Blood on breast pad?

I have been expressing breast milk around 4 times a day and Iv been doing this for 3 days now and it does hurt when I do it but I get used to it and it feels ok after a while. My milk wasn't really coming out on the first day but now I'm getting around 30-40ml from each breast on each express. But tonight i noticed some blood on one of my breast pads!!! Is this normal??

Could you have a cracked nipple that has bled slightly?

I only say as I had bleeding, cracked nipples from baby not being able to latch properly.

You need to see where it's coming from. If there is obvious trauma to the breast that bleeding (cut/cracked skin) that's fine. If it's coming out via the milk ducts you need to go and see your GP as that is not normal. Hope you and little one are ok.
