toro, outch, poor dd! Have you tried using just plain vaseline or aquaphore?

Indith · 07/11/2010 09:04

:( MNT though hopefully you are on the right track now.

Teething is so horrible. That is one part of babies I will be very pleased to see the back of.

Elibean · 07/11/2010 17:16

MNT Sad hope dd better without bubbles, and lots of tlc. Well done for tracking down likely problem - good mummy, not your fault!! You're doing all you can to make it better.

Have utterly done back in (mad, mad, silly me, IS my fault because I forgot what happened last time I stuck a nearly-4 year old on my hip and did it again at a school planting day yesterday, when she got tired and tearful Blush) and am in agony. Can't sleep, can't rest, can't sit at computer to distract myself and feel sick with it. Painkillers barely touch it.

Grrrf.

Elibean · 07/11/2010 17:17

But we did get Guppies (easier than goldfish) today Smile

MNT, my dd1 is Narrator too - but in her case, it couldn't be better: she's thrilled, hates being in the spotlight but loves reading out loud, so its perfect for her. There are lots of upset kids and parents this week though, Nativity roles always seem to upset more people than they please Sad

MNTotoro · 07/11/2010 19:55

Thanks Guys :) DD much brighter today and the soreness has reduced massively so i think she is just v sensitive (in more ways than one - astute castles).

Eli - bad back is the pits. You poor thing. Glad your DD is happy with narrator :) Mine is too, now I've told her it is because she is such a good reader Grin. It means I get a really easy costume to provide too. Have to say that Mary was a surprising choice though Grin

Elibean · 07/11/2010 20:18

Oh good! So glad she's feeling better, in every way Smile

Mary was a very surprising choice in dd's class too, maybe the teachers are trying to instill some, um, Mary-ish qualities into the chosen ones Grin

Indith · 08/11/2010 07:47

MNT that's great :)

Eli :( perhaps you should get dd a T-shirt with "don't pick me up Maman" to remind you.

Dentist today, on my own with the 2 of them. Joy of joys.

jabberwocky · 08/11/2010 13:27

eli, so sorry about the back. I've been there and it's sooo awful :(

Good luck at the dentist Indith! I'm not sure I'll ever take both of mine at the same time again Confused

Ds2 started getting sick yesterday. I think it's just a little cold but his typical fever started last night

castlesintheair · 08/11/2010 14:30

I took all 3 of mine to the dentist at the same time over the summer. Twas a bl**dy nightmare!

MNT, glad things are better. Hope they remain that way.

Just spent the morning sitting on the south circular in the freezing cold as my car over-heated on way to have an MOT then the recovery truck broke down coming to get me!! Just got home and thankfully my lovely friend rescued DD2 from nursery for me. Feel like collecting the DCs from school then putting the "closed" sign in the door for the rest of the winter Grin

Indith · 08/11/2010 15:53

Oh No Castles! I did spot that on FB but was having one of those "which random MNer is that?" moments.

Also spotted on FB that Lenni has had snow Shock Pretty bitter here but not at snow stage yet!

Dcs all bundled up, dd screaming her head off in the buggy as she objected to putting her coat on. Phone rings "did you get a letter?" Erm....no I don't think so. Was the dentist ringing to cancel Angry Letter arrived in the post at lunchtime. Went to toddlers instead :). Try again in a couple of weeks.

Fire on, brownies in the oven. Love it.

Elibean · 08/11/2010 18:46

Poor Castles - that sign sounds good. You could add some of Indith's brownies to the equation, make it even better Smile

Thanks for the sympathy, all soaked up along with massage from dh last night and hot bath, and presto: no pain! Its miraculous - have gone from being quite irritable with dh to thinking he's wonderful Grin

Indith, thats a brilliant idea - may kill two birds with one stone and get the dds painting that T-shirt next time we have a rainy boring afternoon!

I have a school governor's training day tomorrow - would love to cancel, as not really over the shingles yet, but next one is in May and I would have to go alone. Wonder what the odds of not falling asleep in the middle of it are Hmm

Indith · 10/11/2010 13:32

Mmm a dh who massages Envy

Elibean · 10/11/2010 14:31

And cooks.

I could balance the record books with a few of his faults if that helps Grin

Remember the Daddy Pig impersonation? (Vocal, that is, he doesn't actually look like him - yet Hmm)

Indith · 10/11/2010 16:09

Mine cooks but seems to think massage involves digging your thumbs in.

jabberwocky · 10/11/2010 16:18

massaging dh Envy

eli, is this your first bout with shingles? There's a jab for shingles now that you might want to check into. It's such an awful thing to have.

accessorizequeen · 10/11/2010 20:09

glad you're feeling better eli. I still have never watched peppa pig (nor have the dcs!) so daddy pig impression lost on me I'm afraid but you gotta love him for the massage Grin
I'm feeling better too, no panic attacks all week yay. Have put dts in nursery one afternoon a week (they're already in when I work) and mum has ds2. I got my hair cut, twas bliss. Then I had to mop the floors but still...Grin

jabberwocky · 11/11/2010 00:42

Hair cuts are always a good thing! I have been really bad about keeping up with things like that since having the dcs Blush

Indith · 11/11/2010 12:28

Haircuts are great at making you feel wonderful. Sadly they cost far too much! I keep considering the DIY MN haircut but I don't have the guts to do it.

Pissing it down and dd appears to be refusing to have a nap, no fair!

castlesintheair · 11/11/2010 14:32

Well I can top that, I had a couple of hours at the Sanctuary Spa on Tuesday morning. Made up for the car breaking down/enormous bill fiasco anyway Grin

Btw, AQ, I had a panic attack on Monday during said car breakdown fiasco (it's been a while). Glad yours are improving and so is life generally Smile

Indith · 11/11/2010 14:34

sob

MNTotoro · 11/11/2010 17:40

Indith. It will be fine. Dont worry. He wont give a monkeys and a hairdresser will be able to fix it :)

TheDailyWail · 11/11/2010 21:53

MNT - is dd any better today?

Indith, I was considering cutting DD1&2s hair but I think i'll give it a miss now!

MNTotoro · 11/11/2010 22:02

She seems better sometimes and not others Hmm. It's just very sad to see her so uncomfortable. :( I'm going to give it until next week and take her back.

jabberwocky · 11/11/2010 22:49

Indith, sounds like a mullett may be your only option...

MNTotoro · 12/11/2010 08:20

Grin @ mullet
