Think yourself lucky April, mine don't go back until the 12th . Sometimes I wonder what I pay school fees for.

I'm sure Lucy will settle back down into a good through the night routine shortly.

AprilMeadow · 03/01/2010 14:24

Ahhh the joys of private education TMAM

largeginandtonic · 04/01/2010 12:32

The 12th!!! Blardy hell.

I have the twims home today. Tis lovely We have been playing Mario on the wii.

I have complained to the BBC. I am just hoping lots of others do too. We might get an apology then

The Safari looks fab TMAM, the pics are fabulous J is HUGE!

New tumble dryer coming today, whoop!

Pink hope you have managed to get some sleep with MIL being there.

Tills you will be fine on your own. Sometimes it is easier without them. Just muddle throught and you will find your own routine amongst the chaos

Happy New Year to you all!!!

Ive got an eye infection and can only see out of one eye at the moment so please excuse any typos. Its been really horrible, I seem to have lost all concept of where things are. Lost count of the number of things I knocked over yesterday or almost walked into things. Who would have thought being one eye short could play havoc like that. Dh thinks its funny though and everytime i go out people look at me funny because it looks as if Ive either been hit or spent the past week vrying my eyes out. Ive got drops so hopefully it will all clear up soon.

Im sooo glad my house is back to normal well as normal as a 2bed flat with 6 people living in it can be lol. Considering the amount of toys all the kids got, ive managed to find a place for them all without too much hassle. Im currently watching A and E playing with her Animal Hospital toys, J joined in too yesterday. At last Ive found something they can all play together without arguing, even D joins in and pushes the cars/boats along.

I hit the sales yesterday and realised how things have changed. A couple of years ago I would have come back laden down with clothes and shoes, bragging about all the bargains I got. Yesterday I came home with an Ironing Board, kitchen scales and storage boxes and not one single item of clothing. Defianetly something wrong there

LG&T I dont blame you for complaining, if it wasnt for you I wouldnt have a clue what Turner's Syndrome is which Im sure is the case for many people. A program such as casualty should know better, it could have done a lot more to explain what Turners is and try to put it in a more 'normal' situation. I think they were too busy with the dragged out wedding and tragedy of baby Harry's death that they didnt give a lot of thought to the rest of the storylines.

largeginandtonic · 06/01/2010 06:05

Poor you Pebble, hope your eye is better by now.

We have snow! Quite a bit. 2 schools closed so far, just waiting to hear for the last one. They will be excited when they wake up

Tis cold, brrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

How are the rest of you?

Tillyscoutsmum · 06/01/2010 06:12

Tired.... hourly feeding all through the night again

We have snow too It looks beautiful

largeginandtonic · 06/01/2010 06:52

Oh Tills

It wont last forever. He is a big baby and just needs to feed to maintain it. No comfort to you though.

OP posts:
Themasterandmargaritas · 06/01/2010 10:02

Sending a HUGE sympathy hug and a large slice of cake to you Tills. It's our big boys. The upside is, is that when he is about 10 months old you will have biceps to die for.

Ok, so I am just a teensy bit envious of all the snow. We have El Niño rains, terrible flooding where there has been a terrible drought for the last year. Mother Nature is so cruel.

I have been painting. No one paints here themselves, they always pay someone to do it. The painters who were doing the other rooms thought it hilarious.

charleymouse · 06/01/2010 11:06

Happy 2010 everyone. Hope it is a good year for us all. WHo will be having a baby this year come on, get cracking. Don't think it will be me. Maybe Scoot or SOH LG&T

Ooh Tills big hugs, tis a phase tis a phase. It is becoming my mantra.

H is a dream, feeds really well but cluster feeds big style at night.

Will catch up with rest of thread but hope everyone well and enjoying the snow (rain).

Having a little moment today as this is when MC last year but then I wouldn't have H would I so putting positive slant on things for me.

LG&T bang out of order well done on sending complaint.

