I know this may be personal but is anyone suffering from anything since their births i gave birth in feb 14 and had a few issues and this sounds terrible but part of me thinks I'd rather be dead then have to suffer with this pain for the rest of my life. since the birth I've had an anal fissure Google it if u don't know I've been using a cream called recto genic and it worked but now it's opened it self up again and the side effects of the cream is chronic headaches and god are they painful. basically a fissure is a tear in the bowel so everytime i have a bowel movement I get bleeding and a sharp pain then after it always feels sore aswell im still using the cream but it doesnt seem to be doing anything now next step for that is botox in the bum.
and the front lady area I found sex incredibly uncomfortable though that is much better now with the help of doctors intervening with vagina dilators yet now im on the biggeat size of it my perineum which is skin bit between vagina and bum constantly has splits on it or grazes.. more so after sex it's like a paper cut i use to get them before but not as bad. my birth ended up with being cut and a 3rd degree tear please tell me I'm not the only one

I really want to have another baby but am so scared about what will happend next time

I shouldn't be having these problems so long after the birth but what with moving house nhs and waiting lists it seems to be going on for ever!!!

@girlmumoftwo hey im doing ok. Had botox done start of dec and dont think its made a massive difference. But i am taking stool softeners so pain is very minimal. How are you? Any progress? Xx

girlmumoftwo · 25/01/2024 10:57

Glad to hear you are doing okay and managing your pain somehow. I too am doing okay, I think much better than usual. I have been exercising 4 times a week and meticulously watching what I eat so I think that has helped heaps. I really want another baby and that would need to be a c section so just terrified of going through it all again!

mumof2bambinos · 25/01/2024 11:48

@girlmumoftwo aww glad to hear! Id say to you dont let these issues stop you from having another bub. I know a lot of people who have gone onto have another baby and its not really affected them much. I would say to you to make sure you keep topped up on stool softeners though during the pregnancy and birth xx

mumof2bambinos · 14/06/2024 16:21

@girlmumoftwo hey just checking in on how you are doing? Hope things are a lot better for you xx

girlmumoftwo · 14/06/2024 16:36

@mumof2bambinos Heya!! So good to hear from you! I'm actually doing well. Haven't had a tear in a little while now and I think it's because I've been eating much better. Bit of trial and error to see what my body digests well so thankfully at a good place. Still scared for another baby though. My doctors have recommended a c section if I ever go down that route.

How are you going? I hope your healing well and enjoying life!

mumof2bambinos · 14/06/2024 18:38

@girlmumoftwo aww am well thank you. Glad to hear youre doing so much better and fingers crossed it stays that way. I just keep retearing so considering botox again to see if it makes any difference. Yeah do c section and stool softeners. I wish i knew this with my first baby. Could have avoided all this

girlmumoftwo · 14/06/2024 18:44

I highly recommend keeping a diary of foods too. Like what to eat when and what you ate and how your stool was. I noticed that if I have my dinner type meals earlier than usual and do intermittent fasting, that has helped alot with my stools!

Definitely go for the botox if it helped like last time. I'm over 3 years postpartum now so maybe finally my body is just adjusting and getting back to a new normal.

Keeping you in my prayers! I hope you can get sweet relief asap!

mumof2bambinos · 19/06/2024 21:50

@girlmumoftwo thank you for this! I might just do that. I was too scared to do intermittent fasting but the more i hear about it i learn that it might actually be good for me. I do hope i find a new normal as i am so dependent on stool softeners at the moment and the pain is still there

Hope youre all settled now!

girlmumoftwo · 20/06/2024 17:25

You got this! I am keeping you in my prayers! May you heal swiftly and may this dreaded pain never happen again. Xx

mumof2bambinos · 27/11/2024 22:09

@girlmumoftwo hello how are you doing? Hope youre in a better place ? Im still suffering xx

girlmumoftwo · 28/11/2024 04:23

@mumof2bambinos So good to hear from you! I'm doing well thankfully. I probably get pain or a re tear a couple of times in 3-4 months now thank God. Honestly toddler is almost 4 now and it's started to feel much better overall. How old is your little one? I'm so sorry you are still suffering. Have you gone to see anyone since or tried anything new? I swear by diet changes and fasting that's Honestly helped me the most. I started taking magnesium for anxiety and sleep as well recently which has given positive outcomes. I'm praying for you xx

mumof2bambinos · 28/11/2024 16:48

Hi so glad to hear your doing so much better! Thank you for even replying. I hope youre getting to enjoy your little one growing up! Mine is 2 and a half now. I have tried magnesium citrate but i am struggling with formed poos. Its like my butt has got used to loose poo that now any size even thin thats formed retears. Can i ask are you ok with passing normal bulky poos?

mumof2bambinos · 28/11/2024 16:48

@girlmumoftwo

girlmumoftwo · 01/12/2024 06:28

@mumof2bambinos

Thank you! I hope you are enjoying your little one, too. It's going by so fast.

