Mwhahahahaaaa!

StarExpat · 20/11/2009 17:08

You don't have to try so hard to kill me 50ft I'm already dying

I'm thinking of switching GP's, too. The one down the street - they saw me and helped me straight away! So much better than our usual GP. How long does this process take? To switch? Is there a lot of paperwork involved?

It does indeed have poppers on it Myjob. To be honest I haven't used the BB for such a long time that I can't remember. I have just located the insert and folded it and it looks like the mf bit naturally goes on the top so I suspect I would have used it that way but you never know. I would certainly have put it in that way now, but then I know what I am doing these days!

Star - You're really making me laugh with your illness. Again, that's because you sound so like me. I am always dying when I'm ill. I'm such a man. Changing GP sounds like a very good idea. I have never changed GP but I need to. From what I understand they will need to know lots of health details & will probably give you a full medical. Not sure how long it takes. You'd have to check that they are accepting new patients.

I used to love carrying Q in a sling. I had the black fleece peanut shell sling and it was so warm and snuggly. Now I just can't do it. He's so heavy! Sometimes I put him in the hip position, but I much prefer the pushchair.

I want to let Q cry a bit when he wakes tonight so he'll stay in his cot, just shhh-ing andletting him know I'm there but he needs to stay in his cot. DH thinks he's too ill to let him cry at all. It's not like I'd let him scream for a long time. It would only take 10 minutes max... probably less! Conveniently, dh has all of these opinions, yet doesn't have to deal with him in the night

StarExpat · 20/11/2009 20:38

I made a cough syrup with honey lemon and hot water. It works SOOOO well. I gave it to Q. He coughed quite a bit at first then we heard no coughing from him since! I highly recommend it

aubergenie · 20/11/2009 20:59

Oooh, That makes me feel really nostalgic, Pistachio. I used to love carrying S in his Close baby carrier when he was tiny.

Star - I hope you manage to get a decent night's sleep tonight. Can't your dh do the night shift for you so you can rest?

CSWS - How are things in your house now. On the mend I hope?

So, I had my session with the John Lewis fashion advisor today. It was brilliant! I'd totally recommend it as a bit of a treat. You sit in a private room, while someone runs around and fetches loads of stuff for you to try on. I was really embarrased going in in my knackered old jeans and threadbare coat (I really needed a wardrobe overhaul) but came out with some really nice stuff that I would never have picked out for myself. And absolutely no hard sell or minimum spend!

CantSleepWontSleep · 20/11/2009 21:11

Well there's been no throwing up since 3am, so that's def good. Dd's tummy got the better of her mid-morning so she had a bit of an accident, but no problems since then. Neither of them have eaten much today, but it's hard to know with D whether that's down to feeling sick or his teeth - his 2 emerging molars are clearly giving him grief. I'm not sure that he's had a wet nappy all day, but has breastfed and drunk water, and we've left a cup of water in his bed, so hopefully he'll be ok. Don't think I'll disturb him to feed in the night, as it was 40 mins after that last night that he threw up! Though will feed if he asks of course. He's eaten half a slice of toast and jam, a humzinger, a small rice cake and 2/3 of a banana today.

You must be tired with two sickly ones to look after, CSWS. Hope tonight's a calm one for you all.

BertieBotts · 20/11/2009 21:53

I just had to pop in and say congrats CSWS - I saw your news on another thread!! I promise I will come back with a proper update soon. Hope everyone is well.

CantSleepWontSleep · 20/11/2009 21:57

Nice to see you Bertie.

Off to bed now I think. Knackered.

Argh! I can't believe M has made me get up at this time!

StarExpat · 21/11/2009 07:22

aubergenie, I know it's rude to ask but how much did it cost? I am very interested if I can save for a treat. sounds lovely

Hi Bertie!

Good for no more sick csws I hope all continues to get better.

I made honey lemon and hot water cough syrup for Q last night (on tesco chemist's recommendation) Just used regular honey, a quarter of a lemon, sqeezed and some hot water. He had a huge coughing fit following it. Followed by a few more coughs... after 5 min... NO MORE COUGHING.
He slept from 7pm (late for him) - 4am without waking and nO coughing!
He got in bed with me at 4 and snuggled in and went back to sleep until 5.30! Then coughed at 6am. Kept coughing, so I took him out as he was ready to be up since 5.30 really anyway...I gave him more of my honey concoction and he coughed a few times afterward... now... an hour and 20 min on and NO COUGHING. If your LO has a cough, you must try this! It is absolutely amazing. I wish I had known about it a week ago...
He's on the mend and so am I. lucky I had paracetomol and antibiotics to kill infection straight away Lucky I was naughty and didn't finish my course from mastitis once I was better!

StarExpat · 21/11/2009 07:24

We're usually up at around 5, so it seems normal to me! But I understand that it is early. Sorry M didn't want to sleep more. Is she still not napping during the day?

aubergenie · 21/11/2009 07:41

That was unreasonable of M, 50ft. I was moaning about quarter to seven.

Star - How was your night?

Hope it's all quiet on the CSWS front.

Thank you for asking about my clothes Pistachio. I was so excited about it and got really annoyed with dp when he wasn't showing enough interest in my shopping trip!

I got a knitted dress, a tunic-type dress and long sleeve top to go underneath, a long cardigan, a pair of very flattering jeans (normally I hate shopping for jeans and find it really depressing), a top to wear with the jeans, and a smart cardigan. I would have happily bought more but we ran out of time. She introduced me to brands that I would never have looked at and was very honest about what did and didn't suit me. It was definitely a treat but I'd been collecting John Lewis vouchers for a while so that really helped with the cost.

On a slightly less frivolous note, I haven't had time to read the whole thing yet, but I saw that you got a reply from Gabrielle Palmer Pistachio. Very exciting!!
