Tampons after birth - OUCH!

DD2 was born by ELCS 9 wks ago, period back today, I tried to use a tampon and the pain was incredible! Slightly painful putting it in, very uncomfortable when in and so I tried to take it out and OMG the pain!!! After DD1 I was sore (VB) but nothing like this (I don't think). Anyone any idea why this happens? DH and I have already had sex and it was slightly painful but nothing like this at all, this was eye watering my bad. I hate using pads but I guess there's no option for now?

Can't be of much help sorry. I was back using them after 7 weeks with both (v births). Maybe speak to gp if you're having pain after a section? X

I found tampons uncomfortable for about a year after two c-sections. All fine now, though.
