Hello all

I think I have updated my profile with a couple of pics. Have totally confused myself by namechanging as well, which is taxing to my tiny mind.

WrigglyFish · 02/11/2009 15:28

Mrs G that cake looks truly marvellous.

surprisenumber3 · 02/11/2009 15:47

lol MrsG, I make car snowmen too

bebemoo · 02/11/2009 16:00

How come everyone makes lovely cakes like that but me?

Feierabend · 02/11/2009 16:03

Oooh beautiful train cake! Well impressed.

What is it about fireplaces that attracts babies so much?

A friend came round for lunch yesterday (DH cooked most of it) and brought the most amazing chocolate cake I have ever eaten. Apparently it's an Ottolenghi recipe and she'll send it to me. Yum.

Boss called this morning to ask me to help out with a proposal. So I did some work for free this afternoon

WrigglyFish · 02/11/2009 16:04

Bebe I haven't baked a cake in ages. And whenever I last did it was only a round fruit sponge.

DH's birthday in a few weeks. Maybe I ought to have a think....

Feierabend · 02/11/2009 16:05

Surprise, sorry to hear things are difficult for you at the moment. I have no solutions but it does sound like a comfort thing rather than hunger? Don't know really. Sending you lots of hugs.

WrigglyFish · 02/11/2009 16:38

Fei - babies + soot / coal dust/ ashes = 'mucky AND naughty'. What more could a baby want?

GUYmauve · 02/11/2009 18:31

Could I suggest an amendment to Secret Santa rules? Suggest packages not be marked with MN names, just in case people would prefer DPs not to know their MN nicks. I suspect most DPs already know them, but just in case....they could be addressed to 'the MNer of the house' instead, as they do with the big MN secret santa.

kazkissofdeath · 02/11/2009 18:51

Hiya check your spam folders for your secret santa email as thats where mine ended up!

Hiya everyone hope you all had a good weekend.

It was my first day back at work today and i wasnt toooo bad going in. But work was horrendously busy and by 10.30am I didnt feel like i had ever been away (note to ju... dont rush back nothing ever changes...)

I was fine till i got home. I walked in the door and as soon as ollie realised i was there he went all happily hyper and said 'mumumumumaaaa' over and over again. Izzie was her usual independant self and just gave me a happy grin. I managed to hold it together till my mum and dad left then I started sobbing and couldnt stop!!! i felt SSOOOOOO guilty for leaving them. I am sooo glad i am going back every other day as i couldnt bear to be away from them for two days in a row it was heartbreaking..

oooh i am such a wooossss. i am not usually soo sentimental...

BabyBolat · 02/11/2009 19:11

Ah Kaz, it's natural - I cried too! (sometimes I still do and it has been a fair few months!)

Surprise I don't have the issues you have but snap at needing to get your body back - I feel like a grubby old milking cow most days and am trying my hardest to get off bfing but K hates it (so do I to be honest) and now every time I hold him he nuzzles into me trying to feed because he knows he is going to be kept away and Oh my god it hurts - i am still feeing him during the night and first thing!

Why why are mondays always always always the worst days at work! WHY!!! I must have written my resignation every monday for the past few months! Fei - when (or are) you going back to work?

Feierabend · 02/11/2009 20:15

BB - not until mid March. I am in no hurry, I am so not ready to leave H and am very much enjoying my holiday! Also I thought I was only giving my opinion / adding a few thoughts to this pitch but am suddenly cc'd on all sorts of emails and I really don't want to know about it - same here as with Kaz, things don't ever change.

Feierabend · 02/11/2009 20:18

Bicnod, FB won't let me log on right now, will try to reply tomorrow. We should have swapped phone numbers!

Bicnod · 02/11/2009 21:10

Evening ladies

Fei - I was thinking exactly the same thing earlier today as FB was playing up and I had to resend my message to you three times. Grrrrr.

BB - 'I feel like a grubby old milking cow most days' - PMSL - I know exactly how you feel. Its so hard to wean the off though - in the process of it with O and its liberating but very very sad at the same time. Think it will become easier if he continues BITING though (ow ow oweeeeeeeeee).

