Advice please. Had section 6 weeks ago. Wound not healing fast but not red or sore. Tonight I felt 'wet', checked and wound has opened up about 2 inches and is bleeding. I didn't feel it 'go' and it's not painful.

Is it worth contacting out of hours GP tonight or just call first thing in the morning ? Thanks

I had my c section 5 weeks ago and I’m in a similar situation.

How much blood is there? I spoke to HV and GP about it and neither seemed concerned and told me to clean and dry it regularly. But there isn’t much blood with mine and it’s been doing it for a while, not all of a sudden.

I’d get it checked out. The last thing you want is it getting infected!

Thanks Evonne. Wound has been weeping pretty much non-stop but this is the first time it's bled.

I've been trying to keep it clean and dry but I'm quite low on my list of priorities at the moment Confused

I currently have a folded Maternity pad over the wound to keep it dry - luckily my overhanging, flabby belly is keeping it in place Blush

6 week check is not until Tuesday. I'll keep an eye on it and make an appointment if it gets worse.
