pmsl at effeminate radish - ds1 likes pink too, and pushing buggies at playgroup, and dressing up as women (well at least putting a tea towel on his head and saying he's a woman - not sure where that comes from) - but he likes all the supposedly typical boy things too so I assume he just wants to try everything out. Men are so funny about the whole issue.

kilts are at www.bareknees.co.uk - any constructive criticism would be gratefully received as it's always good to see whether the right info is on there - I know I need to update the stop press bit - will get to it this week.

oops meant to be in bed now - speak to you all soon.

conkertree · 25/03/2010 07:21

sorry - shows how long it's been since I've been on mumsnet - forgotten how to do links.

it's www.bareknees.co.uk

oddeyes - am interested that your lo didn't like formula - we were going to try it cause I wasnt sure I was still making much milk, but then dh saw the price tag and decided against (he was shopping) which I'm quite glad about cause I wasn't quite ready to give up the bf yet - but was getting down about it cause of too many night wakings.

Think my boys overall are just not the best sleepers in the world.

oddeyes - if you want encouragement to lose weight, I've signed up for www.feelfit.tv as part of a magazine article to fit back into my wedding dress along with closer diets, but think you have to pay for that one so the feel fit one is pretty good on it's own - you get an activity target per week, and you get points from all sorts of activities, not just actual exercise, so it encourages you to be a bit more active in every day life. that together with watching what I eat seems to be working for me (although it could be the horror of seeing the before picture in the magazine in my bikini that is keeping me motivated .

PuzzleRocks · 25/03/2010 10:04

No time, no time. Sooo..

at effeminate radish. If it were that simple then I almost certainly have two lesbians on my hands as blue, dungarees, cars, carrots and mud are favoured over fairies, pink, and radishes in this house.

Conker and OddEyes. Lovely to have you back.

mrsgboring · 25/03/2010 10:16

Hello all. Been very bogged down with tiredness and messy house lately so not been on here much. Sorry.

WFH sorry to hear about your mum's results. I've been thinking of you all.

Re boys and pink, I was genuinely amazed by how much macho nonsense seems to surround this. I literally spend zero time worry about what might or might not make my DSs gay. Because it sure as hell isn't being dressed in a pinkish colour. I thought there were only a few respectable theories about what causes homosexuality: that it's either hereditary or caused by hormone levels in the womb (because it's much more common in men who have a lot of older brothers and the theory is that it's the woman's body reacting to repeated exposure to male fetal hormones, or something like that). One of the women in my postnatal group was upset that her son's nursery pictogram (that they uses instead of names to help young children recognise their stuff) was a penguin. Apparently too effeminate.

Auld you should ask your DH if wearing a dress for a month would turn him gay because heterosexual male sexuality seems to be such a fragile thing

Oh god this was supposed to be a quick placemarking post and it's turned into a rant. I'll get me coat.

Bicnod · 25/03/2010 12:30

Oscar has a pink hat

Oooooooooooo he napped for 2 hours yesterday after lunch. Went to bed at 7pm, quick wake up at 2.20am and then slept through til 6.30/7.00am - miraculous! So didn't let him nap again this morning and he's been asleep since 11.50am. Fingers crossed for another 2 hour stint and another good night tonight (just in time for the clock change to bugger it all up).

Off to eat toast x

LOL MrsG

AuldAlliance · 25/03/2010 21:12

MrsG, I pointed out that DH has been known (before I reshuffled his wardrobe) to wear a dark pink polo shirt.
He said, 'Yes, but my sexual identity is well established now'. (bad translation, sorry)

PuzzleRocks · 26/03/2010 12:58

Zulu/Frogmella - I doubt I will get the chance to post this weekend so wanted to say Many Happy Returns to your little ones.

bebemoohatessnot · 26/03/2010 13:10

Hi ladies! Back from States. Moo and planes do not mix I've decided. :P I'll catch up this weekend; I've got the unpacking and washing to do (and a nap to take)

Hugs to all. Hope you're well.

Guimauve · 26/03/2010 17:16

Afternoon all. Great to see you Conker and Oddeyes! A shamefully belated Happy Birthday to BabyPringle/ Cakeforbrains' Oscar!

WFH - very sorry to hear about the test results. Thinking of you. How is your Mum at the moment? A bit of spring sunshine must help the recovery process.

Bicnod - I am amazed and pleased to find that I do not spend the whole time I am at work worrying/ thinking about H - O is going to be fine with his lovely cm.

at effeminate radish. DH, who has a fine selection of shirts in pink and lilac, was unimpressed because I bought some pink spoons. Spoons! I ask you.

