14 day old baby....was jaundice and breastfed, day 5 was admitted to hosp after losing nearly 15% of body weight, dehydrated and treated with lights for jaundice.
Started weeing and pooing fine, lasted 2 days then only 1 poo a day, fri he pooed and had been 48 hours since last one....now we're on 52 hours since last poo. Tried water between feeds, prune juice (recommended by mw) massage, nappy off etc,
Baby been asleep now more than 5 hours. Not interested in milk. (On sma 4oz usually every 3-4 hours)....what do I do?
Midwife due tomorrow so wondering if I just mention it to her? Can't be normal to go this long without a poo?

My hv told me breastfed babies can go days without pooing as milk is so easy to absorb. Definitely mention to Mw, better to be over cautious than have an uncomfortable baby. X

Thanks for reply. He's formula fed now due to his weight loss, I totally lost my confidence feeding him (but that's another issue), was expressing and topping up with formula but past week he's just on sma x