Pebblemum · 06/01/2010 13:05

We too have lots of snow!!! We were all out in it when it first started last night and then when it was really thick, about 9.30 last night, I went out on my own just to leave footprints in the fresh snow Felt like a big kid lol. Then my neighbour thought it would be funny to try to push me over but missed and fell face first himself, that'll teach him. Today we have all been building snowmen. We now have a little family of them mum, dad, baby and half a nan(to be finished once Alana is brave enough to go back out there)I even helped my neighbour's son build one because his mum wouldnt help him

E is off school until Monday due to a burst pipe but J might have to go back Friday. Dh just about made it home from work last night and has just spent the whole morning trying to convince his boss how bad it is round here, he lives in East Sussex and doesnt seem to have it quite as bad as us. He got there in the end though so at least I wont spend the evening worrying about him.

Charley, i wont be pg this year or any other so you can count me out lol.

I really cant believe how organised I have been since Nov. Christmas was all sorted with weeks to spare, Alana's birthday presents are bought ready for May, Ethan has two rather big presents ready for his in Sept and now Deacons presents are all bought ready for the 26th, just got to get his 1st pair of shoes from Clarkes. Ive never been like this before but have to say its a great feeling

Pebble to your organisational skills.

We have still have snow. The children have been back to school for 2 days, the twins for just 1!

Will they ever go back? I think it is supposed to snow again on Sunday/Monday. I have visions of them all being home next week too.

It's lovely but y'know...

Beau is being extra special atm. I think maybe it is because he is sleeping all night so feels he needs more attention in the day

He whinges and moans, demands and then throws a massive fit if it is not what he wants. I thought we had done these mega tantrums 9 months ago. I am NOT doing it again.

He lives on the stair with a sore bottom. Being trapped on with him just adds to the fun.

Dh duty till Sunday. Arghhhhh.

OP posts:
Pebblemum · 08/01/2010 22:57

Aaaarggghhh!!! This snow is really getting to me now. E's school may remain closed for most of next week and so far I know that J's is closed until Tuesday, have to check its website Monday to find out more. We had to venture out in the car today to get shopping, our cupboards were looking very bare. It was a nightmare, everyone was driving at a snails pace so a 10min journey took almost half hour, Ive never seen the shop as busy as it was today and lost count of the times I was ran over by trolleys I mean its not as if im too small to see!! I decided to stock up on enough food to last at least 10days (although when people see we have full cupboards they seem to think its their mission to empty them as fast as they can) I really dont want to have to go through that again anytime soon. The only good thing is my kids behaved so well that we were complemented on it by several people. Normally our shopping trips are made up of squeals of ooh can we have that, mum i need a wee, or can we have sweets, today however E and A were only too happy to help me and D just kept banging head against the trolley and laughing (strange boy that one lol) I felt really proud of them

I have gone from having a bad eye to a swollen jaw. Dont know what it is but all day yesterday my jaw hurt and I even had trouble talking, much to the kids amusement. Today it has a swollen lump on it and I cant open my mouth too wide, it feels very tight. Its as if someone has punched me but they havent of course. I think Im falling apart I think i took too many painkillers yesterday, was very dozy last night so havent had any today instead im sat here with a vodka, trying alternative methods and i must say this is making it feel a lot better

largeginandtonic · 09/01/2010 09:53

Where the hell are you all. Making snowmen?

I am utterly fed up. The snow has not thawed. The schools are still closed. My Dragons need crickets and i can't get to the pet shop. I am trapped with 7 of them. It is going to snow again on Sunday early hours (did you know that Pebble?)

The twins school has already texted to say they are shut on Monday!

Beau woke last night at 220. There was screaming and crying and that was just me. Belle had to come in my bed. In the end i tied his door shut with cable

If he does it again tonight i am off...

Dh is (of course) at work. Not back till Sunday morning.

I am not sure i have enough gin rations to make it tbh.

OP posts:
Moijaimelacountry · 09/01/2010 11:44

Ahhh gin, I feel for you, am fed up too. Was supposed to be dancing this afternoon, Sylvie was teaching a workshop about 50km from here and I was going too. It's been cancelled (by the organisers, not Sylvie) due to the dangerous roads and now I've had enough and am totaly pissed. We haven't even got enough snow here for the kids to go out and make snowmen it's just thick ice everywhere and feezing
Was fun for a day or so but now it's boring.

