Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
SuperSoph73 · 28/09/2010 16:09

Hey there. It is quiet round here, isn't it! Well, I finally went into hospital last Tues to have my D&C and then had a week off work so that's why it's been quiet my end. Everyone has obviously gone out and got themselves lives ... how dare they Shock

Sam's terribe twos have finally caught up with him. He can throw some incredible tantrums!!! We have also found out that (just like his mum) he's allergic to fish, after two rounds of projectile vomiting & bringing up bright green bile after having fish for lunch at the guarderia.

Denny185 · 28/09/2010 18:13

Hey Soph, hope ur doing ok after d&c.

Life here trundles by, DS not enjoying school but wont talk about why, a friends son mentioned he had been in a fight in the playground with some older boys and he doesn't want to take anything in for break time. Something not quite right so i went in asked the teachers if an eye could be kept at break/lunch. Fingers crossed it wont last too long.

DD2 loving pre-school, not a problem getting her in at all, just issue trying to get her out Wink

SuperSoph73 · 05/10/2010 13:23

Hey there Denny :) Yep, I'm fine ... obviously I have wobbly moments every now and then but I think they will carry on for a good while yet.

Sorry to hear about DS & school - hope you get it sorted soon. Sam is being a little bugger. Apparently he's walked on his own twice at Nursery and takes 3 or 4 steps unaided when he goes to one of his therapies. However, as soon as I walk into the room he sits straight down. If you go to lift him up to put him on his feet he sticks his legs straight out and just bursts out laughing .... soooo cheeky!

KnitterInTheNW · 12/10/2010 15:54

Oh FFS...

Had an early scan this afternoon. Was meant to be 9 weeks tomorrow. The ladies could not find a heartbeat. I'm in shock a bit I think, don't really know what to do with myself.

Denny185 · 12/10/2010 18:48

hugs]

Its been a shit few months for the April 08 mums, surely things have got to pick up for everyone soon.

Denny185 · 12/10/2010 18:49

That did start with [Large

SuperSoph73 · 13/10/2010 12:55

Oh Knitter I'm so sorry. I know exactly how you feel. Take it easy, contact me if you need to

Denny - exactly, hopefully we'll get some luck coming our way soon.

EllieG · 13/10/2010 13:40

Hey all - long time no speak - it's been mad here.

Just catching up - there's been some sad things happening it seems - soph and knitter - bigs hugs to you both. Am sorry x

SuperSoph73 · 13/10/2010 16:30

Hey Ellie, lovely to see you again :) and thanks. Let us know what you've been up to.

Denny185 · 13/10/2010 19:05

Hi Ellie, how you doing?

Knitter, hows it going this am? Thinking of you

EllieG · 22/10/2010 12:05

I have been doing nothing but work work work but luckily am changing jobs very soon so will be less stressed soon hurray!

Molly is fine, we tried toilet training, it was a bit of a disaster tbh and it's being put off for another month or two. Aside from that, she's great, so life is good really.

How's everyone else?

SuperSoph73 · 25/10/2010 12:33

Hey Ellie. Pleased to hear you're all OK and good luck with the new job. We're just recovering from the dreaded lurgy! Fortunately Sam seems to be coping with colds a lot better than he used to. He still isn't walking on his own - little tike. He can walk he just doesn't want to!! He's soooo cheeky [hsmile] He's recently had a frame made for the backs of his leg and lower torso which he has to stand in for 10 mins a day - gradually building up to an hour a day. Apparently in a couple of months time he'll be running around ..... yeah, right we'll see. They've obviously forgotten how stubborn he is [hgrin]

DS1 is very excited as it's the school Halloween party on Friday - will put some piccies on when I've got them.

EllieG · 26/10/2010 12:43

Glad little Sam is doing well and as cheeky as ever! They never do what they're supposed to do they? Molly is a monster, her new favourite thing is picking her nose, and I hear her in the back of the car chuntering to herself 'That's a big one! Bogy pie!'. Ugh.

SuperSoph73 · 27/10/2010 13:24

[hgrin] can see you're obviously instilling the best qualities in your daughter Ellie LOL [hwink]

EllieG · 29/10/2010 10:53

Oh yes, she's a right little lady [hhmm]

KnitterInTheNW · 07/11/2010 11:33

Hee hee at Mol being a proper lady, I'm actually very impressed!

And also hee hee at Sam, he's a proper boy isn't he, able to do stuff but not really being bothered to do it!

I think my head is a bit more round what's happened now, sometimes I can talk about it fine and sometimes it really upsets me. George and DH are out in the garden now planting a climbing rose for the baby, so we'll always have something. Oh blimey, here come the tears again...

I'm thinking (hoping) that I might be ovulating again, it's been a couple of weeks since the op and the doctor said that what they did would 'reset' my cycle and to wait until I've had an AF then I'll be physically ready to TTC again. So fingers crossed, I just really need to be PG again!

