QueenofDreams · 08/05/2010 20:09

hi again all
loti good to hear you sounding so resolved and firm
CC congratulations on clean shower - my bathroom needs a clean too

Poor S has been sick a few more times today. I got soaked on one of those occasions his temp seems to be back to normal but he's very listless and generally not his usual chatty, lively, active self. He's just been sitting on me or DP not doing a great deal. Hoping he'll be better tomorrow, but now DP is saying his belly isn't feeling too good

oops can I come join you in your heavenly bed? (that sounds bad I know, but my bed is all lumps and springs padded over with an extra duvet)

cyteen · 08/05/2010 20:20

cece CONGRATS on the research proposal, well done you I too have been beavering away for my dissertation thingy next week and feel pretty good about it. Like I might actually be approaching having a point

ROFL also at your shower hideaway. I am totally unsurprised to find fellow Young Ones lovers in you and hotter. What a fine, fine programme it is. Ra ra ra, we're going to smash the oiks! If we ever do this mass cottage rental holiday thingy, we must ensure that DVD copies are brought along for once the kids are in bed.

hotter sorry to hear you've been feeling sad, but pleased it's lifted a bit. Things must have been grim if shoe shopping on a Saturday cheered you up

loti in karmic turn, I am administering wine and treats to you Well, maybe not wine if your stomach is bad...cup of mint tea, maybe?

Special delivery for MrLoti and MrSurfer:

Thanks everyone and especially EloquentGardenia for advice on my clingy boy, I do appreciate it LG I do think mental development has a lot to do with it: he's really leaping along in terms of what he understands, e.g. the last two days he has started saying 'tick tock' every time he sees a clock, and out of nowhere he knows all the actions to songs that were just songs last week. As I probably mentioned, his emotions are also, ah, somewhat stronger So as you say, I think he's finding it all a bit fear-inducing and isn't quite sure how to handle it.

Still, today has been lovely lovely even despite the pissing rain. And now he's in bed and DP and I are drinking strawberry and lime cider. Cheers!

CrispyTheCrisp · 08/05/2010 20:23

Evening

DH just cooking burgers (yummy) and drinking beer (more yummy)

Chuffed as we have finally agreed on two campsites for our Ireland trip and fingers x'd they are not all fully booked

LOTI GO sister GO. You are strong and empowered and he is weak and drinks beer and gets headaches. Nuff said

QoD poor S . Have you checked over for rashes etc?

Am LOL'ing at the wonky lawn stories. Our hortoculturalist neighbour is horrified when ours goes unmowed for weeks. However ours is always lush green and hers a bit patchy

hots hope those pesky hormones are banished for now

Gotta go, tea here.....

hotterpotter · 08/05/2010 20:31

Thanks, am feeling much better now. I think it is a cross between tiredness and general fed-upness of every weekend stuck at home doing nothing because we are too lazy to go anywhere and I want to move house but can't seem to get organised and this house is a mess and the garden is a bit of a mess etc etc etc... but we are off down to Norfolk next weekend and maybe to York the weekend after, then who knows which one of you lot's turn it is to host a meetup

Also don't worry yourselves about the lumpiness of fresh laid turf. We spent aaaaages raking and levelling ours and it's still totally wonky so be glad you didn't try too hard anyway it just makes playing boules that bit more interesting...

TS sorry to hear your DH is being a twit today. At least you are having lovely weather to lounge around in while you him

Queenie I hope S has a good sleep and feels better in the morning

hotterpotter · 08/05/2010 20:36

Feck me there are some fast typers here

Mmmm beer crispy

Mmmmm cider cyteen

I have some rather yummy shiraz calling for me, and Dh has found some of those funny fishes we were on about smoking the other day ...

One of my favourite Young Ones line, repeated by one of us on a weekly basis is "Yes we've got a video"

cyteen · 08/05/2010 20:38

Every time I'm up at the allotment I find myself muttering 'Crop rotation in the fourteenth century...'

Cider's run out, off to get some Belgian beer from the fridge You'll have to smoke me a kipper though hots, naught but the booze here ()

hotterpotter · 08/05/2010 20:48

Rimmer quotes too, cyteen I love you

cyteen · 08/05/2010 20:50

for you

"You know what they say: dirty pants, clean botty."

cyteen · 08/05/2010 20:53

When I get my driving license, I shall come up to see you in my new Ford Tippex

hotterpotter · 08/05/2010 21:02

Thank you, my recovery is complete oh yes hurry up and come soon!

