We filled up a thread without even noticing!

Primary school outcome for dd today . They say that the emails will be sent out by 6pm (though may take longer to get through to us).

Have fun, HMM. I would offer to meet up but I don't even know where that is. I'll google.

cf - If you want, on one of your days that you're not in school, Q and I could meet up anywhere relatively nearby.

Pepper - We live next door to a church. They had a garden party from 2pm-5pm today. We don't go to the church but the Vicar lives across the street with his wife and 5 kids and they are just so lovely and asked us to bring our "baby" with us... so we went. Bouncy castle, cake decorating - Q was so happy!

I want to try that shred dvd pistachio - how long is the workout and do you need a big space to do it ?

CSWS - is there a baby yet??? I should just go check fb I guess...
If not, would you like me to come take your beautiful dc out of your hair? I'm just on a course July 1st-5th (in North London, dreading the commute each day). I wish I didn't have to do it, but to be re-licensed with my Teaching Certification from my state in the US, I have to prove 135 hours of professional development over the past 5 years... which I've done, but haven't gotten certificates from all of them, so now need to do a few more courses.

Q has vomited 3 times since yesterday. Once when we were out in the sun for a while yesterday after lunch. Then today after being in the sun then again after going on a walk with dh. I'm thinking it's the sun? But not everyone vomits when they are in the sun and he's not done this before, so I'm confused? It's not very much vomit (cleaned it up with one wipe/paper towel each time), but it's just really strange. Is it a sign of dehydration? He's sleeping loads, too. He napped from 1-4.45 today and just fell asleep for the night 10 minutes ago. Similar length of nap yesterday and a good night sleep, too (got in with us at 1.30am and squirmed around, though - so good for him not me!).

I could do with something like that DVD Pistachio. I'm going to look it up.

Poor Q. I don't know if it would be the sun Star. Doesn't sun stroke make you go all dizzy as well? How does he seem now?

S was at a karaoke party today and he loved it! It was my CM's daughter's birthday party and he had so much fun, dancing away while everyone was singing. Hilarious to watch!

We're having major electrical work done at the moment. Horrible mess. Ugh.

CantSleepWontSleep · 28/06/2010 21:24

No baby yet star - I'm not even late yet, so no chance really! Just had some reflexology to try and help things along though.
Dd is still at school, so no need to take her off my hands at the moment, but thank you for the offer.

Sounds like Q has a bug to me.

ronshar · 29/06/2010 12:16

No baby yet, come on CSWS stop messing about.

Star your poor DH. Did he join the union as it does sound as if a good complaint about this lady is in order?

Pistachio, not too much exercise please. You will do yourself damage.

Pepper & CF, building work is a massive pain in the ass but so worth it in the end.

HMM have a great holiday. Take it easy and relax.

Helloo everyone else. [waving]

StarExpat · 29/06/2010 14:26

DH has PASSED his final observation!!! Since this is the week of an internal audit of his department as well, the Head Teacher was also in there, assessing against ofsted criteria... alongside his assessor for NQT. The Head Teacher said it was very good with many "outstanding elements" (!!!) and assessor said it was "satisfactory" and he passed. YAY!!!
haha she had no choice I bet since the HT was right there and said it was great.

Now, she just has to get a "pass" his PDP folder - this huge binder of evidence and reflection...etc. The Head of NQT in his school said it was looking really good when he saw it, so, fingers crossed! He hands that in, in a few days. Q and I are going to visit him at school after school today since he needs to be back there this evening for a parent's eve.

HUGE SIGH OF RELIEF!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thank you to everyone for listening to me rant and whinge.

KSal · 29/06/2010 15:02

Star, i'm so pleased for you and your DH. it must be such a relief.

CantSleepWontSleep · 29/06/2010 17:40

Yay for your dh star!

Due date today . Predictably no sign of anything happening, but acupuncturist has had a cancellation for tomorrow afternoon so fingers crossed that that can get things moving. Although I could do with being around on Thurs morn to ferry dd around for her first new school visit, which she's v excited about.

OP posts:
StarExpat · 29/06/2010 19:56

Thank you Q and I went to see him for dinner at his school because he has a parent's eve and wanted to see Q for a bit (left before he woke this morning and would get back after he's asleep ). So, I heard another NQT say that dh's assessor was his mentor - meaning he had to meet with her every week. . Apparently, she told him the first day "I'm going to make you cry this year. That's how strict I am". DH has had a lot of stress from her as an assessor but at least he only has to interact with her once per term! She also failed this other guy but not second term, first term, as she got to be his assessor somehow the first term, too. I don't understand why she's allowed to be a mentor and assessor. She makes everyone miserable. On the other hand, at least dh knows he's done very well if she's passed him! As I said, though, she had no choice with the Head in there, saying good things.

Just has to finish his PDP file and then home free!! No more stress of losing his job! I want to strangle this lady. She wasn't there when James was showing Q off to his colleagues. I wanted her to see him with his family so she might have a little insight into how unnecessary the stress she has caused has been when he has a young ds to come home to and wants to spend happy time with. Then I don't think she has children, so she probably wouldn't understand.

