Breast fed baby with lots of milk curds and mucus in poo.

Hi,

Our 6 day old breast-fed baby has been having regular milk curd filled poos and some with both curd and mucus in. In fact, this morning's poo was more mucus and curd than poo. Is this normal? I have some lovely photographic evidence if this will help people better understand what it looks like.

Thanks

Yes! At 6 days there will still be some stuff inside them from before they were born to come out. It's either going to be thrown up or poo'd out!

Congratulations Flowers

It might be normal - does baby have cold symptoms? If s/he is sniffly they might be swallowing mucus and pooing it out. I would ask midwife/HV on the phone though!

Normal! Baby might have a cold which = mucousy nappies.
