Ninjacat · 17/02/2010 17:39

Ah Scarlottie I'm sure even Nigela has her off days.

skorpion · 17/02/2010 18:38

Hi ninja, thanks again for the recipe. I wasn't planning to bake it immediately but have just started a diary/recipe book and wanted it in there. Hope Alfie is well, and DP too. Have you recovered from your problems with the stitches?

scarlotti that sounds like a fun evening. I think I've been really lucky so far Lucy's not been producing anything too dramatic from either end.

skorpion · 17/02/2010 19:09

Is it me or are all these babies the cutest little bunch?

skorpion · 17/02/2010 19:09

I mean I've just had a look on facebook...

PavlovtheCat · 17/02/2010 20:01

wizzy, i am so so sorry that your mum has passed away . Please remember we are all here, you can talk to us any time you want to . I lost my my mum 3 years ago in january, and it feels like yesterday. If you ever want to talk about anything, email me on facebook or i will give you my email addy. We (i) are are here for you ok?.

Have you recovered from your operation ok now?

WizzyWoo · 17/02/2010 20:40

Hi Everyone

Thank you all so much for your supportive messages. It makes me feel a bit better. Today has been possibly the lowest day since mum died but it's helped to know there are people I can speak to.

Claire Daniel's skin condition is ok, thanks. It takes a lot of work to keep it hydrated otherwise his skin comes off in sheets or forms hard scaly patches but now that I've got into a routine with his creams, it's manageable.

Laugs That's so kind, thank you. It would be lovely to meet up again. Are you free next Thursday afternoon? Perhaps we could meet up with the babies in Newcastle...

Pav Now that I'm over the complications, I've recovered from my operation well thanks. I can eat whatever I like pretty much, although I've discovered that I'm intolerant to sausage and chips from the chippy and too much double cream, both of which were only an occasional treat anyway so I'm not too bothered.

Was today your court date with Bodge the Builder? If so, I hope you opened up a whole can of whoop-ass on him, as my teenage niece would say!!

Scarlotti How old is Ioan? I was thinking of getting a bumbo for Daniel since he seems desperate to see what's going on but wasn't sure what age it's for. LOL at the poo/watch scenario. I'm sure even Nigella has tales like that to tell!

Does anyone else find that breastfeeding babies seem to be permanently hungry in the evening? I'm typing with Daniel latched on as otherwise I wouldn't get anywhere near my laptop and he keeps stopping and getting cross since my typing is disturbing him!

PavlovtheCat · 17/02/2010 21:12

wizzy Reuben is always hungry at night, he cluster feeds even now and I do not think he would sleep a long stretch if he did not, he stocks up for the night i think!

Court hearing was fine. I rocked up looking bloody professional i have to say! DH and Walked in to court reception in our suits and with Reuben in his car seat, he got lots of coos and aaaahhs and the builder sat in the corner pretending to read a magazine with his wife (i presume) and there was no happiness at all between them, she did not even give him a kiss good luck! I went in on my own, the judge knew DH was outside waiting with Reuben in case he was called (DD was at a friend's house). Outcome was that we have agreed for an independent surveyor to come and view the loft conversion. The judge said to me 'is there anything he will be able to see now you have had it completed by another builder?' 'ooooooh yes, there are plenty of mistakes still staring us in the face for him to see' i said! We also both agreed to mediation ha! which i agreed to be involved in on the condition if we cannot reach a solution i am happy with, we continue with the court process. Judge said of course. Fine by me, i will not accept anything less than half what i am owed, and seeing as he thinks i owe him, he will not agree. I just cannot wait for the surveyor to visit. The case is ours.

I wish i had become a lawyer. It is too late now

Laugs · 17/02/2010 21:23

Wizzy Yes, I'm free next Thurs! I'll email you.

Ninja that must have been horrible taking Alfie to A&E. Is he on the mend? I'm also hoping James won't develop the same respiratory problems as DD. I wish there were something you could do.
I sort of feel like I know James now. It's funny, DD's smile was always really bright and confident, whereas his seems more shy and sweet. I just love him more and more each day He would be tiny next to Alfie - he is about 13lb.
Is DP working or at home with you?
I am reviewing some children's fiction at the moment, which is great as my brain couldn't cope with anything more.

