Hi All,

I have an emergency c-section 9 weeks ago and I can’t feel the bottom part of my tummy. Is this normal?

Also, i had to inject myself in the tummy for 6 weeks post birth and even though I haven’t been taking the injections for 3 weeks now my tummy still really hurts when touched, such as when DD kicks me when I am changing her nappy.

Will it get better?

They say the feeling comes back after about 2 years........mine did after about 18 months. Not full sensation just a bit more feeling

I had my EMCS 14 weeks ago and am numb for 2.5 inches above the incision and about 2 inches below. It also hurts when my son kicks me!

I've had two sections, one three years ago and the other 14 weeks ago. I never regained complete feeling from the first section and had occasional twitches of pain throughout that time.

You are still really early in the recovery process, so take it easy. I think it's meant to take a year to fully heal

No idea if had any effect or not but the French Neonatologist in NICU told me to massage around my scar as soon as it was healed. She swore it had worked for her (3 sections I think) and I got full feeling back very quickly. Was weird how it came back though, you could pinch the left hand side and it hurt on the right for a bit but 3 years later, it's completely fine. Second section coming up next week, will be trying it again to see if it makes a difference or I just got lucky last time.

My youngest DC is 10. I realised a couple of days ago that the bottom of my tummy (above the scar) is still a bit numb!
