Dammit just lost a long post and now I must nursery run

bebemoo · 11/11/2009 15:25

I hate when that happens. Tho I don't currently do nursery runs...

Why am I finding this all so difficult?

WhatFreshHellIsThis · 11/11/2009 15:58

All what bebemoo? Parenting in general, or something specific?

bebemoo · 11/11/2009 16:05

Being a mom. Dealing with a child.

Feierabend · 11/11/2009 16:17

Oh Bebe, I have (many) moments like that too. I keep thinking, this is going to go on for years and years, and I'll never stop being a mum now. I'll always have worries about my dds, I'll never again be able to put myself first. And I won't have a proper lie-in for a long, long time...

Feierabend · 11/11/2009 16:19

Their toys will clutter up my place... then they'll want their own showers gels and creams and make-up in my bathroom... there'll be little shoes everywhere... the wash basket will constantly overflow... they'll be noisy when I need quiet... they'll break my things... ach, I could go on and on.

Feierabend · 11/11/2009 16:20

And why does my office keep asking me to help out with things? I thought I had told them to eff off.

Feierabend · 11/11/2009 16:22

They'll be sick in my car... they'll eat my chocolates... they'll nose around in my personal things... they'll fight with each other... they'll cost me hundreds and thousands of pounds... they'll wake me up at night... they'll need to be taken to the doctors all the bloomin' time with one thing or the other... they'll make us need to move to a bigger house... sorry but this is somehow therapeutic

Feierabend · 11/11/2009 16:23

They'll bring nasty smelly pimply teenage boys home... Aaaaaargh.

Feierabend · 11/11/2009 16:23

And then they'll snog them, possibly even on my bed! MY bed!

Feierabend · 11/11/2009 16:25

They'll wee on my sofa.

Feierabend · 11/11/2009 16:26

I do quite like them though... a bit anyway

FrogmellaMoonbeam · 11/11/2009 16:32

Just wanted to say hello and let you know I havent fallen off the face of the earth it was very nice to be missed and Im sorry I havent posted sooner. I have kept reading through to catch up and by the time I have managed that children have called and I havent been able to post but I am here now! We seem to be pootling along nicely although I must admit I am really struggling to be the mother of 2 and dont know how all you others manage it.

Apart from all the obvious stuff I hope everyone is ok and I will try to pop by more often xXx

BoffMonster · 11/11/2009 17:16

I think having 2 is harder than having more than 2. I have to say I am used to most of it now and it doesn't stress me out as much as it used to.

Perhaps we shoudl all have 10 kids and then sit back and let them slug it out while we eat all the chocolate?

bebemoo · 11/11/2009 18:00

Just need to survive 28 more hours
28 hours
28hours

FrogmellaMoonbeam · 11/11/2009 18:43

That sounds a good idea Boff!!

Although Im not sure about the having 8 more kids.

Then again I do enjoy being pregnant and giving birth its just coping with looking after them afterwards I have a problem with!

bebemoo · 11/11/2009 18:58

27

WhatFreshHellIsThis · 11/11/2009 19:08

bebe just wanted to say that you're doing it on your own a lot of the time, which is very tough, you should be proud of how well you're coping with DH away! Also that if you think about the big picture, as in being a mum for ever and ever, it does all get really overwhelming sometimes. Take it one moment at a time, like an alcoholic

Plus your mood can make it seem like a really uphill struggle - and this virus is a killer for making you feel tired and down. Just think to yourself 'This isn't how I really feel, it's the virus making me tired and blue, I'll be ok when it goes away' and it somehow seems more manageable, IME.

Also a lot of the baby stuff is quite dull, and boredom is a killer for making me depressed, don't know about you. They get more interesting (if also more frustrating...!)

Boff, not sure I can do 10! I'm even reconsidering earlier plans for 3.....

Feier, stop, stop, stop! you're scaring me!

Hello Frogmella - nice to hear from you!

bebemoo · 11/11/2009 19:24

I guess part of the problem is that I don't feel like I'm coping. I feel a bit out of control. Lost. Uncertain. I feel like someone is`standing on my chest. Full of tension.
I think I really need sleep. I don't do well without sleep.
Going to take Meg to gp tomorrow to verify the cough is not a big problem. That will ease one problem. And getting Dh will solve some more (hopefully). Please.

bebemoo · 11/11/2009 19:25

Thanks WFH

WhatFreshHellIsThis · 11/11/2009 19:55

Lack of sleep is an absolute killer - it can make you completely insane! Really hope you get a better night tonight

This evening's score: One small meltdown and one big one. Both boys now bathed and fast asleep thank god.

Bottom shelf in the door of my fridge collapsed this evening, very nearly getting DS1's head in the process, and smashing two bottles of milk. It was very nearly the straw that broke this camel's back!
