Hey all. You lot have been awfully quiet recently. I've got myself sucked into facebook at the mo - dreadfully moreish! I'm sure it won't last though as once the school finds out they're sure to block it!

How is everyone? It's the last week of term - yay! I'm going to the water park with DS1's class on Thurs, which I'm not particularly looking forward to but they're going to a bigger water park this year and I don't trust his teacher to keep an eye on them

LadyBee · 04/07/2010 22:42

gosh it has been quiet here. Sorry I've been extremely preoccupied with my own goings on. The scan I had showed just a yolk sac so I had to come back 2 weeks later. That was on Friday, we saw a heartbeat but the embryo was measuring quite small and they put me a week earlier than I expected which shook me up quite a lot. I'm feeling better about it now, trying to concentrate on the heartbeat side of things. Fingers crossed things just carry on as they should huh?

ThePFJ · 09/07/2010 09:18

Hi everyone!!!!

Just to let you know I got a BFP yesterday!!!!
I am SO excited!

I really hope this pg sticks. Fingers crossed for me girls. Am having a viability scan next week to make sure all is ok. Wish me luck.

Hope you are all ok. Little Jack is getting really good with his numbers and letters but still not talking properly. He is still trying REALLY hard to say things though, so thats a good sign. How are the rest of the April 08 babies doing??

I am out til Sunday now, will check back then. Much love to all. xxxx

KnitterInTheNW · 16/07/2010 07:53

Hello all!

PFJ, I'm so, so sorry

LadyBee, have you had any more check ups?

We're going to start trying for no 2 after next month's AF. (Trying to time it so that I'm not in hospital for a week over G's bday!)

We had a lovely week in Scarborough, not doing ever so much and it was really relaxing.

Back to a broken washing machine which isn't much fun, but luckily work have said I can use their machine until our new one gets delivered, so at least I don't have to try to fit in trips to the launderette with everything else too.

How are you all? Busy, by how quiet it is here at the moment!

Denny185 · 20/07/2010 14:29

Sorry to hear your news PFJ, hope u r ok

Hi knitter, quiet isn't it.

We had a nice week over in Turkey kids had great time, in pool for the duration. Hooray for arm bands eh!

DD1 is up at her nans for the first week of summer hols so fairly peaceful here. DD2 just come out of night time nappies and doing really well (which is more than can be said for her older brother). Apart from that life ticking along, we have a week away with the in-laws in Aug although it's likely that will just mean I have to cook for more people, cant see them helping very much - I may be back eating my hat in a few weeks.

Off work next week as friends are up, looking forward to seeing them all, the kids all play really nicely so should be nice company for each other although typically the nice sunny weather seems have have done the off.

LadyBee · 25/07/2010 18:21

Oh bollocks ThePFJ, we're not having much luck are we
I've just miscarried again. Was supposed to be about 9 1/2-10 weeks today, got spotting on Tuesday and scan on Wednesday showed no heartbeat and development stopped a few days after my previous scan when the heartbeat was seen.
I think the worst is over now - was in a lot of pain earlier today. DH is being excellent and ToddlerBee is lovely, keeps coming to visit me upstairs and brings me books. Not sure 'Where's Spot' is too comforting, but it's a lovely thought.

ThePFJ, not sure if you like the ttc threads, but I went on this one last time and will again - it really helped on the down days.

Knitter fingers crossed you get a good smooth ride with no.2

SuperSoph73 · 28/07/2010 15:21

Hey there! Long time, no chat. PFJ, Ladybee - big hugs for you both am very sorry to hear your news.

We have just got back from England and had a great time. DH wasn't convinced that he was going to enjoy it but did come back saying that he had a great time. We spent a week in Sussex then went up to Northumberland and stayed in a static home at Sandy Bay for a week. The weather wasn't brilliant but we got to see family that we haven't seen in years, which really was the whole point of going. We did manage a couple of days out and DS1 had a fantastic time at the Natural History Museum in London and Alnwick Castle. The caravan park also had an indoor pool so DS1 spent the majority of his time in there.

