thyroxin- when will i feel human again?

hi,

im generally feeling crap. always exhausted, headaches, fuzzy brain, no enthusiasm for anything, just really run down.
had baby 8 months ago. was anaemic at 2 months pp (hb 90, ferritin 7). now still anaemic although this is improving and started taking thyroxin (tsh 50 but t4 normal).

how long til im fixed!? please tell me thyroxin works quickly and will transform me!! i cant carry on feeling this washed out

Thyroxin doesn't work quickly and it can take some time to get the dose right - when did you start taking it? The key is regular blood tests . When is your next one

Sorry twiddle but it's not going to be like that. You need to keep on at your GP to raise your dose after a few weeks. 50mcg is just a starting dose.
You need to educate yourself as well. Look at the Stop the Thyroid Madness and Thyroid Uk websites. Most GPs are clueless about thyroid issues, so you need to push for proper treatment.
