend said he was hot and asked to put the fan on!!! I decided to check my temperature with an in ear thermometer and Iv checked twice and my temp is 38.2, I don’t feel poorly or have pain anywhere. I just feel cold. It’s almost 9pm so if I did have to call anyone it would be the ward at th hospital where I had my baby.... my milk came in today so my breast are very sore and swollen can this cause a high temperature? Also my bleeding hasn’t changed

Call the post-labour Ward and ask their advice. I had an infection which started off mild but got progressively worse as it was left untreated. Look after yourself as much as the baby.

Might be mastitis. Definitely get yourself checked.

Speak to maternity triage or the postnatal ward urgently.

It's unlikely to be mastitis if your milk is only just coming in, but you may have an infection from birth. This is potentially serious and needs monitored.

How are you feeling today?

I would see the GP today if you've had a fever and chills to rule out infection.
