prunes prunes prunes or get some senna.

I’m 3 weeks post CS - so I have recent experience of this!. Drink lots of water and it’ll happen. I’m on iron tablets which really didn’t help. Get Fibogel and or lactulose and you’ll be fine. Good luck!

I was wearing a huge sanitary pad in my pants to protect my scar at this point. Hold it against yourself tightly when you need to go.
This made me feel much more 'reinforced'! Consider raising your knees up too so you have to push as little as possible!

I ended up using glycerol suppositories. You can get these OTC from Boots. I simply couldn't push as it was too painful and I was so blocked up Sad

BeyondThePage · 16/03/2018 14:20

Take Laxido and plenty of water.

MustBeThursday · 16/03/2018 14:21

I took lactulose. But it's a fine balance between too much and not enough Grin

VioletteValentia · 23/03/2018 07:48

Glycerin. Used it for days after my CS

MsJolly · 23/03/2018 07:49

Fold your arms over your tummy and squeeze! Helps hold everything in and your muscles to push a bit. And lactulose!

Stillgameforalaugh · 23/03/2018 07:52

It took me weeks to get back to normal. I kept getting impacted almost. I remember being stuck in the loo at my sisters wedding with an enormous poo that would budge. That was 4weeks after the section. 😀

Eatsleepworkrepeat · 23/03/2018 07:54

Roll up a hand towel and gently push against your scar while on the loo. Drink lots of water. Google the best sitting position. Good luck!

vroc81 · 23/03/2018 08:00

Good luck. I definitely thought it was worse than giving birth.

vroc81 · 23/03/2018 08:02

.. although just seen the date of your post so suspect you’re over it now! Grin

Moussemoose · 23/03/2018 08:02

I was so proud of my post section turd I wanted to take it home.

clairerow7 · 23/03/2018 08:47

Haha, I am yes! It was the worst experience of my life to date!!

I finally went after about 4 days post section about 6 days since I'd last been. Was still in hospital and climbing the walls in agony, begging for a suppository. Finally got one and managed to go after walking around all night
I feel your pain, it's an experience I'll never ever forget, agony.

missrabbit23 · 23/03/2018 09:36

OMG u poor women I remember my first poo after cs it was emotional painful and draining to say the least but some laxatives it's the only way it's gonna happen! Hope all goes well! Don't strain that's just gonna cause piles and trust me u do not want piles!!

Appuskidu · 23/03/2018 09:39

My midwife told me to poo in a warm bath!

clairerow7 · 23/03/2018 10:22

Why have me nothing and didn't even ask if I had been before they discharged me! Was horrendous, really horrendous!
Will know for next time... take loads of laxatives and more!!

Raise your feet using a stool or some books, this really helped me. And put gentle pressure on your tummy.

pimlicolife · 23/03/2018 11:45

I would really recommend getting Movicol. You can get it over the counter at Boots. It works wonders unlike Lactulose! It's really helpful to just take it every now and again over the first few weeks to keep things from being as bad as the first one!
