Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
dizzydixies · 27/04/2010 11:23

Hots - its dry at least but I wouldn't go so far as summery must go and hang out washing

springaporesling · 27/04/2010 11:35

Dizz liking all the names but especially Imogen and Beatrice. I have good friend here called Claudia - what is the meaning you've got me interested now.

Yay they are bringing Gruffalo stage show here so off to book tickets as one of DS fave books at the moment.

dizzydixies · 27/04/2010 11:40

ooh the Gruffalo is coming here too but only for 2 days and at REALLY stupid times and I'm working will need to see what I can do.

forgot on the list

Arianna - fell in love with that just after we had D and wished I'd seen it before we had her

Delphine
Seraphine but DH won't have it!

Claudia means lame which is such a shame as its such a gorgeous name

QueenofDreams · 27/04/2010 13:43

Hey dizz also loving the names.
DP is totally stuck on 'elizabeth' or 'catherine' for girls' names. Not that there's anything wrong with them. they're just a little too commonly used for my liking. We only agree on 2 girls names.
We also only have 1 more boys name between the two of us. (not that we've started talking names yet, just leftover from before S was born)
Called doctor yesterday. Appointment booked for tomorrow morning.
Have a poorly Seb here today. Poor boy is streaming snot and has a real barking cough. Almost croupy sounding. He's in a remarkably good mood considering.

QueenofDreams · 27/04/2010 13:47

One of my favourite girls' names is Rhianna. DP won't have it because of Rihanna
ALso love Yvette. Again that one is out.

GreenGardenia · 27/04/2010 13:49

Hi all

cyteen sounds as if yesterday was sad but ok? Hope you and your dp had the chat in the evening & I am sure you felt you had commemorated your db well by having him in your heart & mind all day. Undoubtedly he is J's guardian angel.

Good work loti on not sacrificing your class. Hope AA showed & worked their usual magic.

ds2 has totally gone off gym creche, can't even put him down on the floor in there atm, so am somewhat frustrated for exercise, however took him swimming this morning and he had a fab time, last week & this he's gone right under and just pushes up calmly like a ... well I am not sure, some sleek, wet, calm, chubby thing.

Weather extraordinary, very King Arthur-style round here atm, lots of dragon's breath sort of mist, and a lot of general dampness / greenery / greyery etc.

Re. Gruffalo, I saw this game and The Gruffalo's Child Song and despite my heavy anti-TV etc stance I have to admit ds2 adores them, keeps saying "again please" and popping his thumb in to wait for me to oblige... I am too weak soft to refuse...

dizzydixies · 27/04/2010 15:15

QofD - Elisabeth opens up huge amounts of options though - I love Lissie or Betsy! hope Seb feeling better soon and glad Drs is in the pipeline

Hi VG - well done you on the swimming, if I wasn't so ashamed of suit clad body I'd take D tomorrow however too many people I know take their kids for lessons and the thought of bumping into one of them sends me into a sweat

ironing at least started but A has to go home early today so I've still a tonne to do on my own with all 3 girls serves me right for being a lazy mare earlier on

ladies, Sazz now not due home till tomorrow as the gits frenchy frogs have stolen her car on Sat night and they're having to fly home hope it hasn't ruined their weekend completely

has anyone heard from Oops since she went out walking this morning [eek]

oopsandbabycoconut · 27/04/2010 15:45

Dizz - I'm here still contracting but not painful although walking did egg them on abit. MW suggested raspberry leaf tea - which I am ignoring as it can stimulate contractions (I'm not sure she really has a brain or qualification )

Sazz- how rotten, do you need lifing or ferrying anywhere?? Very and

DD and I went to the new NCT 0-2 group this afternoon it was fun but left me feeling very pushy parent as DD did her best to show off. She ran about shouting four sides mummy it's got 4 sides - so I looked at her wierdly as I had no idea what she was on about and when she eventually stopped and I asked what had 4 side she smiled at me, looked around to make sure everyone else was watching and said 'a square' I could have died right then and there. Someone asked how long I had been coaching her and refused to believe that she is just naturally nosey and ear-wigs on adult conversations far too much. But at toddlers this morning she was a normal 19mo who chased people and yelled 'noooooooooooooo' at me everytime I offered to help. She really is going to be an obnoxious child as she gets older!

Dizzy - love your names. We are down to....... Natasha (DH's fav.) Katya (nn Kitty), Eliana (nn. Ellie) and Helena (nn Ellie) So will jsut have to wait and see her to decide.

