Can you believe our LOs start school this year? Have any of you heard about your school choices, a friend of mine who lives in Wiltshire has just informed. She got her 2nd choice BTW

DD1 is in nursery every morning, but is getting a bit bored and is sooooo ready for school. Was having a wee look through some of our post-natal threads, it's Sunday morming and I have 2 hrs to myself, and just can't believe that was nearly 5 years ago.

We have applied for an out of catchment school for ds. We are just over the line for catchment, so have a bit of a chance of him getting in. We will hear by 30th April.

Johnny is doing really well. He has his moments, but overall is pretty laid back. He is currently obsessed with trains, planes and any other kind of vehicle.

Still breastfeeding believe it or not. No doubt it will intensify when ds2 arrives in the next couple of days/weeks. He went boob crazy when I broke my ankle 6 weeks ago and he started having to spend a lot more time away from me.

Hope you are all well.

ElfOnTheTopShelf · 19/02/2010 22:27

Wow - have just been catching up on the threads.

MB - congrats on the pregnancy, I came searching for the threads again to see if you were having another, so happy for you

From the sounds of it, I'm the only one whose Oct 05 little one doesn't have a brother or sister (older or younger!). Best get cracking .

mawbroon · 20/02/2010 09:55

Hey Elf!! Lovely to see you back on here. It's been ages.

You always did say that you weren't going to ttc another til Evie was 4 or 5 didn't you? And you are way younger than me and RTL

I got my plaster cast off on Tuesday and am into an orthopaedic moonboot now. I can walk (or rather waddle) without crutches around the house and only really need one outside to steady me if the ground is uneven.

Johnny says he can't wait to meet his wee brother. He is so excited

I can't believe that it's 5 years since we were all pg with our Oct 05 babies. But then on the other hand, I look at Johnny and wonder where my baby went. but at the same time IYKWIM

ponto · 25/02/2010 21:46

Wow, a new thread! Nice to hear from you RTL and Elf (and you of course mawbroon!)

We have applied for an out of catchment school too, but it is the one that dd1 is at, so are hopeful that Alice will get in too.

Can't believe that 5 years ago when I joined the antenatal thread that I only had a toddler and I thought I was busy then! Life is chaos with 3 dds but good fun too and they all play together well, at least some of the time.

Hope the other Oct 05 mums migrate over here to join us.

RedTartanLass · 01/03/2010 22:34

Oh wow what a coincidence just clicked on this thread when I received an eamil from Maw Broon, telling about her new arrival. Congratulations!!! OMG he's beautiful!!! Elf and Ponto lovely to see your LOs pics on your profiles, how times flies eh?

Hello all!! Congrats to MB, seen piccie on facebook & he is just beautiful!

Lovely to have a new thread, I haven't been on here in ages so it was a nice surprise.

Thomas is happy in his welsh school, we haven't heard yet if he has got his place there yet for September but fingers crossed because he loves it.

Ds2 is nearly 19 months old now and so much more active then Thomas ever was. He is into everything and always on the go.

RedTartanLass · 02/03/2010 20:19

Oh Hi Yorkefleet, long time no see. Lovely to know some of the "old gang" still about.

ponto · 02/03/2010 22:36

Yes, congratulations mawbroon! How did the birth go?

Yokefleet, hope you get the school you want. Are you learning Welsh too? I tried a few years ago but didn't get very far so decided to opt for English speaking schools for the girls.

Yokefleet · 05/03/2010 19:38

rtl - less of the old!! hehe
Ponto, I'm not learning welsh properly yet (just picking up bits from Thomas & my 6yo niece at the minute!) but hope to learn properly once ds2 starts full time school as all the courses were very time consuming.

RedTartanLass · 05/03/2010 22:09

When I was wee before I moved to Scotland, I used to speak fluenet Welsh. Can't now thouhg, just can sing HAppy Birthday in Welsh, shut your mouth and count to 12! Hope MB is doing all right.

