Congrats to Al and her sis .
Will the new babies make you and hendo broody??? lol

Had a bit of a better night's sleep last night after feeling really tired. Ds woke at 10pm but I gave him a ff and he slept until 4pm. Previously he had been sleeping from 7.30 until 1am ish then bf frequently through the night. I def. think I'd rather have the earlier waking and a solid period of sleep though think that this will prob. drasticaly reduce my bf supply. I suppose that I can't have it always.

hendo77 · 13/07/2010 10:04

LaDiDaDi - that was the reason I ended changing to ff in the night in the end as it was like once she woke up and bf it wasn't enough and she'd be up every coupld of hours. I didn't know if it was my supply, or her being comforted and falling asleep but since going to ff my nights have improved. Last night she woke at 1 and then 545. As those were the only bf I was doing that was the end of that for me!

I have to yes to being a bit broody...!

After yesterday? No way!!!

Niece finally has a name....Emma. She was Amy for a few hours but they changed their mind.

I'm 5ft 1 Lee and nowhere near 8 stone You're doing much better than me.

anniebigpants · 13/07/2010 14:47

Hi ladies, babba asleep so popping on to catch up!.

Congrats to the new aunties Al and Hendo, ive got no sisters on my side but SIL is like my sister, im badgering her to have another baby, her DS is 2.6 now and tantruming galore so thats putting her off having another one at the minute!

Lee-8 stone , im not much taller than you (5,3) and last time i was anywhere near that was when i was 18!
Im doing Slimming World now(started last week, lost 4lb) as have bout 3 n half stone to lose, have started going for hour long walk every day now too.

hendo-Ellis has just started sitting up from lying down, first time he did it was as he woke up one morning, i walked in to find him sitting in his cot smiling and chatting. Past few days he has started standing up in his cot, so we,ve had to lower cot down.

Al-Big hugs to you sweetie, its awful when they just want you, i mean that in a nice way though, its lovely feeling wanted but claustrophobic when you cant put them down.

Gotta fly-DS2 has woke E up from his nap early by shouting! Grr-kids-who,d have em'

anniebigpants · 13/07/2010 14:48

Catherine ate a full yogurt pot sized tub of puree this afternoon (she seems to like the pre-packed stuff better than homemeade but I'm persevering - and at least it'll make holidays easier) She's never eaten more than half before! So hoping for a better nights sleep. She was up at 1am and 5.30am last night!!

Need to get her to drop that 1am feed again...

Getting her weighed on Monday to see if the food is making a difference.

Glad Andrew is doing well Lee. We need new photos of them all soon. I bet they've changed loads!!

hendo77 · 13/07/2010 21:51

Al - Emma's a lovely name! Is this your sister's first? How is she doing? Still no name for my nephew yet...

Lee - that's fantastic that he self settled, long may it continue for you.

Just to make all of you feel better, even if I lost the 8 stone that Lee weighs I'd still weigh more than her . I did go to a netball training session tonight though for the first time in ages which has motivated me to get fit for the next season (and so I can actually fit into my netball skirt...).

Annie - don't scare me with standing up tales!!! Imogen always wants to be standing up when we hold her... I think she should fully master the sitting thing first though, talk about wanting to run before you can walk!!!

Hi all, just marking my place. will write more tomorrow when i have caught up on everyone's news.

BlueChampagne · 14/07/2010 12:54

Hendo - I got DH to try and settle Conrad about 2am last night but that failed too. I think we might have to go back to 2 night feeds and hope he drops one of his own accord. I'm sure he's more stubborn than DS1!

Kingsroadie · 14/07/2010 17:44

Hi everyone. I know I haven't been on in an AGE! Lee posted on another thread I posted on and said to come and visit - which I now am. I have been reading this - wasn't on here much at all for a while but in the last few days have go back on a bit. P's cast/brace and my knee injury and intensive physio have taken up a lot of my time. And TBh I felt all I did on here was moan so decided to stop doing that!

Anyway we're doing well here - P is growing up so fast - her brace comes off in the daytime on Tuesday which is great - 6 more weeks then at night only. she is trying so hard to crawl poor thing - she shuffles backwards across the room and rolls from place to place. she loves all her food and is feeding herselt lots too with finger foods.

Have been out of the loop so long couldn't possibly go through everyone but just wanted to say so glad you and your babes are all doing well. well done everyone!

LaDiDaDi · 14/07/2010 21:15

Hello there stranger!

Really pleased to hear that P is doing so well , hope that your knee is getting better too and the physio is a bit less painful.

Emma is a great name, not really popular right now but a lovely classic choice. Has your nephew got a name yet hendo?

Had a not too bad night last night here and hoping for a good night tonight as ds has had mammoth amounts of milk, both ff and a really long bf.

hendo77 · 14/07/2010 21:16

BlueChampagne - I feel your pain, I really do. I've just decided to leave it for another week or so and then see and maybe try again then... not really holding out any hope though.

Kings - so lovely to hear from you! Hope your knee is getting better now and I bet you can't wait for Tuesday and the removal of P's cast during the daytimes.

Imogen has now mastered sitting up from lying down, but isn't so confident getting back down. In the last half an hour I have had to lay her back down 3 times as she keeps sitting up in her cotbed!!!!

