BG totally agree. Fizi we use a combination of fleece (we got a few free) and paper liners. Using one as the bumgenius site said to if your using sudacream etc. Apparently LO has her mothers sensitive skin.

We're normally contained (leeks maybe once or twice a week), recently she's been pooing once a day. Yesterday however, we had four. The first of which went through her nappy and clothes, onto DH's dressing grown and through to his clothes and skin. He looked completly shell shocked afterwards . It was extremely funny.

GuernseyFrench · 13/05/2010 21:51

Fizi I used paper liner and they contain poo well. i use Bambino Mio cut in half lenghway. \

I'm off to France tomorrow can't wait!!!!

BabyGiraffes · 13/05/2010 21:53

My LO has done two of those liquid poos that go through everthing in the last two days . Dd1 looked totally shocked - she is usually there like a shot to watch the baby's nappy being changed, but this was a bit much...

bethylou · 13/05/2010 22:52

My DS1 regularly says, "Wow! Look at the size of that!" at his own poos in the potty and also likes to take a close look at what DS2 has produced. Male toilet humour obviously starts early. Can't imagine what the MIL (aka Mrs Bucket) will think of this!

AngelaCarleen · 13/05/2010 23:00

Bethylou DD has been rolling from front to back for nearly two weeks. It's most annoying when I try to massage her back on a night time, everytime I lift my hand she tries to chuck herself off the changing table .

BG DD loves talking to the telly. She's dead loud when she does it too. She also talks to the mobile over her cot, and gets very annoyed when it doesn't talk back.

Someone has lent me a wrap to try out, it's amazing! I'm trying to convince DH to let me buy one, she looks so cosy tucked up in it.

Someone asked me if I was planning to start weaning soon (DD 16 weeks on monday), I was a bit , I think I've been trying to avoid dealing with the fact that it's not far away and loads of people would be starting weaning at 4 months. I have decided she's too little for the time being. My mum said 'but look at her watching you eat!', my reply 'she watches me knit aswell, but I'm not going to give her needles and wool either'.

BabyGiraffes · 14/05/2010 10:32

AC at your LO rolling, that's REALLY early! Don't think my LO gets enough time on the floor or tummy. Partly because it's too cold on the floor (wind whistling through floorboards in this house...) and partly because there is too much traffic (of the tricylce kind)...

BabyGiraffes · 14/05/2010 10:34

er, tricycle

ClimberChick · 14/05/2010 19:39

wonder where in the world stoof is atm

bethylou · 14/05/2010 22:09

Believe me, DCs rolling this early is not a good thing in my opinion, as DS2 keeps getting in the way of the traintrack/tractor etc.. belonging to DS1!! Also a problem at night when he's trying to do it too (in his cot, not over a Brio traintrack!)

InmaculadaConcepcion · 15/05/2010 09:06

Re night nappies... we use our regular Pop-Ins, but with a night booster insert. Makes it rather bulky, but I don't think that's the reason for DD's protests...just tiredness usually! If she's not sleeping on her side they don't leak. The only poo leaks we've had have been when she's been wearing disposables. We always use fleece liners because otherwise DD gets galloping nappy rash.. We've just started using this Green Baby nappy balm - smells absolutely gorgeous and her skin is wonderfully soft... Bepanthol seems to be good at getting rid of nappy rash when it appears...

Glad DD isn't rolling yet! It's very handy to be able to leave her on her changing mat for a couple of minutes to rinse out the nappy...

As for weaning, AC, your DD is less than four months corrected for prematurity, so you can tell the early weaners to hold their horses a bit!!

Yay to the LOs having character! DD has started doing these cute gurgly noises in tandem with me now, we're working up quite a decent duet...!!

Well, DD may be almost 16 weeks, but those 5S still seem to work...just managed to calm her from overtired to sleep using them (with a bit of persistance...)

Bethylou I agree 110% with rolling not being a good thing. She's almost there with the rolling all the way over now and I'm thinking I'm going to have to start seriously child proofing, grr. Managed to catch her on camera yesterday though so I can put it on her blog for her daddy.

Am I a bit nuts for thinking that she's missing her daddy? She seems to have been a bit more restless than usual for the past couple of evenings. I suppose it could be down to any number of things, but I wonder if she's noticed that he's not been here since Sunday?

IC I have no intention of weaning her before she's ready, I don't think it would work with BLW somehow anyway, lol. I can't figure out why everyone is so keen to see her eating, I want her to be a baby for a bit longer .

Can't believe our babies are growing up so fast.

ClimberChick · 15/05/2010 15:44

Just been back and re-read the start of our thread. Us all swapping birth stories and complaining of sore nipples, seems like a lifetime ago now doesn't it. Now, here are starting to think about our weaning preferences (even though I'm ages away from that yet).

The modified 5S get used about once a day for us, sometimes she gets more and more worked up on me (I think when I catch her too late). I just swaddle her, put on her side and pop the dummy in. Sometimes have to swing her, but I find shhhh really tiring, so skip that part.

Angela wonder if she's picking up on you presumably missing DH.

I've tried using nappy balm as we have some lovely organic stuff, but maybe two goes without sudacream and she gets sore.

stoofadoof · 15/05/2010 19:39

ergh? am home! NEVER again! we're all in one piece? DD and DS now in bed asleep, me and DH desperately trying to stay up a bit longer, but don't think it'll be long? strikes me that we should probably try and keep their hours rather than the usual trying to get into the right time zone as soon as possible?. will see how we get on tonight!

will catch up properly in a few days, but WAHEY!

watercress · 15/05/2010 20:11

Well done Stoof! Good to hear my cosmic twin is in the same time zone as me...