MrsMiamla · 08/05/2010 21:18

evening all
i've just been accused of spending all day on here...would i...really

MrsMiamla · 08/05/2010 21:21

hey LG, i did a stint of working as a secretary... we should have a type-off

oopsandbabycoconut · 08/05/2010 21:23

You all lost me at Young Ones - so I made the mistake of asking DH who has brought out the DVDs - I'm still not sure I get it??

hotterpotter · 08/05/2010 21:26

It's research darling

Forgot to tell you I finally got the v expensive safe car seat so DS is back to being rearfacing and seems to be liking it (after the tantrum when I put him in it for the first time, he didn't think it was a real seat so was screaming and yelling 'caaaar'), he calmed down once we set off though. Even DD thinks it's fab and prefers it to her (also fecking expensive) new high back booster. When we went to the shoe shop this aft (brantano ) she sat in it and had to cross her legs like she was doing yoga

Bless my DH, he is so happy about Leeds. It has come as a bit of a shock actually, in the nearly 16 years I've known him it's the first time they have actually achieved something. I hope my DC don't grow up to like football, poor buggers to be saddled with a love of Leeds

Just waiting for the 20:20 cricket game to finish so we can watch Doctor Who

hotterpotter · 08/05/2010 21:29

Oh I am so sloooow

oops you can't just look at the DVDs, you gotta watch em Do you like violent / bottom related humour? If so you will LOVE it!

oopsandbabycoconut · 08/05/2010 21:32

Oh HP believe me I have been watching them - I am still none the wiser or any further in my understanding - DH on the other hand is going to need MRTena pants if he carries on laughing like he is.

I have just (according to DH) made the best cottage pie he has ever eaten. Next time I won't spend hours on it - this took 35mins from nothing and he is on thirds!

cyteen · 08/05/2010 21:35

Miamla I used to be a medical secretary for someone with an impenetrable Indian accent. I would slay you

oops there is no explaining the Young Ones really, it's an instinctive love it or not vibe Basically, you have to enjoy the most juvenile, dumb ass shit there is. I suspect you are over the highbrow threshold if you've watched it without rofling.

MrsMiamla · 08/05/2010 21:49

cyteen i accept your challenge but leave you tool belt at home

young ones=hilarious!

I'm getting good at smuggling the laptop upstairs...now in bed again with it

cyteen · 08/05/2010 22:27

Ooh, I think I might have found my wedding shoes. Have been looking for an apple green pair but can't find anything suitable, more's the pity. I tried these on in a different colour and love them, they're so comfy as well as gorgeous, but not sure they go with the dress...plus IC no longer have my size...gah.

TwilightSurfer · 09/05/2010 02:06

Cyteen I LOVE the Kurt Geiger shoes!!!!

OP posts:
CrispyTheCrisp · 09/05/2010 06:44

Here we go again

Shoes are majorly fab cyteen. Kooky and quirky and pretty. Love them

luckoftheirish · 09/05/2010 07:06

morning crispy ..

cyteen fab fab shoes ..

i have never been on a typing course unless you count 4th year at secondary school but with the amount of mistakes i make you would never know would you? ..

my two are already killing eachother ..

my strong resolve is getting stronger.. apparently they are all coming back from the stag and going to watch the footie in the pub.. asked if he was going.. was told that after two days and nights would i believe that he has done enough with the stags.. i said "do you want to go or do you feel you have to come home?" " will see what my brother is doing" as its all dependent on whether bil, wife agrees that bil can stay out! WTF????

so i have said that me and the girls are going swimming this am and hopefully a plat centre tommorrow.. SOD HIM..

phew

luckoftheirish · 09/05/2010 07:08

again my amazing typing can be seen by all

CrispyTheCrisp · 09/05/2010 07:13

Hey LOTI, mine are on the window sill fighting over eating grapes

Well done you on the resolve front. Any way you can find out what SIL will say when asked?

Hope it stays dry today and we can get out for some fresh air. Serious cabin fever here....

luckoftheirish · 09/05/2010 07:18

crisp.. this is the sil who i went to somerset with so no hope of finding out what she says.. i pressume she will be ok with as bil is very under the thumb so if she lets him out he will pay for it in some way ..

what really got to me ad what i have finally finally realised is that dh is happy to be at home when nothing is happening but as soon as a better offer appears he is gone like a shot.. if he did come straight home he would be in a mood as if he was missing out on something so its better just to let him get on with it.. he would be so much better off single with no responsibilities!