Super warm and sunny here, washing on the line, doors open but DD lying on the floor with a new maisy book, 4 teddies and a blanket

GladioliBuckets · 27/04/2010 15:54

Ooh lovely names guys. After talking to my DSis have decided I'm being silly so am not going to buy a test. Sure DH will be analysing me for the next month but serves him right for humouring my silliness. Although plenty of snips have spontaneously healed and plenty of pregnancies have had AFs in them...

LOTI Good work on the saying no front. All men just assume everything's fine unless you are telling them it's not.

dizzydixies · 27/04/2010 16:06

oops I have offered myself and DH, in our capacity of law enforcement peeps, to selflessly attend in Paris to help with the recovery of said veh - Paris polis apparently not too interested VG and I are also getting all Dunkirk in our efforts

lovely names and I agree completely with the wait and see

having said that QofD I'm loving the sound of Seb and Betsy more and more

Buckets - plenty room on the preggy couch with me, Miamla, Queenie and Oops - well esp as Oops almost vacating her spot

lwfhthebagpipeplayer · 27/04/2010 16:07

Red my favourite line came when marking a statistics exam question on coffee as a risk factor for something or other I got an answer along the lines of:

"although I am not from England and so do not drink coffee I assume that it is rather similar to tea"

I like Imogen
I also like Fran for a boy or a girl, and so I think that this is what the next one will be called. DH

Cleaner here no, so need to leap into action. Look at me, leap, leap, leap

No more diarrhoea since yesterday. phew.

dizzydixies · 27/04/2010 16:13

longway - not keen on Fran but only due to an association I once had, I am however pleased that the bottys are on the mend

GreenGardenia · 27/04/2010 16:19

Oooooh next one longway?

at Heathcliff.

lwfhthebagpipeplayer · 27/04/2010 16:32

Yes, the next one, we can start TTC when the current two sleep through the night. So that'll be, um, not for a few years. More seriously, yes I think that we would like more children, just not quite at the moment.

dizzydixies · 27/04/2010 16:34

lovely!!!! although am still waiting on sodding DD2 to sleep through - maybe I should have given this all more thought

CaptainCaveman · 27/04/2010 16:40

And when they are teenagers we will be moaning that we can never get them out of bed

oops I think your mw wants you to rock up to hosp pissed out of your face in advanced labour . She has some very odd ideas!

Loving the names, esp Seb and Betsy

Ds1 (tom) had never forgiven me for not calling ds2 Jerry

dizzydixies · 27/04/2010 16:41

I remember that Cece DD1 wanted DD2 to be called Pinky or Bluey!

GladioliBuckets · 27/04/2010 16:48

Another vote for Betsy or Betty QoD.
Katya for Oops
I like Cleo on its own Dizzy or Cléa.
Et les garcons?

dizzydixies · 27/04/2010 16:49

DH wouldn't let me have Cleo last time but then he wouldn't let me have Dylan for DD2!!!

oopsandbabycoconut · 27/04/2010 16:54

Dizzy - Men are very fickle when it comes names I have found - DH really refised to entertain Katya or Natasha initially as he was fixated on Ellie as a nn but now makes them sound like he thought of them all along He just phoned with Katerina as another suggestion but I'm not so sure about it.

CC - I just wait for my weekly hospital appointment where I see sane midwives and consultants to get my answers.

QueenofDreams · 27/04/2010 17:05

oops Helena was one of my first choices for girl names. Sadly vetoed by DP.
Love Imogen as well.

very very for la famille sazz. How ridiculous that the gendarmes won't do anything. bah.

Need to heave my butt off the sofa and cook Seb's dinner. He's currently amusing himself chucking a lemon around

GladioliBuckets · 27/04/2010 17:42

Oh no just noticed Sazzles's news. Was it the car with the potential diesel/petrol problem after Mr Sazzles' syphoning? Could be a blessing in disguise

dizzydixies · 27/04/2010 18:02

same car buckets, the one with the petrol and crash incident - she loved her car fingers crossed the insurance company isn't wanky about it

Queenie - how about Rhian instead? I love Rhiannon (of course as its a fleetwood mac song) but Rhian is pretty too

QueenofDreams · 27/04/2010 18:17

I used to love Rhiannon until I went to uni with one. She wasn't very nice kind of put me off the name!

dizzydixies · 27/04/2010 19:47

oh lordy have discovered a new sweetie - Galazy counters - they're the round discs out of revels and yum nom nom - don't tell Sazz but DH and I have a bag each
