Periods after babies

When did your cycles start becoming more regular again after birth / breast feeding?

I've had one period but nothing now for two months. Not suggesting in pregnant but starting to worry now as I have no idea what's normal after birth/stopping BF.

I have 4 month old twins.

Hello, i had my baby 3 weeks ago and have currently stopped bleeding although i still have some gungey looking stuff still coming out ( sorry ha ha! ) however my midwife did tell me that i can take upto 6 months for you too actually have a period and for them to become a normal cycle again, she also said that you can have what seems like a period but its actually just whats left from the pregnancy, so that maybe what you've experienced! :) hope this helps.

The range of normal is really wide and varied, and is also related to breastfeeding and how much/often you're feeding.

With DS1 I didn't get my period back until about 13 months, and it was fairly regular from the start. This coincided with night feeds dropping off completely. DS2 is 2 months old, and no sign of a period yet - I'm hoping it will be a similar amount of time to last time.

But plenty of women who are breastfeeding can get their period back really quickly.

Had my DD six weeks ago today and my first period started last Thursday and finished today. A lot heavier than what I had pre-pregnancy! I don't breast feed due to no milk. I used to be v regular so will be interesting to see if I get another in 4 weeks.

I stopped breastfeeding a month ago (my baby is 13 months old). I have not had a period yet and no sign of one yet!

With dd1 my period came back after 2 months and was pretty regular straight away. With dd2 it was 4 months but was quite irregular. She is nearly 8 months now and this is the first cycle that feels 'normal' as in ovulation seems to be happening when it's meant to.

Both breastfed on demand.
