Thanks 50ft. I remember not that long ago when we were talking about washables and you were saying it was all Greek to you! Your potential list of career choices is getting longer and longer: personal shopper, midwife, nutritionist, teacher, nappy saleswoman.

aubergenie · 19/11/2009 21:50

Oh yes. S put his clothes, his towel and both of my trainers in the bath while my back was turned for a second this evening. He moves at lightning speed now. They're all on the radiator now.

Now that is Greek to me Myjob. Can you translate?

50ftQueenie · 19/11/2009 22:21

Ignore her Aubergenie, she's showing off.

50ftQueenie · 19/11/2009 22:26

M put loads of her toys in my shoes today. I discovered them when I put my foot in one. But she was very helpful this evening. DS made huge amounts of mess and M started putting his toys away in a box. Bless her.

She has come on in leaps an bounds over the last few days. It's unbelievable. She has started pushing the button when we cross the road and says something that approximates "button" if we pass one. She also points to dogs, says "dog, woof woof" and tonight she said "Tomliboo". I suppose that might explain why the nights have been a bit rubbish......

StarExpat · 20/11/2009 07:31

Poor D. He's such a gentle little guy. How heartbreaking to hear about him being so sick.

We haven't done injections since a long time ago because he had that cough for so long and now this

So dd is trilingual then Pistachio? I'd forgotten how much fun this stage is. I was so busy feeling sad about M not being a baby anymore I forgot just how amazing they continue to be (until they hit the age of 6 when they think they know everything & they become real smart arses). I sometimes find the feeling sick but not actually being sick worse. At least when you are sick you get some temporary relief from the discomfort. How is dd at nursery these days?

CSWS - At least dd is old enough to be sick into a bowl (or is that wishful thinking?). Is DH away or home today?

We had success with the Pop-in! There was plenty of room for more wee if she had needed it and she slept well for a change. I wonder if the bulk of the nappy kept her a bit warmer.

50ftQueenie · 20/11/2009 08:55

Oh and Myjob - I need your help to sell my Blueberry. I didn't pay attention to what stuffing I had for it when I bought it so have no idea when I list it! Seeing as you are the all knowing nappy lady I thought you'd be able to give me a hand.

StarExpat · 20/11/2009 09:00

I feel like I am going to die. for real. I am home today. Q is a bit more back to his normal self and will walk around and play on his own a few minutes then come lay down on me.... usually he'll walk around and play on his own for ages. of course we play with him but he's not usually needy iyswim. DH carried him around all day yesterday as he wouldn't be put down.
I am actually having problems lifting him today, Im that achy and weak and ill. yuck.

I'm taking antibiotics that i have leftover from round 4 of mastitis. I think it's helping somewhat.

don't know what happened with my posts lsat night sorry.

we're out of bread and milk and both are staples for Q so will have to get to a shop... ugh, not sure I can make it!

stupid dh wouldn't let me let Q cry in his cot last night either so I had him in bed with me kicking and grabbing and wanting to lay right ON me but I'm so sore and ill ad he's so heavy...
sorry I'm just whinging.

50ftQueenie · 20/11/2009 09:05

Sorry Star but I have to . Not at your pain but because you sound just like me when I'm ill. It is rubbish that you have to deal with a nearly better Q when you're feeling so ill. I used to make DH have the day off when I was home with ds & I was ill. If it's any consolation, when M is in bed with us (I bring her in first thing in the morning so we can sleep a bit longer) she pinches me, scratches me, kicks me and tries to climb on me. It's lovely

StarExpat · 20/11/2009 09:40

I usually don't mind when he does this but when my whole body was aching and sore, I couldn't bear it.
I've just had an injection at dr across street b/c my lips were swelling and getting hives as I took a cold med that I'm allergic to. I just assumed we wouldn't have anything with ibuprofen or asprin in it in the house!
DH can' take any more days off right now Not that he'd be any help anyway

Sorry about all the sick children csws. Sounds horrible!

pistachio that is so cute about your DD explaining bilingualism.

Hey! What happened to my post?

Grr.....

Oh well, Myjob - It is a onesize and I think it is the hemp/micro-fibre insert. I just don't get on with pocket nappies for some reason. I am considering shaped with wool longies or fleece wrap but they are bloody expensive to start with! I want organic bamboo as I find that the most effective, the synthetic stuff is pretty rubbish IME. M is nowhere NEAR using a spoon on her own. She thinks that if you dip the handle into the food that it will magically appear in the bowl end. Genius!

Star - Oh how terrible! Just what you need on top of feeling rubbish, a nice allergic reaction. Hope you're feeling a bit better soon.

This is day three on no daytime bfing and so far so good. In addition tonight will be night three of DH putting M to bed awake. He also managed to get her to go back to sleep when she woke up at 10pm. I had another driving lesson today and I did 2nd gear and drove round the block! I felt like a needed a brandy afterwards though!

50ftQueenie · 20/11/2009 13:06

That should have read:

Oh well!

Myjob -

Not
Oh well Myjob. Which makes it sound like the oh well is directed at you Myjob, when it wasn't. I'll get my coat......

StarExpat · 20/11/2009 15:31

I am going to dieeeeeeee

If you don't hear from me call for a search party because I doubt DH will care that I'm not waking up!

Well, I do feel slightly better after taking a paracetomol based flu tablet and now have had 2 doses of antibiotic. last night and this morning. is it 2x/day you take it or 3x? it's flucoxocillin (sp?!?)

Q is walking around more and not demanding to be picked up so much. We had a 2 hour nap together this morning And he's back down for a nap now he had dropped that afternoon nap, but maybe he just needs it since he's sick? I might go lay down with him in a few min when he's deeply asleep, too.

I am SO glad that I only have ONE child. I do not know how you're coping csws... with both sick. It sounds nearly impossible to me. Sending you all possible vibes available for patience, antibodies and SLEEP.

I've been browsing lots of threads... I noticed that MN is so cool. Even if just for adult conversation. I can watch a debate, hear other people's conversations, get advice, listen to gossip, contribute as I please...etc all without having to leave my home Brilliant.

oh well 50ft potty training!

CantSleepWontSleep · 20/11/2009 15:46

Please don't die star - we would miss you.

OP posts:
CantSleepWontSleep · 20/11/2009 15:47

Oh, and I wouldn't take the antibiotics at all btw, since they were prescribed for something entirely different.

OP posts:
StarExpat · 20/11/2009 15:56

I'm just thinking they're antibiotics, antibiotics kill bacteria. Something is better than nothing or as HMM would say
owt is better than nowt.
