Ouch star thats hugely expensive! The nursery place dd is taking up is £1,232 per term (we have 3 terms) so is nearly £4k per annum (again half days) but even for age 11 - 16 it is 'only' £10k a year. Mind you, we don't live in London any more. I dread to think how expensive independent schools are there....

star6 · 29/10/2009 19:37

Ekka how old was your DD when M was born?

aubergenie · 29/10/2009 19:49

Star - have responded to you on fb.

star6 · 29/10/2009 20:21

Can anyone come for a quick few hours this Sunday in Greenwich? Is there a cafe where we can eat and a place for LO's to play?

star6 · 29/10/2009 20:23

And let's sort this christmas "do" .
I have a work christmas party but Im trying to tell all of those Americans that it's a do not a party!

Thank you to those who replied on fb. I'm really struggling with this and hearing unbiased opinions really helps!! I love MN. Someone make me a badge. I'll put it next to my I heart csws one

CantSleepWontSleep · 29/10/2009 20:30

Hmmm, I think we are free this Sunday actually, but would have to talk to dh first. Is it Aubergenie who knows the area best?

RachieW · 29/10/2009 20:36

I'm not sure if I can make Greenwich this Sunday as we have J's party on Sat and loads of family over and I'm not sure who is staying until when. I would really love to try though, unless we could do another weekend? Both the Maritime Musuem and the Observatory are in the park and have cafes. The actual park has a good tearoom but it can get crowded and there is a children's play park at the very bottom near the Maritime musuem.

aubergenie · 29/10/2009 20:42

We're away this weekend as it's my mum's 70th birthday. School also shut on Monday so we've got an extra day's holiday.

Ekka · 29/10/2009 20:46

She was just over 16 months star. Why?

Don't think we'll be venturing anywhere at the moment, given dd's obsession with 'big girl pants'. She did well this morning, but this afternoon was not very successful. Including her classic line 'My bottom is leaking' as she sat playing with her toys

I would be up for a Xmas meet up, but definitely can't do the Sundays 6th or 13th December....

star6 · 29/10/2009 20:47

ok how about next sunday?

RachieW · 29/10/2009 20:48

Star have posted on fb too.

CantSleepWontSleep · 29/10/2009 20:51

Again I might be able to do next Sunday - am just waiting to hear back from friend who had baby in summer about when she is free to meet up (the one who lives down your way star).
I really need to know that either MM or ronshar are coming with their older dc too though, so that I don't have to worry about dd being a bored monster!

Ekka - I was just looking at your pic of them after the christmas party on that bean bag and she looks so young - sort of like Q now, but I guess she was a bit older (but maybe his size!!) She is lovely

star6 · 29/10/2009 20:55

so how about christmas do november 28 or 29? last weekend in nov?

CantSleepWontSleep · 29/10/2009 20:59

How about having the Christmas do at a zoo or safari park or similar, so that there's entertainment for the kids? We can either take a big picnic (and hope for good weather), or make do with cafe food and choose somewhere that has soft play attached to a cafe (eg Woburn safari park).

star6 · 29/10/2009 21:01

We could do that. I did like it when we were at your house, csws and we could all chat and sit around comfortably and not worry too much about DCs running off...etc.... But if it was a nice enclosed area that isn't too noisy....

CantSleepWontSleep · 29/10/2009 21:23

Oh just realised that next sunday is 8th - not sure that we could do that actually, as have friends staying over after fireworks on Sat night.

Honeymoonmummy · 29/10/2009 21:33

Seems like a few people can't make the 6th Dec so don't worry about it. I'm sure I can get a deal on a hotel to make up for the higher train fare.

ronshar · 29/10/2009 21:54

I cant make next Sunday.
Busy will check other dates later.