Hi Ethelred!

Kingsroadie · 14/07/2010 21:39

Thanks guys!

Knee progress slow although not AS painful as it was and I now can bend to about 120degrees - has taken me 2 months. still waiting for operaton - not sure when it will be. AND we're in the process of maybe moving house (Obv if it all goes ahead).

Hope all the sleeping goes well LaDiDaDi and well done Imogen!

Hi Kings - good to hear from you again and glad you and P are doing well.

Good luck to everyone tonight with sleeping. Catherine seems to have added the 1am wake up back into our routine recently. She's also gobbling down more food than ever so I'm hoping for a short lived growth spurt. Getting her weighed on Monday so we'll see.

2 weeks till our holiday. Is it silly that the fact that we're going to Pria De Luiz (where Maddy McCann got snatched) worries me?

AmazingBouncingFerret · 15/07/2010 09:31

Ive not been able to get on here for the past few days! No problem with any other thread just all the post-natal ones came up with a blank screen no matter which way I tried to access it!

Since making the comment about elizabeth guzzling all her milk each and every time she has now decided that milk is last season and would rather go without. I have to take her and sit on the stairs just to get some down her!!
She doesnt like it when we leave the room now either, she'll shout and scream till we come back.
Sorry to hear about your bad day Al and hope you are feeling a bit better now?
Good to hear from you Kings, P sounds like she is coming on really well.
Congratulations on the niece and nephews! Im not sure if I mentioned it but my sister got back the test results for all chromosome disorders and by a big miracle they came back clear, we know she is definitely having a girl aswell! She is just having to wait for her scan and she'll know more about the heart condition and how serious it is. So fingers crossed it is minor.

hendo77 · 15/07/2010 09:56

ABF - I had exactly the same problem on both laptop and PC. I cleared the internet history/temp pages etc... completely and it did seem to make it a bit better although I have no idea why it did it and it was v annoying taking ages to load. Brilliant news on those test results and crossing fingers here for you too for the scan

Imogen on the other hand with her milk has decided to guzzle it and then throw most of it back up afterwards. Lovely. Last night I had to change her sheets at 1 in the morning and this morning my pyjamas and sofa have had a hosing down too. I hope it doesn't continue, she's so rarely sick at all I'm wondering if it's teething linked as I think she has some coming through...

OP posts:
AlCrowley · 15/07/2010 10:15

That's fantastic news about the baby ABF! So pleased for you and your sister Not so good about Elizabeth and her milk but I'm sure she'll realise that milk is good again soon.

Having a better morning here - probably because Alex is at Pre school . Picking him up later and then off to visit my new niece. Catherine is going to look massive. Emma is only 5lbs 4ozs!

Kingsroadie · 15/07/2010 10:59

ABF - great news re your sister's baby! Such a relief about that at least.

Lee - I will ski again - I couldn't not but I will not be skiing next season according to both my consultant and my physio. . I am not put off it I think because I didn't do anything to cause the accident, I was just standing in the wrong place. If I had been ragging down a powder field, caught my ski and caused it mysef, I would be a lot more nervous. Plus I have been skiing for 20 years so hopefully that will help - won't know til I try though and chances are I might be pregnant again the season after next as we would like a 2.5/3 years age gap so won't exactly be good skiing anyway - great! Mind you if am still in first trimester will definitely do lots of skiing - I did when I was pregnant with P.

Al - that's rubbish re the 1am wakeupp again - booo. Yes perhaps after the growth spurt she will settle down. teething?!

Hendo - v odd about Imogen too - perhaps it is teething as it can definitely make them a bit sick/out of sorts.

Oooh forgot to say P has two teeth - her two bottom ones. She got the first one 10 days ago and the second on Tuesday. I also had no idea - she is the silent teether - so good of her. perhaps she is used to discomfort and doesn't get upset as much. Or maybe it's just luck this time! She is v frustrated tday and constantly getting up on her hands and knees/toes and tryng to move...

LaDiDaDi · 15/07/2010 11:08

ABF- really pleased to hear about your sister's baby, hope her heart scan has good news too.

Had a rubbish night's sleep, really surprised after ds drank so much milk, in fact I had to change his nappy first thing before breakfast as it was so sodden as he'd drank so much but somehow was still hungry . Feeling a bit headachy tired today but my parents are coming round later so I should get a bit of a break then.

Went into work for an hour or so this morning as they haven't seen ds since he was about 6 weeks, he looked very seriously at them all. Chatted a bit about when I come back in September and what I'll be doing/when my clinics will be. Pleased I went in as it was nice to catch up and made me get my head ready for going back a bit.

BlueChampagne · 15/07/2010 11:54

Hendo - think we're going to have to go back to co-sleeping for a bit so we get some better nights. Then we'll try again too!

Conrad's not really convinced about formula yet. We're combining BF and HIPP Organic follow-on. Read somewhere on MN that they'd changed the formulation and it wasn't as nice (we used it for DS1) - any recommendations?

Conrad can now sit reasonably reliably, has 2 bottom teeth (boy did we know about their acquisition!) and is starting to commando crawl (mostly backwards or in circles).
