Stomach muscles

Little one is now 4 weeks old.
During one of his weighing sessions the midwife checked my tummy and said to mention when I have 6 week check with GP to mention stomach muscles as they were separated.

I did wonder why they were feeling weak but put it down to giving birth (first time mum)

I noticed today when I tense my abs you can clearly see the right side tenses and are working however the left side doesn't move. Is this to do with the ab separation? It looks very odd! Hmm

I was a sporty child and still sporty up until pregnancy so had a good set of abs before pregnancy.

You could get 3-4 fingers width between my separated stomach muscles after DC2. I was referred to physio which never materialised, and the problem seemed to right itself itself over the years. I have had back problems on and off though since so I suspect I have a weak core which is related?
Do mention it to the GP.