I've also come back with a present we definitely weren't expecting ... I'm pregnant with number 3 - gulp This wasn't planned so I have no real idea how far gone I am. I've got a docs appointment tomorrow so may be a little more up-to-date after that. We're still reeling from the shock so I don't think it's actually sunk in yet.

KnitterInTheNW · 28/07/2010 18:56

Soph... Congratulations!

Denny185 · 30/07/2010 18:27

Blimey Soph, 3 is the new 2. You obviously had a lovely holiday.

Ladybee sorry to hear your sad news you and PFJ are having a really shit time of it. Keeping fingers crossed for you both.

Week 2 of summer hols nearly over and children still alive - just!

SuperSoph73 · 31/07/2010 21:21

Thanks Knitter. Hi there Denny. Am 6 weeks at the mo and like I said before I'm still in shock. Only 2 weeks in hey, we've been off for 4 so far and DS1 is already beginning to feel the strain Let's hope he holds out until the beginning of Sept. It's a close run thing I can tell you

Denny185 · 31/07/2010 21:28

A good shock though?

We have had such a lazy day today DD1 didn't get out of her PJ's and spent all day in front of TV or playing on DS - such a bad mother. We are out tomorrow to a swimming party and then play date in the PM so she has been warned a non electronic day tom.

SuperSoph73 · 31/07/2010 21:38

TBH Denny I think we're just trying not to think about where we're going to put everyone LOL ... oh, and how we're going to afford another one. I am happy but I had completely resigned myself to the fact that there weren't going to be any more and now I just don't really know how I feel. DH and I also haven't really discussed it properly, we keep just saying little bits and pieces but not really talking, iyswim. Anyhoo, everything will be fine, we've always been skint so nothing new there

It's great having lazy days though isn't it. We were at the pool today and DS1 has caught the sun under his eyes (very bad mummy). I reapplied his suntan cream 4 times but - of course - he always rubs his eyes after he's been swimming underwater so it never stays on for long. We were going to go back tomorrow but DH has got the hump so he's downstairs watching telly and I'm in the bedroom MNing cos I'm not speaking to him - ho hum!

KnitterInTheNW · 31/07/2010 21:49

Water park? We did similar yesterday... Our Friday mums & tots had a teddy bears picnic. and towards the end it rained so hard that everyone was as soaked as if we'd been in a pool! Good fun though.

Denny, which days are you working now? Maybe we could meet up one day?

SuperSoph73 · 02/08/2010 13:03

Afternoon all. I'm taking Sam to the hospital this afternoon for his appointment with someone who deals with digestion. We've only been waiting since March - hey ho! I've got to take DS1 with me as DH is picking up one of the new teachers this evening. I just can't believe they're turning up already ... bit too keen if you ask me

KnitterInTheNW · 02/08/2010 13:15

Good luck with Sam's appt Soph, really hope you get some answers!

Think I'd be keen if I was going to starting a new job somewhere as lovely as where you are, fit in some holiday time before the new term.

SuperSoph73 · 04/08/2010 12:39

Knitter - yeah I guess you're right. We sort of take it all for granted now I suppose. It was the one thing I really really missed when we were back in England - the warmth

Sam's appointment went OK although it was all the same as the others, just with a different doctor. He has to go for a blood test and a scan on Monday. He's not allowed to have any breakfast so he's not going to be a happy bunny! The woman who made the appointment for the scan did say he could have a bottle though ... not quite sure why there's a difference, I suppose liquids go through the system quicker than solids - who knows. Maybe one of you lovely ladies can enlighten me I don't know whether to get him up earlier and give him a bottle or leave him to sleep then just bundle him in the car so he's taken by surprise - maybe then it'll take him longer to realise that he's not had anything to eat

DH and DS1 have got to come with me as I won't be able to take Sam into the room where they do the scan. DS1 is not going to be happy when he realises he's got to get up early!!!!

LadyBee · 05/08/2010 23:27

Gosh Soph, that's amazing news! Are you starting to get used to the idea now?

I won't pretend that I'm not jealous as all hell (I'm not that good a person), but only because I wish it had turned out better for me, not because I don't think you should have your happiness too - hope you get what I mean?