Great news RTL, we got good news on Saturday too about Thomas' school place. The other great thing is that his best friend got his place too which came as a suprise to his mum!! she was sure she was going to have to appeal.

mawbroon · 22/04/2010 08:01

Hi guys. I forgot all about this thread

Things ok ish here:

ds2 doing great, no hassle at all

ds1 needing lots of attention and becoming a drama queen over the tiniest thing. He has been pale and lethargic for months and months now, so doc arranged bloods to be done and we are waiting for the results. He has also been complaining about a banging noise in his ear since before christmas so we are waiting for an appointment to get it checked out.

As predicted, he is wanting to nurse all the time and if I refuse he will do stuff like pretending to kiss ds2 but then shoving his head off my boob and trying to muscle in. I've even had to lock myself in the bathroom just so that poor ds2 can get fed ffs. Mostly he is ok about it though.

ankle: doing ok. Walking a fair bit, but things still not right as my knee is sore, hopefully can get it sorted soon.

Hope you are all well.

Elf are you on facebook? I have the rest of you as fb friends.

Dlamis · 04/05/2010 00:00

Hi all.

Congratulations Mawbroon .
We have a drama queen here too. Amazing tantrums over the most trivial things.

YF - ds2 (2.2 now - where did the time go!!) is the same here too. So much more into things than ds1. Follows ds1 around, copies him and at times ds2 is the ringleader when they are both up to mischief. I find them wrestling with ds2 pinning ds1 down. Fortunately ds1 is so goodnatured he lets ds2 get away with so much.

I don't think i've been on the thread for months so many things going on over the last year. I had a heartattack last July. It was abit of a shock! and we still don't know why. None of the usual risk factors/explanations apply to me . I'm ok now but it's taken along time to get here. I've even joined a gym to help rehabilitate. I'm probably fitter now than I was before the HA! The biggest effect on me I think is that it makes you rethink about what's really important in life and I don't (usually) get so stressed out at all the trivial stuff anymore. It kind of put a halt on going for dc3 though

I've even started childminding again last week which has slightly cured my broodiness for no.3. It's lovely having 3 around and ds1 and ds2 both love mindee (7 months) but OMG it's busy with 3! It's fun but nice to be able to give one back at the end of the day

Yokefleet · 05/05/2010 21:47

OMG Dlamis!! what a year you have had! Glad you are ok now, must have been a real shock!
Tantrums a plenty here too, Thomas is sooooo stroppy! everyone else who sees him think he is a little angel!!

ElfOnTheTopShelf · 11/05/2010 21:55

Hi all,

We heard about Evelyn's school placement and she got into the school we wanted as first choice. She's very excited as it means she gets to wear the red uniform; as she wasn't keen on the blue

Evelyn is generally well behaved, though she is so flipping energetic and on the go all the time. Everybody comments on her energy levels, she can be draining sometimes. We have to be careful when she's around younger children, as she's pretty head-strong and strong, she doesn't seem to know how to ration her strength!

She goes to a dance class and is learning tap and ballet, and is in her first dance show in July. I've been to my cousins when she was younger, and the younger kids tend to get stage fright and start a mexican wave of burting into tears on the stage, so we will see how it goes!

DH was made redundant in January and that is still an issue, and we were broken into at the beginning of March, so I haven't had the best start to 2010, but we're all still well and healthy which is what matters at the end of the day.

MB - I'm on FB, would be good to add you as a friend (and the others on the thread too!). Glad to hear that your DS2 arrived safely

DLAMIS - blimey re the HA, glad to hear you are on the mend.

Hope everybody is well. I've been off mumsnet for a while; I had a few months of feeling utterly drained, depressed and fed up, and I lost interest in a lot of sites I used to freqent in. But, generally, feeling a bit better in myself and venturing back onto the online world again

Yokefleet · 16/05/2010 13:21

Rtl those names are a blast from the past! I had a look at the old pages when Thomas was about 1, will have to have another look, what a lifetime ago that all was!!

Thomas is really stroppy at the minute, yesterday we had 1/2hr of screamming and slamming doors etc because I wanted him to wear shorts to school instead of his usual school trousers!! I was exhausted before it even got to 7.30am!! He winges over everything at the min from what he is given for brekkie to which pair of pajamas he is going to wear at night!! its exhausting!! lol x

RedTartanLass · 10/10/2018 19:44

And now they are teenagers!!
