Hi all, lovely to see so many all at once! And welcome, EffJay Smile

George is being 'interesting' behaviour wise at the moment, his speech has come on leaps and bounds this past month, which is great, but not so much by the end of the day when my ears are ringing! One of his fave phrases is 'I can't'. As in, 'George, please stop whining at me and talk nicely so I can understand you.' 'I can't...' Grrr!! And earlier he had a massive strop, and it turns out it was because he couldn't reach the clouds Hmm

Guess what?

I think I'm pg!!!!
I'm not due AF til friday, but did a first response test this morning (the earliest one I could find!) and got a feint line. A line's a line, right! Will test again on actual friday. Gulp!

Denny185 · 04/09/2010 19:19

Gulp indeed, keeping fingers crossed for you.

We just brought a new kitchen - in anticipation that we pass building regulations, nothing like being a bit premature!!

MisSalLaneous · 04/09/2010 22:20

oooooh Knitter, how exciting!!! Keeping my fingers crossed for you.

Denny, nice re kitchen! When do you expect to hear back re building regs or start installation?

Nice day here. We had invited friends over for a bbq, and I kept panicking that it would rain out. Luckily all good and had a lovely day. I'm totally shattered now though, off to bed I think.

chipmonkey · 05/09/2010 10:13

Oh, Knitter!Grin That is exciting!

You were lucky with your bbq, Sal! Poor SIL hada party yesterday for her ds with a bouncy castle and it rained solidly for the entire day! Luckily the castle had a cover on it but she used loads of towels keeping the house and kids dry!

MisSalLaneous · 05/09/2010 10:16

Poor SIL, chipmonkey! Glad she could at least still use the bouncy castle! I really worried when the clouds got dark around 12, as it was 8 adults and 4 children - no way would we all have fitted into our sitting room!!

chipmonkey · 05/09/2010 13:32

Our kids were still bouncing close to midnight!
We are saving to put a patio with masonry bbq out the back next year for entertaining outdoors but sometimes when I look at the weather here, I wonder if it's worth it!

Denny185 · 05/09/2010 18:54

You may have to add a large canopy to your list of outdoor renovations chipmonkey, then you can BBQ rain or shin.

The architect is hoping we can get everything through on building regs (we're extending as well as knocking down walls) just waiting confirmation from the council. If so it's just as soon as we find a builder otherwise we've got another couple of months to wait till permission. Was hoping to have kitchen part up and functioning by xmas but tis looking less and less likely. Still would be good excuse not to have DH's family over (mine are off to curry house for xmas dinner) and have to cook big meal.

Was late lifting DD2 last night so she had wet the bed, sat her on the potty while I changed the bed and she fell asleep with her head on her knees, did amuse me, but then it doesn't take much.

MisSalLaneous · 05/09/2010 18:59

Awww Denny Grin They're sooo cute when they're all sleepy. You should have taken a photo!

Wow re your building plans - sounds like a big job, but would be so fab once completed!

I woke up with a horrid cold this morning - it's not flu, but feels like it (minus the fever). Feeling very sorry for myself.

chipmonkey · 05/09/2010 19:24

Oh yes, Denny, you should have taken a picture, then shown it on a large screen at her wedding venue![evil]Grin

SuperSoph73 · 09/09/2010 15:52

Hey all. Sorry I've not been around for a while and needless to say I haven't got round to reading all your messages.

Well just to let you know that I have lost the baby and it's been 3 weeks of pure horridness. My (hopefully) final appointment at the health centre is tomorrow morning & if the sac is still there, which it was last week and I haven't passed anything which resembles a sac, then I will have to go into hospital. As usual this is all coinciding with DH not being around and a flare up of Sam's reflux - hey ho!

Anyway, I'll hopefully be able to catch up with all you lovely ladies some time next week.

Denny185 · 09/09/2010 18:12

Thats terrible news, fingers crossed you avoid the hospital admission and you can start the road to recovery very soon.

MisSalLaneous · 09/09/2010 20:57

I'm so sorry Soph. Sad

KnitterInTheNW · 10/09/2010 07:52

Oh Soph, I'm so sorry too. xxx

Denny185 · 11/09/2010 19:03

Feeling very much like groundhog day here, constant cycle of washing, ironing, cooking, cleaning. As soon as I clean a room the kids scuttle in behind me and do their very best to trash it again. Would be lovely to employ someone for a week to keep everything clean and tidy.

