AprilMeadow · 25/01/2010 17:39

So pleased you received it (eventually - should have been with you on Friday) and that you liked them

Themasterandmargaritas · 25/01/2010 17:43

Of course we wish we could be with you.

Tillyscoutsmum · 25/01/2010 18:06

Has no one mentioned to Jam that we've all booked tickets so we can gatecrash ?

AprilMeadow · 25/01/2010 18:28

OMG now that would be cool!

JamInMyWellies · 25/01/2010 20:49

Back now from all the tea, bath, & bed.

I really am shocked but delighted at the gift from you all. Thankyou so very much. The champagne flutes are beautiful as is the photo frame.

I am loving all of these Have just finished my lovely Haggis neeps & tatties for my tea.

Well we are pretty much packed just need to do the boys trunki full of toys and books and most importantly sweeties. We have to leave at 6am to be able to get round the M25. It is going to be a very long day with probably yucky grumpy boys by the end of it.

Am sure I will post on Friday in a total panic. But on Friday evening at 7pm (2pm NY time) raise a mug of tea, glass of squash or very large glass of wine to the sky as we will be underway.

LG&T hope the weenie ones are better soon.

Charley what a fecker about your hair. Mind you its a good excuse to go again next wk.

PJ, Tilly hope those boys buck up their ideas and stop screaming etc.

Abbey is it half term yet?

TMAM how is DD?

SKY

Pebble blimey that was an essay. HopeE is better.

SOH I know you are lurking I have seen you on other threads. x.

Right got to go.

Much love to you all. mwah mwah mwah.

I think Lucy may well have croup Last night and tonight she has been coughing seal like. Just been into her and i could really hear her breathing loudly (if that makes sense) and then her little cry was sad, and the cough was like a seal.. I think i will just put a bowl of water in her room for the night to see if that helps. I do have a humidifier but its in Jack's wardrobe (not much help there).

I've not come across this before.... is there anything else i should do?

largeginandtonic · 26/01/2010 05:32

Good morning Jammy

Glad you liked the gifts You will be frantically packing atm i expect. Hope you get off on time and it all goes well. Will be thinking of you.

AM steamy bathroom for croup, poor little girl

Why do mine get up so fecking early?

Moijaimelacountry · 26/01/2010 07:39

Have a safe trip Jam.... So exciting!

lg&t 05.32am.. jee thats the middle of the night! Are they really up and about at that time? Mine are not allowed out of their bedrooms before 8am, tis a mummys house rule. How are the littles now? Is B keeping anything down yet, it's been a few day now!

How is Lucy this morning AM? Croup can be nasty, steam is the way to ease.

Waves to everyone else.

School run.

largeginandtonic · 26/01/2010 09:15

If B and B did not share a room i would leave them to yell. They wake each other and big B could not be trusted alone with little B.

5am is just too early. Better than 430 that has been known.

Little B has kept down some milk this morning

OP posts:
largeginandtonic · 26/01/2010 11:00

She has pooed it out.

OP posts:
Moijaimelacountry · 26/01/2010 11:26

lg&t, the local french round here swear by some boiled rice unwashed and cooked in a little salt for gastro problems, could be worth a little try?

largeginandtonic · 26/01/2010 12:01

Mrsjb my French friend up the road told me that last week

That and carrots and quince. Blue rejected the rice though

I have just made her eggy bread with a little sugar in it. She is eating it!

Fingers crossed.

OP posts:
Moijaimelacountry · 26/01/2010 12:51

ohhh not heard of carrots and quince before? I have a lovely quince tree in the garden though. YUmmm my kids LOVE quince jelly with their roasts.

I think the rice thing is to do with the starch helping the intestines to recover or summit.

Tillyscoutsmum · 26/01/2010 17:27

Hope the eggy bread has stayed in Gin. I did a fab variation of eggy bread for me the other day with a nutella and banana sandwich soaked in eggs/milk/sugar/cinnamon/vanilla essence. Weight watchers would not approve but I needed the energy for feeding [fat git emoticon]

I think/hope we may be getting somewhere with Ferg. I have suspected for a while that he has silent refkux and thrush but HV said no. Took him for cranial osteopathy at the weekend and he thought reflux sounded likely as well (as well as some compressed skull issues). Took him to GP today (after HV again said she didn't think I was right and GP immediately dx'd thrush and probable reflux. F has had one dose of infant gaviscon and has stopped screaming and fallen asleep for the first time all day

Fingers crossed

AM - hope L's croup clears up. Til had it and its horrible to hear that awful cough

Pebblemum · 26/01/2010 22:29

LG&T I know its not ideal for LO's but a bit of fizzy lemonade can sometimes help sickness. My neighbour's daughter's been ill for the past two days, constantly throwing up and screaming in pain. She was unable to keep anything down until she had a small glass. The poor thing was getting so dehydrated but it seemed to do the trick.

