Back seizing up at night

After I had DD1 I occasionally suffered with waking up to find my back had seized up and excruciatingly painful to move, but once I moved it would be fine a few minutes later. Annoyingly it would be worse when I would be having a good nights sleep so would be lying in the same position for some time. Also experienced similar pain when stood up on the train,

Anyway, when I got pregnant again and should have been experiencing aches and pains, this particular problem went away!

Now I have had DD2, it has come back a couple of times. Saw GP about something else and mentioned this while I was there, she said strange that I got the pain when NOT pregnant but to see physio if it keeps happening

Anyone else had this problem?

I can't help you with what it is but I also have a back problem that went away during pregnancy and then came back. My GP said it's very common - a combo of relaxin plus painkilling hormones can resolve all sorts of long-standing issues for the duration of a pregnancy. Nature's way of keeping the mother safe and mobile during pregnancy. Hope you get it sorted!
