breast feeding with implants

Hi Girls,

I am new to all this and wasn't sure where to post this. DH and I have decided that we would like to try for a baby (coil comes out on the 16th June). A concern of mine is that I had breast implants 2 years ago and although I asked my surgeon if I could breast feed with implants and he said yes. I had wondered if anyone on here had experience of breast feeding with implants.

DH is quit excited at the prospect of a large chest.

Oh also want to add that my implants aren't huge, I wear a 30E but look more like a 32C fully dressed.

Thanks,

Luisa

E!!!!

No direct experience, but have 2 friends who both bf successfully with implants

so def possible

as for your dh, he may be less enamoured with the reality of bf in the early weeks
it's all damp breast pads, mothercare bras and cracked nipples

not to put you off, obv
tis a wonderful experience

E isn't big morecrack, I am that you think it is. I am a 32FF and I have had a reduction.

I was a 28J. Now that is big.

Sorry OP, I had many bf ishoos of my own relating the reduction and can't answer your question but good luck.

No implants but I'm currently feeding my second child easily with a 32GG chest.

Is it the size or the implants that's worrying you?

suwoo · 06/06/2010 22:00

Size wasn't an issue here either, I was a 32G when feeding. I just sold my lovely and very supportive Dotty Freya nursing bra's on Ebay.

It's the implants I am concerned about.

It's good to know that some mothers have fed with implants.

I thought I could but I guess it is a bit of a waiting game. I am more optimistic the more I hear of women who have done it successfully. I feel quite strongly that I want to breast feed.

suwoo yes, a 28j is very big. You must have had backpain from the weight. Hope you are happier after the reduction.

Thanks girls

Yes it is possible. I bf my DC for a total for 4.5 years & my boobs look better much more natural now. I am a 34c & had my implants just over 13 years ago.

The most helpful thing with them is that your nipples stick out rather than down, so my DC had an easy latch on.!

When my milk came in my boobs became veiny, massive & hot, but this went in a day or so.

Good luck & hope that helps !

Luisa, thanks yes I am. It was 15 years ago when I was 19. I had more issues of a mental health nature than backache etc tbh. I'm not sure I would have taken it all so lightly at my current age though.

Good luck. BF rocks

MoreCrackThanHarlem · 06/06/2010 22:38

Gosh, suwoo

am a 32D and hate my boobs, they feel far too big
would love to be a B cup really

but J?

hope you are happier with them now

and good luck to OP in ttc

suwoo · 06/06/2010 22:47
