9pm
I think it's a late night for Q when he's up until 7.30!

true, pistachio. Myjob - don't underestimate the amount of work kids are when they are school age. I watch my friend with 3 DC only 2 of which have homework right now and her evenings are crazy and she's totally drained by bedtime. And they go to my school... where homework is nowhere near the obscene amount that it seems to be in british schools. You'll be able to do it, no problem!! Just don't bank on everything getting easier with more time once they are in school iyswim.

Q did that for a few days. I let him just scream for about 10 minutes and then he went to sleep. I sound like the most cold hearted person on here. I used to be so against this sort of thing... now I know he just needs his sleep and sometimes he needs to scream and shout to get there
Will she not calm after a bit of crying?

Thats exactly what W was doing. He has given in now and has realised when mummy says its sleepy time she means it.
Having said that he is refusing to accept that 6am is not the proper time to get up. He laughs in my face! I can now hear him chucking everything out of his bed in protest at me not getting him out quick enough.

CSWS. Poorly D, quaratine him so P or you dont catch the bugs.

Pistachio, I surely dont know what you mean

Sorry to hear that myjob. Is there a park nearby that you can get out to with N? I always notice Q is in a much better mood when we go somewhere not sure if that will work for N...
Could she be unwell or getting a bug? Or cold? When Q isn't really warm in his cot/room he wakes much much much sooner than he would if he was warm.

50ftQueenie · 19/11/2009 17:42

Just popping in, back later. I wanted to let you know how my appointment went.

The tests have all come back negative: CT scan was encouraging, the fluid from around the cyst was tested and was all clear & the tumour marker blood test I had was normal too. The consultant said that considering all this, removing everything would be over-kill and it will be easier to just monitor me every 6 months, unless I am concerned before hand. He said that when I am a bit older and the risk of cancer increases as it would for anyone, I might choose to go for the op anyway.

So, fabulous news! I am being referred for physio but will need to wait for an appointment.

YAY!!!!

CantSleepWontSleep · 19/11/2009 18:07

50ft. Am very pleased for you.

So when you having another baby then?

Hooray 50ft! That's great news!! So happy for you! What a releif.

myjob - glad you had a good day in the end

csws you just want company with your age gap

I'm home with Q again tomorrow as both my childcare options have sick kids at home! Q isn't entirely well now anyway. I'm getting annoyed with this now.

Bugger - I thought that D was a little better, but he just threw up again at bedtime - yuk. Luckily I managed to direct him away from the bed! He's now asleep, but imagine that he'll need a top up in the night. All the solid food he has eaten today is one bite of plain pancake, a fig roll biscuit, a few bits of plain fusilli and a humzinger. And he had milk first thing, mid morning, mid afternoon and at bedtime (though not as much as usual as was sick half way through).

Sorry to hear that Q's not right still either star.

Poor D. He's such a gentle little guy. How heartbreaking to hear about him being so sick.

We haven't done injections since a long time ago because he had that cough for so long and now this

aubergenie · 19/11/2009 19:58

Bloody brilliant news 50ft.

Sorry to hear about the sick babies.

I took S to the British Museum today to meet my mum then we went for lunch. It was great. S really enjoyed walking through the galleries. He kept going up to random schoolchildren and hugging them.

I'm having a great evening. S fast asleep, dp is out and it's so peaceful. I do love dp but I love it when he goes out and I get some time to myself. Also it means I can have a glass of wine and watch The Restaurant without having to endure his "witticisms" and Raymond Blanc impressions.

So, are any of you going to give your dcs the swine flu vaccine? I need to read up about it before I decide. Ronshar! What do you think about it?

Oh, and CSWS what are these Humzingers of which you speak?

CantSleepWontSleep · 19/11/2009 20:05

I don't think my dc will be offered vaccine (it's only those with underlying probs isn't it?), but I plan to have it sometime after 12 weeks. My surgery isn't getting it in til 1st Dec, so will just be a couple of weeks or so behind that.

Humzingers are dried fruit bars that look like they should be full of crap, but in fact aren't! Come in boxes of 10 from most supermarkets.

Ah ok, just seen on news that they are offering to all under 5s. Hmm, not sure.

Thank you ladies, you've made me . I don't think it's properly sunk in yet as we were worried for months!

CSWS - Stop it you naughty lady. I have time to think about things now as I don't have a time bomb in my belly to worry about. Sorry to hear about poor D. Just as bad for you though as you have to deal with he vom! Hope he feels better in the morning. I too am undecided about the vaccine. My dad had it the other day and has felt really ill ever since. I am much less likely to give ds the jab as he has an amazing immune system and anyway, he recovers very quickly from illness.

Aubergenie - M is addicted to Humzingers. She would eat them all day if we let her, but as it's dried fruit & she had the horrible bottom not that long ago, we limit her to one a day, mid-morning. They are very yummy!

Star - Poor Q! Hope the poor little fella feels better soon.

Myjob - Good luck with N's jabs tomorrow! I really should sort M's out. Oops! Glad your day ended well. M is testing the Pop-in tonight. She looked like J-Lo! The Bambooty is dry, I am unreasonably excited to try it out.

aubergenie · 19/11/2009 21:11

We've got a fair bit of swine flu in our area (although whether it actually is swine flu is anyone's guess, as I don't think actually test any more, do they.) I'm hoping that if we do get it in this house breastfeeding will help to protect against the worst. Is that likely/possible?

50ft - One of my work colleagues had the regular flu vaccine a few days ago and felt really ill afterwards. They told her that it shouldn't make you ill, but she's not convinced. Of course everyone's coughing and sneezing at school at this time of year so it's impossible to know.

aubergenie · 19/11/2009 21:13

50ft - have you just started using washables overnight? I was thinking of trying them out with S now that he's not feeding at night. Would I need an additional booster as well as the regular itti bitti liner?

50ftQueenie · 19/11/2009 21:21

You can get the mini booster to put in if you're going to use Itti's over night. I have bought a Pop-in to try overnight as it was recommended to me. It is massive so I might be brave and try an Itti overnight (like Myjob told me to do ages ago). M still feeds at night, but her nappies were feeling fairly dry so she would probably survive the night in an Itti.
