Contraception post birth

I have my 6 week check next week following the birth of my first baby. I’m breastfeeding so have been advised not to take the combined pill as the oestrogen can decrease milk supply. I don’t like the idea of the coil or injection / implant, so was thinking of the progesterone only pill.

I have pcos though so would this be suitable for that? I was on Yasmin combined pill before pregnancy.

Any advice or suggestions appreciated, thanks

I used the mini pill but unfortunately I bled constantly for months. Bloody awful. Literally.

Oh poor you, that’s not good! I’ve heard the mini pill can do this, or if you’re really lucky you don’t bleed at all! I guess it’s a case of finding one that works for you?!

Cerazette stopped my periods. Have also had the mirena coil and it stopped them too.

I remember my dp at the time said he had never seen something bleed that much and not die! Not a seductive look!!
