Hey PM lovely to hear that DS2's speech is coming along. And good on ya' for going back to Uni.

Ellie - I know what you mean. I've had such a dreadful week this week & we're having chinese tonight as a friend of ours is coming over so sod it I'll start again on Monday

LadyBee · 07/06/2010 21:12

Hi everyone, I hope you had nice weekends. I met my friend's new baby - she came a little early and had some jaundice which meant a bit of a rough start but is so lovely and I'm thrilled for my friends .
We also had a trip to the park for icecream - it was babybee's first cone all on his own and he concentrated sooo hard on eating it. He's still quite squeamish about having mucky hands, but managed to put up with it while he had icecream to attack.

DH is out tonight, doing his first babysitting episode . I think he was a bit nervous about it, but am sure he'll be fine. And I'm enjoying having the remote to myself.

SuperSoph73 · 08/06/2010 09:21

Hey Ladybee how did your DH's babysitting go? Well done to babybee and his cone eating. Sam would have loads of fun with a cone but unfortunately he can't keep ice-cream down. Saves on the mess I suppose

We had a nice weekend. Fortunately it had cooled down a bit so I took DS1 to the swimming pool. DH stayed at home with Sam as he was quite pukey so we didn't think swimming would be the best thing for him ... or everyone else for that matter

LadyBee · 09/06/2010 22:07

The babysitting went really well - baby girl was in bed and asleep without a whimper by 7:15. I think the babies were conspiring as babybee did the same, fell into his cot and rolled over asleep.

So...

I had a +ve pregnancy test yesterday . We decided to start trying again straight away, but I didn't think it would happen very quickly so this is a bit of a shock.
Unfortunately I'm feeling crampy tonight, but I know that happens, just trying to keep a cap on the worry and take it all as it comes.

SuperSoph73 · 10/06/2010 11:17

Oh Ladybee how lovely Take it easy

Scorps · 10/06/2010 13:03

Ladybee congrats it does happen really fast after mc - I was pg with piglet before even having a period. Cramping is normal too, just take each day at the moment.

LadyBee · 10/06/2010 21:05

Thanks, and all fine today and I keep trying to remind myself that I felt this way with all pregnancies so far and it really has no bearing on whether it works out or not. So may as well enjoy the journey (remind me of this if I start moaning about sickness in a few weeks).

Can I just say, DS is being absolutely gorgeous at the moment . It's just so nice when he goes through these periods - yes, I get a bit annoyed every so often with the constant chatting and questions, but I'm still just amazed to see how the language develops, he's like a little science experiment that I'm really enjoying observing. But he's doing some odd stuff. At the moment he sometimes like to insist on calling me by my first name, which just sounds so strange coming from a 2-yr-old. And after doing that he's now playing with saying 'Mum' rather than 'Mummy'.

Work, on the other hand, is just being an arse. Too many egos. Lots of politics. Boring boring boring.

Thanks for the reassurance Scorps.

Denny185 · 11/06/2010 20:17

Congratulations ladybee, keeping everything crossed for a sticky one.

Not much to say just thought it was about time I popped on to say hello.

MisSalLaneous · 12/06/2010 00:21

Oh wow, I pop in to say hello to everyone and see Ladybee's news! Huge congrats, Ladybee, will keep everything crossed for you. x

SO glad it's weekend, I'm shattered. Still not in bed and it's after 12, so I know I've only got myself to blame.

Nice to see everyone is well. I'm sure my MN settings changed moving things out of Thread I'm On faster, as I keep losing this thread. And much as I'd like to, I guess I can't keep posting every day "Still no news, but hey" - which is usually what I've got to say!

chipmonkey · 12/06/2010 00:52

Wow, Ladybee, Congratulations!!!

MisSalLaneous · 12/06/2010 00:57

Hey chipmonkey, you're just as bad as me. Why not asleep yet???

I'm off now. Honestly.

chipmonkey · 12/06/2010 01:53

Because I have a rare Saturday off tomorrow and I am being naughty and staying up late!

MisSalLaneous · 12/06/2010 16:58

You rebel you! I was of course terribly unimpressed with myself when I had to get up...

LadyBee · 13/06/2010 22:24

Thanks very much Sal, Chipmonkey and Denny, I'm off to the GP on wednesday and hoping he'll be able to wrangle and early scan to get a bit of reassurance. Right now I'm just grumpy and tired, but that's no different to how I am quite often .

I went on a book buying binge yesterday, I got a fab collection of traditional nursery tales, the 3 original Charlie & Lolas (DS is still addicted and at least these read like proper stories), Rosie's Walk and Elmer the elephant. We read Elmer together today and he howled with laughter when Elmer shouts 'BOOOO' at the other elephants. I think it's going to be a firm favourite - thank goodness, I'm sick to death of reading Peppa Pig's Tooth Fairy - why oh why did DH buy a set from the The Book People???