I was still struggling when she was 2 unfortunately. That's when I had a colonoscopy which didnt show anything. Women's bodies take 2 years to return to normal after birth and that's without tearing etc so I assume it takes longer for us.
I'm using magnesium glycinate - I used to use a powder which did make it runny which I didn't like.
I am okay with passing bulky ones, at times, there is a slight pain to pass, but no more re tearing. I think once she was 3 years old it overall felt better even when I missed my routine of diet and supplements.

Try some physillium husk to bulk it up a little or try a different magnesium supplement?

mumof2bambinos · 03/12/2024 18:29

@girlmumoftwo hi thank you. I am so glad to hear your in such a better place now. Maybe there is hope for me. I just cant find a way to conquer the bulky poos. I cant even find a pelvic floor therapist near to me. I hope now that you are doing better the thought of expanding your family is more exciting. Xx

girlmumoftwo · 06/12/2024 13:24

@mumof2bambinos

If you have instagram follow coreandfloorrestore. She has amazing tips for pelvic floor.
If I was to expand it would have to a c section as that's what the doctor's have all recommended. But even that is a bit scary.

You could try stop all supplements as well to try and reset your body's natural bowel movements but that might be too painful.

I'm so sorry you are still going through this but there is light at the end of the tunnel!

mumof2bambinos · 14/04/2025 21:39

@girlmumoftwo heyy! How you doing? Hope its all still going well for you. I did have the botox a couple of months ago but doesnt seem like it worked unfortunately as keep retearing😩

girlmumoftwo · 15/04/2025 02:30

Hello!! I'm doing okay thank you for asking! Minimal retears because I've been very strict with my diet.
I'm so sorry to hear you keep retearing :( have you been able to see a colorectal surgeon yet for more options? Especially if you have tried everything it might be best to see if they can help in any way. Thinking and praying for you!

mumof2bambinos · 15/04/2025 08:58

@girlmumoftwo heyyu so good to hear.i think thats the challenging lart. I struggle to keep hydrated etc esp with the kids. And then my stool gets hard and retears. Are you taking any kind of laxatives or softeners? I have been to a colorectal surgeon and they said nothing else can be done as i have had botox twice now

girlmumoftwo · 15/04/2025 10:57

Hydration is very important, I drink 2 litres a day. It's a non negotiatiable for me because I get headaches as well if I don't. Not taking any stool softeners or laxatives for almost 2 years now. There is a surgery that can be done where they make sort of like a flap at the exit with extra skin to stop it from re tearing. I'm surprised they haven't mentioned that? Although the recovery from that would be horrible. Maybe have a look into your gut health? It could be something else like inflammation?

mumof2bambinos · 01/12/2025 12:23

@girlmumoftwo hello how are you keeping now? I hope your all healed fingers crossed. Im still battling it. Constant retears and bleeding

Hello! I am doing okay! Although I need to be on iron supplements because my iron is low, it happens about once every 6 weeks now. Doesn't hurt like before at all though and heals quicker. I am so sorry :( are your stools still hard?

mumof2bambinos · 01/12/2025 21:03

@girlmumoftwo aww am glad your much bettee. Oh gosh iron supplements tend to be constipating on some people so plenty to drink with that. My ferritin is really low but as im struggling with this fissure the doctors have said try and get iron through food. Also somehow i have become prediabetic too so just feel like its neverending nightmare. For quite some time i had loose unformed stools which caused me no pain and then randomly i started getting harder thin stools which cause so many retears and blood. Do you bleed with any of your small retears. Also so grateful that you replied! X

I am so sorry to hear :( I think it might be good to have a colonoscopy too to rule out IBS. I think I have undiagnosed IBS so trying to have a anti inflammatory diet as well. Which has shown positive signs. I do tear with the small retears, now that I take iron too it definitely bleeds more than before when it happens.

mumof2bambinos · 02/12/2025 13:15

@girlmumoftwo i have another follow up in 2 weeks time so i will ask them about the colonscopy for ibs. I keep feeling tightness everytime i retear and the retears happen in different places. I hope we do heal at some point. The bleeding freaks me out!