There is the faintest possibility of a tooth here. Everything is crossed. No willy-pulling at all though

Guimoeuf · 26/03/2010 17:18

Oh, and.. ^ ...for Easter

Bicnod · 26/03/2010 18:24

Oscar stretches his willy so far in the bath I'd swear it's elastic.

Guimoeuf · 26/03/2010 18:54

Well, they are notorious for changing size...

Schulte · 26/03/2010 20:13

Gui

conkertree · 26/03/2010 22:04

sorry - been away so long - what was your previous name guimmoeuf?

bicond - i'm glad someone elses ds does that - am starting to think my dss are slightly abnormal - am delaying potty training with ds1 cause he asks to sit on the potty more to play with himself than to pee as far as i can see.

Guimoeuf · 27/03/2010 06:35

Hey Conker - I'm Juwesm, but got a little bored!

Guimoeuf · 27/03/2010 06:37

Oh yes, happy first birthday to BabyWarrior!

BabyBolat · 27/03/2010 07:24

Happy Birthday BabyWarrior xxx

WhatFreshHellIsThis · 27/03/2010 15:15

Happy Birthday BabyWarrior and BabyFrogmella for tomorrow!

I have just baked Orbit's birthday cake - chocolate, as DS1 wouldn't hear of any other kind being suitable. We are having his birthday tea tomorrow as then my sister and mum can come over - he'll be at nursery on Monday so will have another birthday tea there. (Which means I have to bake another cake, too....)

Orbit moved into his own room this morning - I feel a bit sad, but I know it's the right thing to do. He's asleep in there right now, so clearly isn't too traumatised by the experience.

Am also paralysed with fear that we've gone and made another one after an exceptional - ahem - marital occurrence the other day. Was very very lovely, but oh god this would so be the wrong time to have a third child! Will be keeping everything crossed. Particularly legs

Am going to go and crash out in front of Harry Potter while Orbit plays. DP has taken DS1 to the shops to buy secrets.

ZuluWarrior · 27/03/2010 18:41

Have just got rid of the family after a lovely birthday tea. Babywarrior is in bed half an hour early exhausted. I cannot believe I've had him for a year! This time last year I was off my tits on gas and air.

Thanks for all your birthday wishes. Hope you're all well xx

dawntigga · 27/03/2010 19:03

Happy birthday Baby Warrior and Frogmella. Might not get on tomorrow to say Hippo Birdie 2 Ewe

WFH am trying to get The Cub to sleep in his own cot at the moment. We'll work on moving him later!

MustSetUpHerNCSSCheckListTiggaxx

Bicnod · 27/03/2010 19:43

Happy birthday Babywarrior

Aw, bless Orbit in his own room. There'll be more opportunity for rumpy with him out of your room so you'd better be careful

Tigs, good luck with NCSS. O is now sleeping better again having recovered from his tummy troubles and has slept through the last couple of nights. Can't believe it really - but we are living proof that NCSS can work so let that give you hope!

Mmmmmmmmmm, DH has just poured me a glass of red wine, about to watch next episode of 24 and there's ice-cream too. Perfick

BabyBolat · 27/03/2010 19:58

Oooh WFH, I know I need to put K in his room but 'I DONT WANT TOO!' I am just going to miss him too much! In the new house we will be on the same floor so thinking that might be a good time to make the move (and it still gives me a few months to get my head round the idea!). Is it wrong that I am secretly hoping for another April mums baby??... sorry will behave now!! Bic, sorry if I have missed it, how is your ttc2 going?

Yay for yummy birthday tea zulu. Did you have a good time?

Bicnod, what is NCSS? (and a rough description). K is great sleeping now apart from that one 2am feed that I just cannot kick. Some nights he barely touches it and I think yay he clearly doesn't need it anymore, not long now, and then he goes and has 7 ounces!

Oooh nice night Bicnod, our chinese is on the way, Kara is in bed. We are almost done with his anti-b's now so the snot and unk is almost finished.

Went shopping today for Kara's birthday presents, got him lots of little Mickey Mouse toy bits, some clothes and a giant tigger toy from the Disney Shop which he will adore (although feel a bit bad that the dress I bought for his birthday party was more expensive than all his presents ! Although to be fair, the whole party malarky is costing much more.

Right chinese is here... Frogmella, have a great day tomorrow xxx