Luckily for us our school has been open all week.

Gin at least it was just his door, we did it with h's door at about B's age. I have a friend who uses a wrist strap tied to her 3 yr olds bed to keep him in it to go to sleep. He's in a room with his two older brothers and no door, she takes it off when he's asleep but it's a step too far for me and thats coming from someone who sticks hers in a cupboard for a day or two to get away.

Bored, Bored, Grumpy, I may send dh and the kids into the other room, move the sofas and dance anyway!

largeginandtonic · 09/01/2010 12:03

They strap him to the bed

I am following instructions from the Toddler Taming book by Dr Christopher Green. You loop the rope round his door handle and round a door nearby. He has a gap big enough to look out but not get out.

I am grumpy and tired. Harumph.

The schools wont be open next week, i just know it. The children are thrilled!

Biffa lady are you dancing round the house instead? Do M and J copy you?

OP posts:
AprilMeadow · 09/01/2010 12:05

School is more than likely to be shut on Monday Nursery has been open all week thankfully so at least i havent had all 3 here all the time.

Loads of piggin snow here and they are forecasting about 8inches again tonight - not good.

We've had one of the guys who works for us staying since Tuesday and he will be here until its safe for him to travel to & from work. He has popped back home today to get his cat to the cattery and popped back the other day to feed her. Luckily we have been able to get to the supermarket and make sure we have enough food for us all. He is a really nice guy and isnt shy to make a cuppa or muck in with the kids which is great . Also had a friend who works at the nursery stay here as well and she may well be back tomorrow night if the snow does come. Good job we have a big enough house.....

Am pretty sure that i have mastitis Left boob is really tender and i wince when its touched, can still feed from it which is good. Had flu type symptoms last night - chilled to the bone, then hot, tired etc etc even though the house was nice and warm. Have taken some paracetamol but not sure what else to do as havent really had it before...

Jumped on the scales with Lucy last night and i think she is now about 15lbs - she is so chubby and smiley, i cant believe that she is 16wks already!!

OOOOOh and the best news is that i am getting 3 house guests in June!! MrPJ is going to the world cup and at about the same time MrAM is heading to the states storm chasing again.. Will have to try and sort another meet up or something...

LG&T I hope you survive until dh is home!

Pebble, sounds like an abscess maybe....

MrsJB, bummer about the dancing.. but quite that the school has been open.. Ooh how is J getting on?

largeginandtonic · 09/01/2010 12:21

AM alternate hot and cold compress and take paracetemol. If it does not improve within 24hrs the off to the doc you go. You may need antibiotics.

Meet up hooray!!! All the new babies

Pebble i agree with AM it might be an abcess Horrid for you.

Jacket potatoes for lunch. What are you lot having?

Moijaimelacountry · 09/01/2010 12:22

I am dancing around the lounge yes feeling better already, M not interested J copies (very cute) and H joins in with the dances he knows. He' got about 12 under his belt now. I had a quick count the other evening and from memory I can dance about 200 dances now.

J getting on great at school, she had a little wobble yesterday morning but was ok when I collected her.

look after that boob AM, Your house guests for June sound delightful.

Alix has a little work for the next couple of weeks...

Moijaimelacountry · 09/01/2010 12:23

lunch, I've only just had breakfast!

Moijaimelacountry · 09/01/2010 12:29

Razor Sharp now

largeginandtonic · 09/01/2010 12:29

Breakfast!! That was hours ago. Well it was in this house.

The little buggers delights are asking for food on average every hour and a half. It is ridiculous.

I can't keep up. If i starve them will they all become lethargic and quiet?

OP posts:
largeginandtonic · 09/01/2010 12:32

Are you on there?

OP posts:
AprilMeadow · 09/01/2010 12:34

Had a lovely bowl of porridge for brekkie and dh has been clearing the drive so we can get out!!! We will be going into town for lunch - will be able to stock up on drugs whilst there

Moijaimelacountry · 09/01/2010 12:58

LOL at trying to starve them to make them quiet.
