Hi all,

I had planned cs 4 weeks ago and my scar was healing really well. Now it seems to be getting a little sore and red. Wondering if anyone has any tips to help it heal better??
I try lying down to let fresh air get to it and ensure it is fully dry after my bath or shower.....but other than this anything i can do?
TIA.

Keep a very close eye on it and if you are at all worried see your GP. Infections caught early are easier to manage.

Wash with clean water only, no shower gel. Put a sanitary towel in the "fold" to ensure the skin dries properly after a shower.

Make sure your underwear isn't rubbing on it.

You could try antiseptic cream if you think it's a small skin level infection.

My friend said about a sanitary towel....wasnt too sure. Seemed like it might rub.....not tried, but may try it.
I have put a little dettol in my bath water but use no soap on that area.
Still wearing big pants so can't be that??

I dried mine with the hairdryer after a bath or shower, then put a sanitary towel on it afterwards.

Hopefully yours will improve soon Flowers

Use a separate flannel to wash and dry, I also used bio oil as I found the skin rubbed - if it's hot or red I'd go and get it checked ASAP - good luck Thanks

I would get it checked at the Drs. I had to have antibiotics as mine got red and infected. It was clear very quick with the antibiotics.