I've been back at work this week, but am relieved that it's only for the one week and then I'm off for two weeks holiday at home, looking after B. I'm still pretty fragile and really need the break (wept all over DH last night after...I guess he's getting used to it).

My arms are hurty after having some immunisations for Hep A and Typhoid - am off to India just after I get back to work. I have to say (and don't think I get to do this often, it's the first time in 3 years), there is something really pleasing about booking flights and hotels and knowing that you're not going to pay a single cent towards them . I know it's not going to be all fun & games. Actually, work travel is normally pretty boring and lonely, but still...for just the moment when I had all the arrangements made and knew it wasn't MY credit card I was quoting...it just felt very.....G O O D.

SuperSoph73 · 08/08/2010 15:19

Thanks Ladybee - I do know what you mean and I hope that you are lucky soon - believe me, if I could share some of our good fortune I would. We are slowly coming to terms with it and it sort of feels more real now as we have told a few people.

You did make me smile about feeling good knowing you aren't forking out any money :o I hope you have a good time, even though you'll be working hard. Hope you have fun looking after B - I'm sure you will. Have you got anything planned?

Denny185 · 09/08/2010 10:53

What do you do that involves you travelling to india??

Knitter I work Wed/Thur/Fri, Aeryn will be doing half day at pre-school on Tues in Sept so I have Mon free after the school run. If that works for you Meeting up would be great, if not we could do a weekend.

Found out Im not going to be a bridemaid next year now as the wedding's been postponed - shes 4 months pregnant. She has this whole thing about telling people news face to face and not over telephone and shes been trying to come up for weeks but not being able to tally dates - I thought she was keen to get some wedding organisation done, little did I know. So pleased for her I know she will be a great mum, much more important than a ring.

MisSalLaneous · 16/08/2010 13:07

Hello everybody.

I'm so so so sorry to see your sad news, Ladybee and PFJ. Sad I never know exactly what to say if someone you care for hurts, but I really am very sorry. Wish I could offer a proper cup of tea to make up for my lack of social skills.

On to other things, Ladybee, hope you have a fab trip to India! I'm very jealous, we loved the trip in Feb and I'd love to go back.

Soph, congratulations on your great (if scary!) news. :)

Here life very same-old, but in a good way. We took R to an asthma specialist who switched him to new meds, and it's made the world of difference. No more coughing himself sick at night, no more panic when someone has a basic cold, knowing the inevitable chest infection is not far off.

Hope everyone else doing well. x

SuperSoph73 · 18/08/2010 09:11

Hey all, how we doing? I'm not too good. Started bleeding quite a bit last night. I had this (at about this time) with the other two but nowhere near as bad as this. It seems to have stopped now but am just keeping an eye on things. The thing is I have to lift Sam all the time and DH is already back at work so am on my own quite a bit. The A-Level results are out today so he's dashed into school to get them and then he's coming straight back. We shall go to the hospital if I'm still feeling yucky when he gets back! What a crap day :(

MisSalLaneous · 18/08/2010 17:43

Oh soph, sorry to hear you're not feeling too good. Hope all is still ok and that you're feeling better already.

SuperSoph73 · 20/08/2010 14:25

Just a quick update. Had to go to the hosp yesterday and it looks as though I may be losing this one :( They did a scan and, although the midwife told me I was 8 wks, it looks as though I'm only 6 weeks. Because of this it was too small to measure and to see whether there was a heartbeat. I have to go for a scan on Fri to see whether everything is OK or not. I'm still bleeding though, so not looking good imo. They want me to rest but I'm not quite sure how you do that when you've got 2 kids to run round after, especially as one of them still isn't walking. DH is also back at work so no help around.

Oh well, what will be will be. If it survives this it's going to be one strong little bugger :)

MisSalLaneous · 20/08/2010 14:49

Sad. Thinking of you, Soph, hope all works out ok.

We're supposed to be off camping tonight and tomorrow, but we're all just so completely shattered that we decided to pack tonight after dh back from work, and leave at 6am tomorrow morning instead. As we have to pay for tonight anyway, at least we can arrive any time after 8am. That's the plan anyway - whether it would still look so clever at 5am I don't know...