E is fine, had today off as he had a really bad coughing fit at breakfast and I didnt think it was worth the risk of sending him only to be called in to pick him up a couple of hours later. That and the fact both DH and I had been up all night with A as well as it being D's 1st birthday, it all contributed to the decision lol. Poor A has got what E had but seems 10x worse. All night she was either wimpering or breathing really oddly, going from fast shallow breaths to stopping altogether for a few heart stopping seconds then starting with the fast breathing again. Every time there was a long gap in her breathing we both sat up with a start. She was burning up too. Shes still not right, still burning up, complaining of stomach ache etc. D isnt too bad, coughing a bit but thats it luckily. Im sure the damp throughout the flat isnt helping them but the council seem to think that if they drag things out it will magically disappear.

Talking of the bloody council I have to start my nagging campaign again. Before Christmas I was seeing my housing officer every week, checking up on what was going on but what with Christmas and that lovely snow we had, i havent been to annoy see him for a while. We are supposed to be top priority to be moved, 6 of us in a 2 bed flat (4 of us in one room) is severe overcrowding plus the damp in every room. Since we were told that though I have heard of two other families who were supposed to be less in need of rehousing, being moved. One of them was that horrible boy that has made J's life hell. They were a horrible family, always annoying the neighbours yet they've got a lovely house now and the dad made sure the council put in a new kitchen, bathroom, painted it etc before he would move in. I was glad to see the back of them but at the same time im angry, perhaps if my kids were little shits and I wasnt so nice we would be living in luxury now

D had a lovely birthday even though he didnt really know what all the fuss was about. Due to everyone feeling a bit rough or knackered we just had a small tea for my parents and sister, not the party involving all the neighbours as I had previously planned but it was still nice. My house looked like a bombs hit it though, toys everywhere. Im sure they played with everything they own tonight. The older ones cleared up their mess but by the time everyone left I just wanted to get the kiddies in bed. Ive tidied up most of it but will do a proper job in the morning

Have a lovely wedding Jam and I will be sure to raise a glass to you both on Friday, good excuse to buy a bottle of wine/bacardi/anything alcoholic in fact Cant let the occassion go by without a toast to the happy couple lol

Pebblemum · 26/01/2010 22:35

AM when J had croup it was horrible. I was told to sit him in a steamy bathroom. Unfortunately he had it quite bad and ended up on a nebuliser at the hospital but other people swear by it. I hope L is soon better

LG&T we had the vom bug at the beginning of December, each one of us getting it although J only had a mild form. On one occassion it was both me and dh down with it and A, D, and E still in recovery. It was Hell and not something I wish to repeat, ever Hope your LO's are soon on the mend

largeginandtonic · 27/01/2010 05:16

Tills Blue pooed the eggy bread out. I am too depressed to talk about it.

Think i will get some lemonade today. Big B has just had a very runny poo. Bizzare considering he was sick Sunday night/early hours Monday? I am flumoxed.

Have been up with them since 430am. I am going to have to go to bed early tonight, it's getting ridiculous

Tis H's birthday today!!! He is 5!!! My little blonde curly cutie.

Mrsjb lucky you with the quince tree! How yum.

Tills i am so glad you have a dx and some meds. I had a friend with the same thing and as soon as her baby was dx he improved within 24hrs too Long may the calm baby continue.

Pebble at the council! Keep on at them. Hope that E has had a better night and D is ok too.

I am cold.

largeginandtonic · 27/01/2010 05:19

AM how was L last night?

OP posts:
Tillyscoutsmum · 27/01/2010 05:22

Gin. Poor B&B

Happy birthday to the gorgeous H

The calm didn't last long. We've been up all night He just seems in so much pain. The gaviscon might work if I could get the feckin stuff into him ! I'm in bits. Can't stop crying. Broke down in front of the doc. So pathetic.

largeginandtonic · 27/01/2010 05:37

Oh Tills

What did the doc say? Can he refer you to a paed? That is what you need really. Does he vom after a feed?

You must be exhausted.

OP posts:
largeginandtonic · 27/01/2010 05:39

oh excuse my stoopid link. I meant to do

i blame the lack of sleep.

OP posts:
Tillyscoutsmum · 27/01/2010 05:46

No vom - just lots of screaming and gagging. Tummy is really tight and gurgling. He's asleep on me now but just won't be put down. Not sure if its just really bad trapped wind and/or silent reflux or something more serious GP said to try Gaviscon for a couple of days and go back then. He just spits it out though. Need to try some in a feed but need to sterilise and faff about with the pump. Every minor task just seems enormous, y'know ?

Must stop whingeing now. Sorry

largeginandtonic · 27/01/2010 06:02

I do know chick. It is hell. Sleep deprivation makes everthing 10x worse too.

It does sound like horrid colic tbh. One twin had it. The screaming would start at about 4 and sometimes last till 1am. The only plus is they grow out of it.

I am sure it is nothing more serious. Honestly.

Keep a log of his behaviour, it iseasier to pin point patterns if you do this. Another faff i know.

I just had a mini melt down in the kitchen if it makes you feel any better. Blue screaming at me fore juice and big B asking for breafast. I said "It's **ing bedtime not breakfast time"

He got handed 3 rich tea

OP posts:
Tillyscoutsmum · 27/01/2010 06:11

LOL at your rant. I told Til the other day that if she didn't stop banging her drum whilst I was trying to get F to sleep, then I would shove it her up her **ing arse Poor child
