Breasts really, really ache

I gave birth 10 days ago. I wonder if anyone else experienced this, or whether I should see my doctor.

My breasts are really, really achy. I am breast feeding on demand every 2-3 hours, and the baby is feeding well and draining the breast at most (but not all) feeds. I have some overproduction so I don't usually offer the second breast.

Problem is that my breasts are so, so sore, even immediately after feeding when they are soft. There are no signs of mastitis.

Is this soreness normal 10 days pp, or should this have cleared up by now?

Hiya, have you thought it may be thrush? I also had very sore, achey boobs along with shooting pains from the nipple and have been diagnosed with it by GP this week. May be worth booking a doctors appointment. There's also really good info on it on the La Leche website. HTH Smile
