Hello :)

OK, house wise, we are just wanting to move to get in to the catchment for the school B is at for K next year. They were so oversubscribed last year and seemingly there may be issues for 2011 if you are out of catchment - even with a sibling.

So, our house has sold stc, and our offer has been accepted on a house in catchment - actually the garden backs on to the school playing fields!!

We are just waiting on feedback from the Housebuyers Report. I am a bit worried about our house as there are a few cracks here and there and the boiler is on its last legs. So, can't get too excited as yet!

Apart from the housebuying, things are same old same old. We survived the holidays Grin

Mum is doing ok, although she has shingles which started 3 days in to her fortnight cruise :(

Hope everyone else is well. xx

Where are you all????????????????????????

oooggs · 23/09/2010 13:44

here Miss Wink

elkiedee · 24/09/2010 13:53

Hi there SOL, hope the house move works. One of my local council children's centre nurseries is so oversubscribed that my friend who lives on the same road (though at other end 50 houses or so down) can't get her kids in.

D seems to be settling in to school nursery ok though he protests at going and apparently he cried when his CM left with C yesterday.

Has anyone else started new preschool/nursery or are they all continuing with existing ones?

oooggs · 25/09/2010 16:19

elkie - I moved the dts at Easter from the work nursery to the pre school attached to the school, they have just upped their sessions from 3 afternoons to 2.5 days - they are fine - just hope I get them into the same school as ds1 - we don't find out Until 15 April!!!!

Hello ladies. Sorry for being away so long, just seem to be constantly running around but not getting very far most of the time!

Life here is pretty much the same as before.
DS has started in the Junior School and I have to say I was a bit worried about him going as he can be quite timid and doesn't particularly like things changing. How wrong I was! He absolutely loves it there and is really thriving which is lovely to see.
Ffion is in full time nursery now (attached to the infants school) and seems to be settling down nicely. Most days she tells me she doesn't want to go, but she is always fine once I leave her so I think most of the protest is just for my benefit Smile

I am doing fine, still on my happy pills until at least November, but it has definitely done the trick which is great.
I am still working in Cardiff with some extra agency shifts on the side (although I haven't worked much agency lately due to issues with them which are getting on my nerves to say the least).

SOL, hope the house is all ok. Yes, I did get the ferry from Southampton and we will be back that way next August too Smile
Hope your mum is ok with her shingles, my dad had it a few months back and he really wasn't very well so I hope she hasn't got it too badly x

That's it from me, hope everyone is ok. See you all soon Smile

ScarletBandit · 29/09/2010 16:07

Flippin' 'eck! Did I scare you all away? Hmm

oooggs · 29/09/2010 19:16

nope I am about

ScarletBandit · 02/10/2010 09:10

Hi oooggs, how are you?
Can't believe this used to be the busiest thread on MN!

ScarletBandit · 02/10/2010 18:40

I am feeling a bit stressed.

A while ago my dog was found to have two tumours in his tummy. For the last four months he has been really well with the use of steroids, but today he is not so good and so I am thinking we are getting near to the time I have been dreading.

I know I will do the right thing when the time comes, but I don't want to do it iykwim Sad

ScarletBandit · 02/10/2010 18:40

The vet told me back then that he wouldn't go further than another six months at the most so I suppose we haven't done too badly.

oooggs · 03/10/2010 18:45

oh dear how is he today mj?

CaptainDippy · 04/10/2010 19:04

Your poor dog MJ Sad What is the latest?

All ok in DippyLand - applied for Junior school for DD1 and Infants school for P a couple of days ago .... Scary scary stuff!!!!! HmmWinkSmile

Hello.

Well, my dog is still with me Smile
Over the weekend he started to limp on one of his legs, didn't seem in pain, but just couldn't get around properly.

Dh and I took him to the vet yesterday and had totally geared ourselves up for having him put to sleep.
However, the vet we saw was really lovely, and said that there was one more drug they could try as she didn't feel his leg was in any way connected to the tumour issue.
She fully examined him and she didn't think that he was in any pain as he never flinched, so that did make me feel considerably better.

Anyway, we decided to try the tablets and already he seems back to his normal self. He is walking quite easily on the bad leg, and he has only had two tablets so far.

I know that we are already on borrowed time and that he is coming towards the end of his life, but as long as he is well and not suffering in any way I will let him carry on. I am very very happy today Grin

I have also been out for coffee with some friends which was fab, good girly natter!

Hope everyone is well, and thanks for asking after my dog xx

oooggs · 05/10/2010 19:38

coffee, friends and natter always score highly in my book Grin

very pleased about your dog Smile

Hi everyone
Good news about your dog SB, but ikwym about borrowed time :( If he isn't in pain and is happy then that's the main thing.

CaptainDippy · 07/10/2010 20:39

Hey SPB Smile xx

how are things with you dippy?

ScarletBandit · 10/10/2010 13:12

Hi all.

Well, the dog issue rumbles along. Today he isn't so good again and is struggling on the same leg despite his tabs. I have an appointment for him at the vet tomorrow anyway as they wanted him back after a week, so we shall see.
I am being quite objective about it all today, but will probably lose all objectivity when faced with reality tomorrow Sad

Anyway, enough of my woes, how is everyone?
F is doing really well in full time school, although she is really tired doing full days!

Ds is happy in junior school too and we have our first parents evening tomorrow night Smile

That's about it with my lot just now, see you all soon xx

Doobydoo · 11/10/2010 09:08

Hi All.
Thinking of you and your dog today SBSad
It is great that little uns seem to be settling into schools and nursery isn't itSmile
I am waiting for an MRI at the moment so feeling trepidatious.Hope all you ladies are ok.It feels wintry here today....quite festiveGrin

StealthPolarBear · 11/10/2010 09:11

thinking about you both SB and dooby x

ScarletBandit · 11/10/2010 14:11

Well my lovely dog is no longer with me Sad
He could barely even stand up this morning and dh had to actually carry him to the garden for him to go to the toilet, so I know that we have done the right thing.

The vet was lovely, and it was all done very quickly. We stayed with him because I didn't want him to be left on his own and I cried (a lot), but it all went as well as something like this could.

He has been buried at the bottom of the garden already, the only thing I now have to face is telling the children who I know will be upset, but children being children, they will probably handle it all better than I have!

Anyway, thanks for all your wishes and for being nice to me when I needed you, despite the fact I don't visit very often, you really are kind, lovely people xx
