Hello expert moms,

I knew that babies have a lot of wind problems at this stage but what Amrit ( born 15 oct.) is going through is rather dificult for me to handle.

He has a lot of wind,e specially while drinking from my breast. The wind bothers him so much that he cannot drink properly and is crying half the time while drinking. This problem started a few days back and I have no clue what can I do to make it easier for him and for myself.

Has anyone some wise advice?

Thanks a lot!

Have you followed the BF diet? (everybody seems to be aware of it so nobody will tell you before the problems start. My case! I didn't have a clue!)
I used to ate a lot of fruits (grappes, citrus....) that gives babies a lot lot of winds
There are other food too, but I can't remember, can you ask your MW or BF advisor about it?
Is he hachting properly, he might swallow air while sucking?
Same here you should have BF councellor or MW to look at the way he is getting on.

Hi NectarMom! Those first weeks are awful aren't they. My two are older now, thank goodness!

You'll get a lot more answers if re-post your question in Breast and Bottle feeding here. I know Infacol(SP?) helps a lot of babies but I don't know if it's available without prescription in the UK.

Oh, by the way, are you new to MN? Most people don't post babies names on here because that in combination with other things you post can allow people to work out who you are in real life

If you have a nosy mother in law (or if you've ever mentioned MN to anyone you know), you may want to change your name to protect your privacy. Or maybe I'm just paranoid