I love internet shopping, we found some tiles that we liked for the kitchen at £55 square meter but I found almost the same on tinternet for £17 with free delivery, hooray.

Plan for next few days - sort the loft out Shock There are boxes up there that just got moved from our old loft when we moved up here 7 years ago. We did the garage last weekend (that has a loft over it too) and did 3 loads to the tip and one the the charity shop and one to recycling centre - being v ruthless. Dh has also been selling loads of the baby stuff on his work intranet, trying to declutter as much as possible before building

SuperSoph73 · 14/09/2010 16:12

Hey there. Wow Denny, sounds like you've been busy.

Quick update - went for scan and sac still there. Have now been put on drops to try and pass everything. These are not doing a thing as I've completely stopped bleeding and am in no pain apart from excrutiating pains in my thighs. Went to hospital and they won't do anything until Mon Shock I kept pointing out that the drops weren't working and that a side effect of them is thrombosis but he just kept smiling at me and shrugging his shoulders - nice. They've still got a long way to go with their people skills over here. Sooooo, have another scan on Mon and then hopefully will be sent to hosp for a D&C.

Anyway, apart from all this horridness. Everything is ticking along as normal. Sam is coming on in leaps and bounds, although still not walking yet. He took 3 steps unaided while we were in England but that's been it. They physio said that there's no reason why he can't walk, he just doesn't want too - lazy tike :o He can also say "dock" now, which could be either dog or duck as they sound very similar and his woofing and quacking noises are very similar :o

KnitterInTheNW · 14/09/2010 16:21

Hey Soph Smile

How awful for you, is there no-one else you could see?

Grin at Sam being able to walk but just not wanting to, sounds like a boy after my DH's heart!

I have an appt with the doc a week tomorrow, and one at the hospital the Wed after, at which I'm expecting them to arrange an early scan for me the same as they did last time.

SuperSoph73 · 14/09/2010 16:45

Hey Knitter - congrats btw :o No, unfortunately there isn't anyone else you can go to over here. I could probably go privately but we just can't afford it. Hey, I'll tough it out, it could be worse.

Sam is becoming cheekier by the second I tell you ... can't imagine where he gets that from Hmm

Am off home, will try and check in more often to see how we're all doing. Now that work has calmed down a bit :o

Denny185 · 14/09/2010 20:05

Hey Soph, sorry to hear you are having to go through such a long drawn out process, hope it doesn't take too much longer. LOL at Sam being a lazy tike, typical boy eh Wink

We have just stopped lifting DS at night now and he has done 2 full nights being completely dry, he's 4 now and I think part of the reason he finally got his bum into gear was because i stopped night nappies with DD2 and the green eyed monster got the better of him. Boys really are a different breed.

DS and DD2 are constantly fighting at the minute. Its lovely and peaceful during school hours but literally within seconds of entering the house they start screaming at each other, I know its a phase and it will pass but lordy its driving me nuts!!

On a good note the loft is done Grin everything came out and was sorted - another 2 loads to the dump, one for freecycle and one for the charity shop. There's loads of room to put more crap up there now.

Pudding is ready now - home made blackberry and apple crumble, mmmmm.

KnitterInTheNW · 14/09/2010 21:15

Apple and blackberry crumble, yum!

I had been thinking about giving potty training while I was off work for a couple of weeks last week & the one before, but he has no clue so no point yet! He'll sit on his potty for a bit after his bath, and we've managed to catch maybe 3 drops in it, but apart from that I can safely say it'll be a while!

SuperSoph73 · 15/09/2010 16:22

I love apple and blackberry crumble ... guess what you can't get out here though ... blackberries :(

Sounds like a load of fun in your house when they're all at home Wink

I did think of trying Sam on a potty during the summer hols but never got round to it. It will probably take him a bit longer to be out of nappies though. May try it over the Xmas hols.

KnitterInTheNW · 15/09/2010 16:39

We have an apple tree and blackberries in our back garden! Such a novelty going out to pick them!

chipmonkey · 15/09/2010 16:59

Oh, Soph! I'm so sorry and how crap that you have to wait so longSad

Denny is sounding very ubermummy what with her apple and blackberry crumble!

Denny185 · 15/09/2010 18:48

Not very uber I'm afraid just a way of maintaining sanity in a house of mayhem. 2 hours of blackberry picking followed by jam and crumble making equates to nearly a whole days entertainment (for free) and therefore less fights.

Gym tonight, feeling like a chore at the minute.

Denny185 · 24/09/2010 17:46
