Hi everyone, I'm new to Mumsnet and am hoping for some advice/guidance from you!

I am expecting my first baby (a girl) in March and have lived in Bounds Green for about 18 months. I moved to London over 10 years ago but many of my fiends have moved away now and my closest friends and family have remained in the Midlands. As such I don't have much of a support network...

I am really excited about becoming a Mum but do have pangs of anxiety that me and my babe are going to be a bit isolated! I have just passed my driving test so we are at least mobile and I'd love to meet some Mums and babies for us to become friends with.

I am starting maternity leave on February 18th (edd March 18th) and would like to join some groups before and after the baby comes.

Does anyone have any recommendations?

Sorry for the long post, J x

Hi there - sorry no-one replied! We're a mile or so from Bounds Green, in Harringay and I went to a great group for first time mums from birth to 1-ish. It's at the Woodlands Park nursery on Woodlands Road (just off St Ann's Road if you know where that is). There's also a breastfeeding group there. I can't remember what days these are on but sure you can find the number and ask.

Having said that there's going to be things closer to you. Not always easy to find out as a lot isn't on the web. Ask the health visitor as they should be able to give you information about local groups.

Best of luck with it all!