I was fighting the tears (yes, tears feature a lot in my life at the momenet!) yesterday in the car, George was singing the end bits of the lines from Puff the magic dragon, and it was sooooo cute!

Where are you all? I know I'm just as bad at posting, but I miss you all!

SuperSoph73 · 08/11/2010 15:03

Hey there Knitter. Glad to hear that you're getting on with things. I wish you all the luck in the world for the next round of TTC. I think we're due for some good luck soon :) As much as I still feel wobbly some days and really really want to try again I think that deep down I know that we won't. Some days I feel fine about that and can quite happily accept it without feeling a thing - and then other days I can't get my head round it and wonder whether I would ever be able to convince DH ... not sure that I'd be able too though!

Sam had his hearing checked today and everything's fine. The Doc also checked his tonsils and everything's fine there as well. He doesn't have to go back until next year so that's a step in the right direction. The only thing to keep an eye on is if he gets a throat infection/s he's to go straight back to the hospital and they will consider taking his tonsils out. Fingers crossed everything will be fine though :)

I know what you mean about it being quiet round here. I miss everyone too. Everyone's clearly got a more exciting life than me LOL :)

EllieG · 10/11/2010 12:50

Not me! I'm doing nowt. New job not very busy yet though have to be careful boss don't catch me on internet! Lunchtime now though so is fine.

Lots of hugs to both of you. When I had MC and D&C I was very wobbly for a while and I think you just have to let yourself be for a while, and accept the ups and downs as they come, is a sad thing to happen and you are normal to feel that.

SuperSoph73 · 10/11/2010 13:43

Hey Ellie - you're right. My best friend gave birth to a baby girl on Monday and when I got the txt I was very teary.

What does your new job entail?

EllieG · 19/11/2010 13:06

Working for the Family court doing independant assessments when people get divorced etc and can't agree on what contact etc for kids, adoptions, etc. Like CAFCASS but not as it's Jersey. Is nice - no child abuse hurray! Though I do want to knock people's heads together sometimes because it's all 'but he did/she did' and they forget about their kids. But no child abuse is v good.

This thread has dropped on to the next page - why so quiet?

SuperSoph73 · 19/11/2010 15:30

Ellie - I can quite imagine why you'd want to bang their heads together.

It's really, really quiet round here at the moment. Saying that though I haven't really got much to report. Just bimbling along as usual :o Sam is walking more and more now so that's positive. He's got a dreadful cold at the moment and when he coughs it sounds like he smokes 80 a day :( I may take him to the docs on Monday because I don't want him getting pneumonia again. Don't think I could stand another week at the hospital!!

Got friends coming over on Sunday so I'm using them as guinea pigs as I've got a couple of new recipes to try out :o

TTFN, enjoy your weekend :o

chipmonkey · 19/11/2010 16:08

Knitter, so sorry.Sad

We could really do with some good news on this thread, couldn't we?

We have been back and forth to doctors. Harry managed to get both conjunctivitis and a scratched cornea two weeks ago so we have been back and forth to the Eye Clinic. Also ds1 has tinnitus which is not going away so we have had an MRI for him, no results yet and have booked in to see an ENT consultant, luckily ds3 was due a follow up after grommets so we have managed to book all the hearing tests and consultations in together. It is going to be v. expensive though, all private as the public waiting times here are dreadful.

Oh and our economy has crashed but hey, we are getting free cheese from the government so that's OK then.Hmm

SuperSoph73 · 22/11/2010 11:53

Hey there chipmonkey. Sorry to hear about illnesses, etc. I know what you mean about waiting times. Sam saw a consultant for his reflux during the summer hols and his follow-up appointment isn't until Jan Shock and it's probably only going to be an appointment to tell us the results!!! If we could afford to go private we would but just can't at the moment. He is dealing with it though but still ....

I did have to :) at your reference to cheese, even though I appreciate that it's not funny whatsoever. If we win the Euro Lottery I'll see what I can do Wink

Denny185 · 23/11/2010 20:11

hello all, hope all been ok last week.

We are living in a state at the minute. Electrics done last week, heating/boiler next week and walls being knocked down week after. Im still hoping for completed kitchen by xmas but looking less likely as the weeks go by.

DD2 has started with some interesting behaviour - as soon as I put her pre-school jumper on she starts crying and dosent stop till after I have dropped her off and left. Real enjoyable experience 2 days a week Wink

SuperSoph73 · 24/11/2010 13:41

Hey there Denny :o Will keep everything crossed for you that you have a kitchen for Christmas.

Sorry to hear about DD2. At least she stops crying once she gets there - maybe she just doesn't like the uniform Wink Have you tried putting a different jumper on her?

Sam actually fed himself his lunch at Nursery yesterday He also had his first school photograph :o Can't wait to see it. It looks like he's going to need some antibiotics to shift his cough though. He had a chest x-ray on Monday because I was worried about him getting pneumonia again. Fortunately it's just catarrah but as he hasn't got any better he's going back to the docs tomorrow to get his meds.

Everything else is pootling along as usual :o
