Starting new thread before we run out of room. Now to link from the old one. Could be interesting

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

She's just making up for the night last week where she was up 5 times!! Last night was a very good night for us and not at all normal unfortunately.

Forgot to say 'Hope you're both OK' to Klerka too. Sounds awful. So glad she recovered quickly.

Catherine is now 12lbs 12ozs Means she's just above the 2nd centile now rather than just below it. She's still teeny. She's 6 months on Thursday!!

hendo77 · 14/06/2010 14:58

That's fantastic news Al!

AmazingBouncingFerret · 14/06/2010 17:24

Im still dying... Bloody fucking tonsils.

Didnt know i'd made round-up. wah hey that'll be twice now I didnt receive an email. Was it one of my threads or just a random comment??

Elizabeth is currently screeching as I type. She has blocked nose and is generally feeling very crappy. Im hoping she hasnt caught my tonsilitis. Can she catch it?? I hope not.
She had to sleep in her carseat last night because of snuffliness, think she might be in it again tonight. Ahhh peace, she just fell back asleep!

Paul and Jake are out picking up my new car. A 206. It's silver and very pretty!

hendo77 · 14/06/2010 18:27

Oh no - hope you feel better soon. It was your comment on the thread about excuses for being late, think this should take you to ithere. Lucky you getting a new car too!

Klerka · 14/06/2010 19:47

ABF - Sorry you're poorly... I had tonsillitis once and I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy. So sorry... does the icecream van make it your way much?

Al - Great news on Catherine's weight - well done both of you!

Thank you also for all your kind words on the highchair accident. She is just fine... it hasn't put her off eating - she loves chicken, broccoli and courgette the most, oh and I also bought a steak burger (plain patty really) from the local butcher for my dinner on Saturday night to eat in front of the footie, which I didn't eat as I was so upset ... so cooked it for her and she loved that too!

AlCrowley · 14/06/2010 20:25

Sorry to hear you're not very well ABF. I hope you feel better soon. It's awful being ill when you have little ones to care for

Hope your new car makes you feel a bit better

DH and his Dad are just talking about the plumbing they're going to do on Saturday. They're talking about drilling holes all the way through the wall to put the outside tap back on! I think it's best not to listen. I'm taking the children out to the waterside festival to get us away from the noise and the mess and the swearing Catherine crys if Alex shouts too loud, she's never going to cope with drilling.

AlCrowley · 14/06/2010 22:41

Catherine has only been in bed for 3 hours and she's woekn up twice already!! Hoping it's not going to be a bad night.

Last time she came down though, she didn't really want to feed, just cuddle me whiich was quite sweet. Not sure she's ever done that before.

hendo77 · 15/06/2010 08:15

Al, I hope your night wasn't as bad as ours in the end - perhaps it was something in the air? Imogen went to bed with no fuss and was asleep just before 7, she woke up at 9.30 (had to be fed, despite trying to resettle her), 11.30 (dh managed to resettle her), 1.30 (fed - v quickly), 4.00 (ended up laying with her in the bed in her room for half an hour where she nearly fell asleep but then started getting really upset so fed her at 4.30 and then she slept until 8.00). I am exhausted. I'm sure it must be her teeth, she was really hungry and her crying was that quite high pitched crying. I seriously hope that other tooth breaks through soon...

AlCrowley · 15/06/2010 09:48

Feeling a bit guilty now - our night was fine. After Catherine went back down at 10.30, she slept till 3.30 and then co-slept with us until just before 7. She was cooing and blowing raspberries happily until 7.15 when Alex got up.

Not sure what had been wrong between 7 and 10pm?

Don't feel guilty Al - I'm pretty sure it was payback for me writing on here how our nights were getting better recently!!! I'm sure it's the second tooth which I can now see and it looks like it's nearly broken through so I'm hoping for just one more bad night at most...

On the positive side I had a lovely lunch with Imogen and my best friend at local Italian - Imogen devoured lots of bits of pizza, sucking off all the tomato sauce and then gumming the crusts until soggy at which point then threw them away and demanded another bit!!! It was definitely her best eating so far I reckon.

LaDiDaDi · 15/06/2010 17:32

Lunch sounds lovely, hendo. Looking forward to starting ds on his solids at the weekend, in fact I'm starting to feel excited about it having previously felt a bit sad about his little babyhood ending.

Pleased you had a good night Al.

Hope you are feeling better ABF.

AlCrowley · 16/06/2010 08:33

OMG!

Catherine woke at 9 and had another mini feed last night - then slept until 5.30 this morning!!!

We were laid on the bed and she dropped off again at about 6.30 and slept till 7.30 too!.

I feel kinda groggy from all the sleep.

She tried bread for the first time yesterday, and my Yorkshire puddings, they must have done the trick So hoping for a repeat performance tonight so I can fully enjoy it without waking every hour in a "she hasn't woken up" panic!

Back was aching too. Really must do some better cool down stretches after running. Made it home before the music ran out last night so must have gone faster than Saturday!!

LaDiDaDi · 16/06/2010 09:15

Great news on the sleeping Al lol at feeling groggy from the sleep, feeling very . Ds did go for a good four hours yesterday evening though which is good as I'm going out this evening so hope that he can do a repeat performance. Overnight is still a bit rubbish here.

Lovely sunny day here so might do a picnic at the park for lunch .

Congrats on the sleep Al, I am very very . Our overnights are also really rubbish since Saturday and I really hope it is teething and will get better. Last night she woke at 9.45 so I tried just feeding her and putting her back down but she screamed and screamed and sobbed until we had to turn the light on properly and talk really soothingly to her until she calmed down enough to be put back to bed. Then she woke at 12 but self settled then again at 2.30 and 4.30 and then up for day at 7. The other tooth on the bottom looks like it has come through more or less now though so hopefully we're nearly there...

Lee you never know, A might suprise you and be so interested in what's going on he'll be perfectly behaved and then be extra tired and sleep all night for you...

Right I am now seriously considering cooking yorkshire puddings after Al's successful night ...

Don't apologise Lee! Does he go in a sling or baby carrier? would you be able to use that if you wanted to do a bit in the house? Obviously that won't help with the showering... if you really wanted a shower, would sitting him in the pram in front of the tv work for 10 minutes? (clearly that suggestion is not exactly out of any book - but it works here when needed!!!).

Just think what a lovely mummy you must be though if he wants to be cuddled by you all the time...

Sunshine I know how you feel. Ds has had days like that (un-put-down-able, I call it) but dd was much worse and it drove me mad!

I second the sling suggestion and also explaining to your dh how unhappy you are with the house and ask what he can do to help you.

Also try lowering your standards!

AlCrowley · 16/06/2010 16:50

Quick one because I'm in the middle of making dinner... but when I was trying to choose a new name, I nearly picked PollyCephaly as I regularly feel like a two headed creature when Catherine just won't be put down and I'm carrying her everywhere!!

I decided it was too likely to offend though. Even AlCrowley has had some comments!!.
