Good enough for ya dog .

And sorry I do realise some are only turning 14 mths and some are nearly 16mths etc,etc......apologies!

All officially toddlers now though i think (well 120's H and HKZ's J are pulling up/taking steps now I think, think mostly everyone walking of some sort!) Scary thought!

chilly here too. Moose, if you can walk 5 miles, shuffling the extra two for RFL is surely in your grasp! Good for you for walking the extra loop. When you are not used to it, tis a lot harder than running a mile! I HATE walking if there is nothing pretty to look at or someone to gossip with.

moosemama · 19/04/2010 14:48

Thanks 120.

Thing is my sister is running the RFL and I would be walking so I'd end up walking round on my own. I also struggle to get a decent amount of sponsorship now I am a sahm (its amazing how your world shrinks isn't it).

Gosh! Look at the time, school run time already. I'd better scoot.

missjackson · 19/04/2010 20:00

All this talk of running is making me feel knackered... still recovering from the weekend actually. I used to love running; I had a wonderful personal trainer who came to my house at 6am and made me work soooo hard for just one hour, once a week, core strength stuff, and then I would run twice a week on top of that, and I felt so good, every day; by 8am I had showered, had coffee, had breakfast, and felt good to go... she was so nice too and we used to gossip about boys. And my dog Jackson came too. But now, sadly, I am like jelly.

Waiting for OH to come home. N finally asleep. Delia's braised sausage in cider simmering... I am such a sucker for a celebrity chef

Can't believe poor Lenni still stuck in Morocco!

missjackson · 19/04/2010 20:07

tea just sent you friend request on fb, I am ET (can you believe that was actually my nickname at school which I hated - now my married initials!)

teaandcakeplease · 19/04/2010 20:11

So I see. You'll have to excuse the joke on my status about digging holes for excrement today :-D

I promise I'm normally better behaved on fb!

I used to run too, wish I could start again but I'd have to find a baby sitter 3 times a week. So feeling of 120 and HKZ. Never thought I'd be envious of someone else being able to run

120 · 19/04/2010 20:33

With DD, we used to get a nursery with a toys area to support our running club and any mum could come along and the group of mums would look after the baby whilst the mum ran. We'd run in groups of two or three (usually dependant on which child was sleeping at the time) whilst the others looked after the kids. It worked really well!

teaandcakeplease · 19/04/2010 21:04

Wow how awesome would that be if that was done in sunny Watford. Although actually I ran with gade valley harriers in Hemel.

120 · 19/04/2010 21:51

could you arrange it at a local sure start centre or something? we just asked one of the local nursery's that one of the mums used.

hi 120

moosemama · 20/04/2010 11:15

Morning,

Dog, I was going to say enjoy the scan, but am too late now. Hope all was well and you enjoyed it. Come back and tell us all about it.

Dh dropped me just outside the next village this morning after the school run and I walked into the village, did a small food shop then walked home. Probably about 2.5 miles I think. I'm having quite a proactive morning actually. We were all ready early for the school run with the boys having almost half and hour to play before we went out, even had time to wash up while dh vacuumed the floor! When I got back from my walk, I finally managed to get through to the doctors (good job its wasn't an emergency ) and the gp that referred ds for assessment is calling me tomorrow morning to discuss bringing forward his celiac test. Then finally I came online and ordered a new belt for my dead washing machine.

Feeling quite pleased with myself now. The only thing I have left on my list is to chase the assessment centre about how long ds will be on the waiting list for his asd assessment.

120 · 20/04/2010 11:24

good work moose!

moosemama · 20/04/2010 13:09

Why thank you 120. You and HKZ inspired me to shift my butt! lol

chefswife · 20/04/2010 17:43

120 and HKZ I have my first 10K Marathon race this Sunday! (I think I may have been spouting about this already). It was $30 entrance fee but the money goes towards your running package; we get t-shirt, number and running chip, which is where most of the cost goes. I remember when I first started training how much I struggled to get that first mile knocked off without stopping and when I did, everyone in the gym knew. I embarrassingly have no shame congratulating myself in public...lol. I am now up to 9k in 58 minutes! I haven't run that last KM though... my training is up the mountain and back so I think I'll be good for the run as it is very flat.

moose I think you would suffer from back pain if you used the sling... it makes you a little lopsided. A carrier would be better.

be back later... DD has found me...lol

moosemama · 20/04/2010 19:00

Chef, dd is tiny, so I still wear her like a newborn in on my front in the moby (although I am in the process of making myself a lightweight gauze sling to use in warmer weather and when she is a bit heavier). She is nice and close to my chest (so centre of gravity and all that) and I hardly feel her weight. We do have a great karrimor frame carrier, but I feel like such a wally walking around a suburban area in it.

Am very impressed with your running. I don't do running I'm afraid, as not only am I fundamentally lazy, I also have knee and pelvis problems which give me a good excuse not to.

Dog - how did it go? I've been worrying about you all afternoon as you didn't come and report back. Hope all is well.

chefswife · 20/04/2010 20:41

moose I remember when I first started running, my hips and knees killed me... I think it was residual from giving birth... the hormones leaving your joints and all. Its only in the last month I don't have a problem. I wouldn't be running if I had any real problems though. There are times when I'm on the treadmill at the gym and I have to coax myself by yelling "Come on! You've only got 10 minutes left." People at the gym are use to me now. I rock out all the time too with my headphones. I must look quite funny sometimes.

120 Your running with other moms idea is great. I will have to present it to my SuperFlyMums because I know a few of them want to get running.

Dog Love the scan pictures... at this rate, I might want to get pregnant before Christmas! All these babies.

Gotta go again... DD just woke up and has the sniffles. Poor thing. Ciao for now Ladies .

120 · 20/04/2010 20:57

evening all! Who on our thread/FB is LR?? Tea, is that you?

moosemama · 20/04/2010 21:01

Chef, yes I was told it can take a good year for your hormones and bones to settle down after a pregnancy, longer dependent on how long you bf for. My hip and knee problems are congenital unfortunately, I was told I should never ski, skate or horseride. Well I've never skied, but ice skating and horseriding were my teenage passions, much to my doctor's disapproval.

I gather all is ok then Dog if you've FB'd scan pics? Phew! I have been checking back in regularly to see if you've been back.

moosemama · 21/04/2010 12:01

Morning

Have just spoken to the GP about ds1's coeliac test. She was lovely and has arranged a test straight away on the basis that he's been on some gluten every day for 6 weeks. If it comes back negative or inconclusive, she suggested upping his intake and retesting in a month. Much more doable than keeping him on it until July. Am so relieved.

We are going to grit out teeth, load him up with gluten and have his test done at the end of next week. He will love eating all the pasta, pizza and real bread. Not sure how we will cope with the inevitable consequences though.

Also spoke to the lady at the ASD Assessment Unit. Unfortunately, they have a backlog and ds won't be seen for 12 months. No point in getting angry though, they are massively oversubscribed and its not the poor woman's fault. Still, it helps to know what timescales we are looking at. At least we won't spend every day/week/month thinking the appointment could come through any minute. I guess, we just have to get on with things and put it out of our minds for now.

Haven't been walking this morning as have been either on the phone or waiting for it to ring!