StarExpat · 29/06/2010 20:19

csws, knowing you - you could have the baby tomorrow and still go in on Thursday with DD for her first new school visit. I can picture it now - baby in the sling, bfing, D in the pushchair and P's big gorgeous eyes wide and excited about her new school. You, looking like you've had this baby for weeks now... even though it's only been a day

CantSleepWontSleep · 29/06/2010 20:37

star

OP posts:
StarExpat · 29/06/2010 21:28

Sorry, I've actually downplayed your capabilities in that...
D would obviously be bfing on the other side of the sling, also in your arms and P would be the same, but you'd be discussing the books you see in her new classroom together at the same time

coconutfeet · 29/06/2010 21:42

Yippee for Mr Star! What a bloody relief. Amazing that the HT said with was so good and yet she only said it was satisfactory. What an awful woman - I've heard so many stories of bullying teachers recently, it's terrible. If they're this bad with adults, what on earth are they like with children?

at Star's assessment of CSWS!

Electrician has done some really weird things to our lights. I'm not very happy - it looks horrible.

Well done to Mr Star

Myjob unfortunately that is just the beginning. Wait until ds comes home to tell you that his teacher is more beautiful and clever than you are. Then you feel like you have had a knife inserted into your heart
The good side is that ds wont be one of those children in the playground having to be crowbared off mummy's legs! Now that is heartbreaking.

I need help. I saw a newborn this morning at school and my tummy went all funny. Please remind me why I dont want another baby
Although W did do a good job on the way home by screaming because I made him get back into the pushchair!!!

StarExpat · 30/06/2010 13:18

Ronshar/myjob - we were learning about similes and how to incorporate them naturally into our writing and one little boy, when we were discussing examples that we have seen other authors do and trying out our own... said, "my mom... she's like an angel... beautiful and perfect" I nearly cried right there. All the kids sitting in front of me on the carpet!

Q seems to be feeling fine - just the bit of vomit. He hasn't vomited since those 3 times. Each time it was wiped up entirely with just one wipe or paper towel, so it wasn't a lot - it looked just like baby milk spittle... oh my goodness, do you think maybe our milk was off? He had some each morning as we ran out of oat milk.

CantSleepWontSleep · 30/06/2010 14:07

Oh I expect that if you gave him cows milk which he doesn't normally have then it was probably just a very slight intolerance to it still, rather than the milk being off.

What a lovely thing for that boy to say star .

Ronshar - I think that reminding you that babies turn into children was enough to put you off last time. You can come and cuddle my newborn soon instead if you like .

Managed to watch dd's play without going into labour, so only one more task to achieve this week. Acupuncture at 4 though.

ronshar · 30/06/2010 19:23

CSWS I shall take you up on that offer. Just make it soon as I am having my Sinus op on the 22nd of July
Is MrCSWS home yet?

Star, smalls do have the ability to bring you to tears. Mine do but mostly because I am fed up with them.

I am looking forward to W being a soppy boy. At the moment it is pure violent instinct. His speciality is throwing his truck at people now. Plastic ride on truck at that!!!!

oh csws can I come cuddle your newborn, too? They are only so tiny for a very short time, so I don't want to miss that window!

What are they fighting about, myjob? Sounds exhausting!

Ronshar I bet you're excited for that op. Will it mean immediate relief for you?

Q is doing so much repeating of everything that we say and I just love it. He's really trying to communicate like we do. In the past 2 weeks he's been really trying to form the words and sentences that we say. It's so sweet. He finally wants to talk... but won't do it on command or when we want to show off his new skills! Soon, hopefully. We were at a friend's house and I was trying to get him to talk and he wouldn't and he kept pointing to the door, I knew what he wanted (to play with the keys and the door) but I ignored him and finally he said "keys! door! keys door mommy!" lol.

ronshar · 30/06/2010 20:50

Thats it Star. No peace for you now. Give it a couple of months and you will be wishing he would stop talking Clever Q.

Myjob. Is N causing trouble with B? W is beginning to wind up both the girls. Intentionally!
How did B get on at school today?

CSWS, how did P get on at her big school? Or is that tomorrow? Brain pickled, more than normal.

Star I could pick you up on way to chez CSWS(so we can steal away the baby, but then give baby back and leave quickly, especially when it cries) You can come in the tank with W & I.

ronshar · 30/06/2010 20:53

Oh and no not excited about my op. Last time I couldnt get out of bed for four days because my head felt like it was going to explode.
I am fed up because it is the day before the last day of term. Reception always have a big picnic and DH has to go instead. Might not be as fun for H

CantSleepWontSleep · 30/06/2010 21:07

Yes yes, do both come up. Just don't expect me to make you a cuppa - you can make one for me . Will def manage it before 22nd ronshar!
Yes dh is back. School visit is tomorrow (for P and B I think).
Acupuncture done this afternoon - apparently works within 48 hours if it's going to...