PavlovtheCat · 17/02/2010 21:27

ninja sorry i did not post, i wanted to post quickly to wizzy. I am sorry you had to go to A&E, hope all is ok now .

laugs am envious of your meetup there is no-one in the arse end of the country is there?

TOK · 17/02/2010 21:34

Very sorry to hear about your mum wizzy, you know we are always here.

Glad things went well today Pav. Remind me never to cross you !

Had a very embarrassing episode in debenhams the other day. My sister and I had taken dcs into town and popped in there for lunch. I took Anya to change her nappy while ds finished his food, then when I came back ds filled his nappy. So, as I normally do, I lifted wipes and a nappy and headed off the the baby changing room. Well, the poo had leaked everywhere, it was gross! I had not brought the change bag in with me so I thought, I'll just take his vest off and put the rest of his clothes back on again. At this point another mum came in and sat down to wait until I was finished. I pulled the vest off him without realising how far the poo has leaked and so dragged the poo right up his back . He was stood on the changing table butt naked, looking in the mirror at himself, notices the poo, says "what's that mummy?" and proceeds to wipe his hands over his back. The other mum is hanging herself laughing as ds asks me "what's that smell?", ah, that would be you son! I had to give him a full wash down and take him into the cafe with no trousers on to get his change of clothes. The joys of motherhood !

Trikken · 17/02/2010 22:25

Wizzy hope you are ok, so sad hearing about your mum. sending a hug here. x

Pav Im fairly far down the arse but not near enough to make a quick journey which is a shame, I too am envious of these close enough to meet. some-one take their laptop, I'll do a video call!

PavlovtheCat · 17/02/2010 22:28

trikken where are you? I can do a halfway meet? Maybe in the summer we can do a camping meet? !!! seeing as if you are close to me, we are in beautiful surroundings! . I don't mind travelling 2 hours or for a coffee and a cake though , have done it before !

Trikken · 17/02/2010 22:38

Near Dorchester in Dorset, are you Devon? (apologese if not) I would be up for a half-way meet definately if it is possible.

SirBoobAlot · 17/02/2010 22:40

Pavolv you're wanted

PavlovtheCat · 17/02/2010 22:48

sirboobalot loving your name!

trikken i am sure we have talked before about meeting ? ! I am indeed in Devon. I know where Dorchester is, i stayed in Charmouth once, and remember seeing the signs! I have been to dorset a few times actually, love it there.

Have you ever gone camping? I say that, as I have some vague semblence of an idea if you like the idea of a yurt...

ButterPie · 17/02/2010 22:49

wizzy So sorry to hear about your mum, I am nearby too, so any time you need a brew, just ask!

Trikken · 17/02/2010 22:50

google maps reckons it would be about 2 hrs 10 by car, and 3 hours 20 by public transport to get to where you are roughly Pav. we could possibly meet up in Exeter or the such-like?

ButterPie · 17/02/2010 22:53

Oh, and I would like to take this opportunity to invite you all to my wedding. You were all such brilliant support while I was pregnant with Emmeline. I think I have invited a lot of you on fb, but I am rubbish so have probably missed some, and not all of you are on there.

28th August, in Gateshead. Contact me for more details if you think you can come.

Trikken · 17/02/2010 22:53

yes, love camping but havent done it for a while. think the last time was actually in my back garden!

Ninjacat · 17/02/2010 22:59

Pav Alfie is fine, he is on the mend I hope. Reuben has been ill too, no? I hope he is keeping his temp down.

Laugs so impressed you are working.

Why is it that Alfie gives me time to read but cries when I go to write?

PavlovtheCat · 17/02/2010 23:03

Trikken - so perhaps ottery st Mary would be good? for example? If my idea is no good (i shant say til i have probed something...) we could meet at one of the NT places near exeter? I how lovely would that be!

ButterPie · 17/02/2010 23:04

I'm LissyGlitter btw, just realised you might think i was some weirdo passer by!

Initials AD on fb.

Trikken · 17/02/2010 23:18

that sounds like a good plan, Pav. hope we can work something out. will say night to you all now, is past my bed-time! hope everyone sleeps well tonight.

PavlovtheCat · 17/02/2010 23:25

sleep well trikken Butterpie I knew it was you ! You told us earlier and i read the post! Why the name change? which i like btw!

ButterPie · 17/02/2010 23:31

I realised that I have been using "glittery" names online since I was about 13, and thought, as a 25 year old mother of two, it might be time to get a new online identity
