Postpartum Bleeding

Hi all Smile So I gave birth to my third bundle of joy 9 days ago Grin
About 5 minutes after delivering baby and placenta I had a big bleed which they managed to stop by putting something in my catheta (they expected me to gush because of how large my uterus grew during pregnancy)
Since then bleeding has been normal, gradually slowing down and has gone brown which would indicate old blood. Until yesterday (8 days PN)!! I left the house for the first time and put my double buggy to use and went for a walk around town. It was maybe an hour long walk all together with coffee shop and breastfeeding breaks in between. During my walk I noticed a lot of lower abdominal aches and pains. When I got home I noticed my pad was full of bright red blood Confused
It’s slowed down again today but still looks like bright red, fresh blood!
Should I not have gone for the walk yesterday? I’m worried I’m pushing myself and not giving myself time to heal. I feel as fit as a fiddle and back to my usual obsessive cleaning up after my 3 boys but obviously there’s still a lot of healing I have to do inside?? Hmm
How long did you guys give yourself to recover after delivery? What was normal when it came to bleeding for you? Im kinda worried about haemorrhaging Blush

I've only got the one baby but similar to you I had brown discharge around one week after birth, but whenever I did too much it changed back to bright red and could get quite heavy again. My midwife told me it's my body's way of saying slow down. A hour walk 9 days after birth was maybe just too much? I tried to restrict myself to 30minutes bouts of activity after a few days of gushing...my bleeding stopped after about 2.5 weeks. Xxx

I'm 14 days pp and still getting red blood too especially if I'm doing more than usual (although still don't feel like I'm being particularly active!!) I do also have days where I have hardly any or it can be brown for it to be heavier and more red the next day.. I mentioned it to midwife yesterday who said that's apparently normal..