Suprise - poor you. Sending huge hugs. Are things any better today? x x

WFH - so glad you're feeling better. Exciting about new houses - any progress?

Auld/Boff - love it

Trista - what a wanker. i can't believe he is trying to say he should have residential at 6 months - presumably he doesn't stand a chance considering his behaviour? what happens next? must be so stressful for you.

Nutty - thanks for sorting secret santa - I'm very excited

Back from O's christening which went well... he was an angel throughout the whole service. didn't cry at all - i was so proud. he grizzled for the rest of the day (especially when evil MIL tried to take him off me - his mouth went down, little lip pouted and he started screaming - excellent timing ) but think it was fair enough really as very overwhelming with all those people.

we've pushed his bedtime back by half an hour as he's started waking really early and not going back to sleep - fingers crossed for a good night tonight.

we were given a venture portrait voucher by a friend as a christening present but think we're going to not take it up after reading some of the scare stories on here... anyone got any experience of venture?

dawntigga · 02/11/2009 21:46

[smug emoticon] I made American styleee pancakes this morning and homemade strawberry sauce/coooliiiieeeee I am a domestic goddess. Let's not mention it took 4 hours to clean up after breakfast!

What's the difference between fruit sauce and coooooliiiiieeeeee on a menu? About 3 quid

Emu oil is good for most skin issues including eczema - can't remember who was talking about it and I've only just read the post.

GoingSenileTiggaxx

mrsgBANGing · 02/11/2009 22:04

i should point out i didn't bake the cake or anything - it's shop bought cake wodged together with betty crocker goo. i normally would make my own cake from really yummy ingredients but even lady annabel of karmel suggests shop bought kid birthday cake

Feierabend · 03/11/2009 09:39

Tigga, come right over here and make some pancakes for me too please, I was just wondering what to have for my second breakfast!

Shop bought birthday cake - was wondering if it would be acceptable, seeing as I am such a lousy baker (I still blame my oven though).

How is everyone this morning?

GUYmauve · 03/11/2009 09:43

I have had second breakfast. It was a 4-finger KitKat

Feierabend · 03/11/2009 09:44

Oh no Gui, that only counts as a snack. You can still have a proper second breakfast.

bronze · 03/11/2009 09:49

I still swear bu hemp oil for eczema

fireplaces we have one of these not amazingly attractive but we use our fireplave a lot so its very practical. We have a normal smaller fireguard inside it to stop the fire spitting

Trista- he is an arse of the highest order. I feel for you

Nias lump on her neck was avaian tb. she has a follow up appointment next week and another scan the week after. She'll be under the hospital for months yet

Maybe I need to start giving Izy breakfast. Hes not interested in being fed and I'm so running out of ideas for things to give him. I do remember the bonuses of having a dog when weaning though. Had one of my worst nights yet last night though I shouldn't complain, it was a bad as ds1 on a good night

Swaliswan · 03/11/2009 10:23

Nipping in quickly. Can anyone do me a quick catch up from friday?

dawntigga · 03/11/2009 10:32

swali well, after Friday came Saturday, closely followed by Sunday, Monday and today

BWAhahahahaI'mFunnyReallyTigga

Swaliswan · 03/11/2009 10:56
Angry
NuttSlasher · 03/11/2009 11:03

oh god

i thought i would be ok, the divorce papers arrived today.it hurts so fucking much god i thought i was prepared for it but the lies, my god i feel like i've been shot

fuck, what the fuck am i going to do

kingbangwoosh23 · 03/11/2009 11:19

Nutty, the thing to do is whilst felling like someone has shot you, the thing that will repair that hole os realising you never have to deal with those lies once the divorce is finally settled, you life is yours and your kids...the lies will stay in the divorce proceedings, and not in your day-to-day life and that you are now truely free to find either someone who deserves your love or to do whatever the blimming hell you want to!!!

How come there are such a load of arses in our lives???

Heres sending all of you chocolate, hugs and bottles of wine to drink when you feel fit....