Oh I did buy some books for me too - just to add to the enormous pile of un-reads next to my bed.

chipmonkey · 13/06/2010 22:39

Fingers crossed GP will get you the scan ASAP.

Your kiddy reading list actually sounds like all my adult brain could cope with at the moment!

MisSalLaneous · 13/06/2010 22:52

Ladybee, I love Rosie's Walk. It's one of those books that I thought beautiful but not sure R would like it, and it's now one of his favourites. I'll have a look out for Elmer the Elephant. Do you have Harry the Dirty Dog? One of his other favourites, and I like the old fashioned drawings. I'm addicted to books, but have been good in not buying a lot lately.

Hi chipmonkey too.

chipmonkey · 13/06/2010 23:41

Hmmmm, Harry the Dirty Dog would be quite appropriate here!

MisSalLaneous · 13/06/2010 23:45
Grin
LadyBee · 14/06/2010 21:21

I remember Harry from when I was little. I'm a bit spoiled as we get free books as a perk at work, but it's always a bit of a lottery what will be available. I get a bit lazy about looking at what is available in the shops so when I do go in, it's like discovering there are 3 flavours of icecream I'd never heard of .

Ugh, today was such a monday-ish monday - everyone seemed to be dragging at work. Is anyone else finding there's lots of illness around? (apart from World Cup Fever, that is) Seems like everyone is suffering low-level niggly sore throats, colds etc. I think we could all do with a day in bed.

MisSalLaneous · 15/06/2010 12:07

For once we're disease-free, fingers crossed it stays that way, even if just for a couple of weeks!

I'm very jealous of you, Ladybee. I'd love a job where you got free books. I can't imagine living without books.

Denny185 · 15/06/2010 22:27

Lots of odd things going round up here too, lots of mums and kids in the close had sunstroke symptoms but obv no sun!! Im imagining the little darlings are passing it back and forth at school.

We like books here too, except 'were going on a bear hunt', I cannot stand reading that one so regularly hide it.

LadyBee · 16/06/2010 00:12

I don't get Bear Hunt either. There's one that I hated to start off with but DS loves it and it's gradually grown on me - 'Can't You Sleep Little Bear'. He likes it read to him when he's going off to sleep.

Hope the weather is good tomorrow - got my day with DS and want to meet up with a friend for play somewhere local. Not sure what we'll do if it's rainy

KnitterInTheNW · 17/06/2010 08:18

Morning, all!

LadyBee, brilliant news! Everything's crossed for you.

Our house resembles a children's library, I've stockpiled childrens books all my working life and we have a lot!

Current faves: Elmer, bear hunt, the Hairy Maclary ones, Gruffalo, Gruffalo's child, sharing a shell, room on the broom (and basically all the books by that author), he LOVES the little mole who knew it was none of his business (suggest everyone gets that one!), peepo, peppa pig (I got that set from the book people too!), and very quick ones - pants, goodnight moon and hippos go berserk. He's starting to choose some of the mr men books too as one of his bedtimme stories.

G is well at the mo, but I'm shattered!

I splashed out on some new bedding a couple of weeks ago, and I just love it! I'd had a couple of good Avon campaigns and I hadn't spent my birthday money, and had been lusting over this for a while, I keep going into our room to have a look at it on the bed! Had a dilemma when it arrived though, wasn't expecting it to arrive so quickly so put new bedding on our bed and ordered the new ones one day, and it arrived the next day. I was desperate to put the new ones on, but too lazy to want to wash and dry the old ones after being slept on for 1 night. So managed to wait a whole week, such restraint!

LadyBee · 17/06/2010 22:21

Hey thanks Knitter.

L O V E the bedding, it's lush

My GP has referred me for a scan, but I think it's going to be too early to see anything reassuring. I'll go along anyway, at least it gets me in the system and I'm feeling pretty chilled about it all.

We've got builder/decorators starting next week (I think), I'm so excited it's going to make a huge difference to our upstairs and it'll be the first thing in the house that I feel I really made choices about. Not entirely sure what babybee is going to make of it all, but he enjoys 'fixing' things so maybe he'll just get inspired by all the knocking out.

hmm. actually, maybe I shouldn't give him ideas.

Denny185 · 19/06/2010 19:22

Hope you manage to see a little bee heart beat on the scan. Is there a too early to see anything time?

What building work are you having done? I have to phone an architect back on Monday to get plans drawn up for an extension and re-jiggle downstairs, starting to get quite excited at the prospect of having things the way we want them. That said not looking forward to months of dust and disorganisation!!

Dragged kids shopping today to buy sunsuits and shoes ready for hols in 2 weeks. Felt so frazzled by the end of the day that even Kiera was sent to bed for 7pm (although she has been allowed an hour reading time) as I just want some P+Q.
