Belly bandit after c section?

Having a c section soon and the gynaecologist recommended that I get a post c section girdle. Has anyone used/recommend/don't recommend? TIA

I hear some people swear by them. Personally though, although i was up and out and about after a week and felt healthy, I couldn't have put that kind of pressure on my belly because it would have hurt too much or felt horrible. I was wearing big knickers after and sticking to leggings and jeggings as they're softer.
My friend was the same. She recommended it but told me that she personally couldn't herself.
