Hi, Welcome to the new thread, the one where we can't drink a cup of tea in peace (there you go, we could have used that for a title!!)

I was in bodyshop yesterday and M trashed the place. Luckily the sales assistant thought she was sweet as she pulled things off displays and legged it out the shop with jars of body butter (several times)!!, cue me legging it after her with a handful of makeup . Luckily there were no store detectives aroud. She also tried to wear every shoe within her reach at the shoe shop.

Now that it's sunk in a bit more I'm as annoyed at the solicitor for emailing and not phoning me as I am at our buyers.

Went to an intersting talk at our church tonight about assisted suicide and has made me think I should be greatful we're all heathly. Oh and that our house hasn't flooded!

Poor ds1 was even upset that we won't be moved for Christmas now.

I hate estate agents. I really do. I dread the next time I have to deal with them specifically because they're soo bad at their own jobs and still demand to be paid.

DebiTheScot · 25/11/2009 08:43

I am NOT having any more babies. Or at least I don't plan to and neither does dh.

eandz it seems that at the moment the estate agent hasn't done anything wrong. How he deals with things from now is the test.

Debs75 · 25/11/2009 08:49

Becaroo Yes she is fine now. She seemed to get better overnight, she woke last Weds, wasn't sick and was moving around and talking and playing with her toys. By the next day she was eating as normal.

Meglet really at you exP. Let hime demand a paternity test, when it comes back positive he will have to pay and they are really expensive. Maybe knowing it is going to cost him over a grand will shut him up

mamamuffin · 25/11/2009 12:06

Congratulations bogie I cant imagine having another baby so soon.....but then again mamamuffin might be getting a bit broody!

So sorry to hear about the house sale debi

I am at your ex meg Take him for all hes got I say.

eandz that name is bizar! I ve never heard of it but like it. Why wont you use it as a first name.

Its blowwwwy today in the East xx

Debs75 · 25/11/2009 12:38

Robyn did the most massive poo this morning, it was the size of a golf ball and quite hard. She was almost sick she strained so hard. She was starving at dinner tho.
TMI I know but we do share everything

Eandz Love Balthazar

Meglet · 25/11/2009 16:01

foxy actually, XP's behaviour does make him sound like he's on steroids. He is huge, but not a fitness freak, I'm sure he doesn't go to the gym. I do wonder if he does coke, its pretty rampant round here and maybe he's kept it well hidden from me and just does it socially, but it would still throw him out of balance mentally.

digi oooo, X-factor gossip, thank you!

eandz I think its quite common to feel crap around other mums with a first baby. 3 years ago I nearly stopped meeting with the mums from my ante-natal classes because ds constantly cried and their babies just gurgled, I used to come home and cry. Now we've all had our second kids we're more open about what we're dealing with, household chaos, annoying DH's, sibling rivarly. I bumped into one lady last week who was wondering if anyone wanted to adopt her DC1 as he was drving her up the wall. Sorry to hear N is having a problem with food, he's still so young that there is plenty of time for it to change.

becaroo hope Toby is feeling a bit better, you've had a crap time of it haven't you .

I'm off sick today, last night I was knocked for sick with a d+v bug. Mum got the children to nursery so I've been napping all day. Just had some water and a stale rice cake and it's stayed down. This is what happens when you wish you could lose the last bit of baby weight so you can buy a nice dress for xmas!

debs do they really cost that much! That's hilarious, I'll tell him to get it booked!

becaroo · 25/11/2009 16:50

meglet I know what you mean...I have lost a stone in weight over the past 6 weeks Your XP is getting madder by the minute (if you dont mind me saying that!!!) Let him get a Paternity test, then let him pay for his childrens upkeep like any other decent father. What an arsehole I am so sorry you have to put up with this. hope you feel better soon...I had it on sunday/monday and its not pleasant.

Toby is still pretty ill. Doc came out again this afternoon and is phoning after surgery is over tonight and coming again tomorrow afternoon. Just cant get enough liquid into him to counter the bad diahorrea. He is dehydrated but keeps spitting the dioralyte out even when I syringe it in His poos today have been hideous - 7 at last count - how do I keep him out of A&E?????????

Really feeling very fed up and tired and ill. Should just stop moaning and get on with it, I guess!!!

Meglet · 25/11/2009 17:16

for Toby. Poor little mite. The gp sounds good though, at least he can keep an eye on him with daily visits. And you are totally entitled to moan! I'm trying to drink some dioralyte now, I don't blame toby for spitting it out, its a bit yuck. My rice cake banquet has stayed down so whatever it was has gone, but I feel pretty fragile. Mum is helping with the dc's bath night so I can relax later.

Yes, XP is as mad as a box of frogs!

eandz · 25/11/2009 20:16

Meglet

I come defend you next tine he's around...k? i've got a lot of anger and i think i need to fight something.

DebiTheScot · 25/11/2009 20:25

Poor Toby Hope he picks up soon, sounds quite scary.

And poor you Meglet too.

eandz · 25/11/2009 20:39

debithescot

i just dislike estate agents because our lease is ending and we have to find another place for feb. i just don't like the way all the agents we talk to keep trying to get us to raise our budget. when i know there are perfectly decent places going for well below.

Debs75 · 26/11/2009 08:32

You know the cow and gate ad where they say you need 20 litres of cows milk to get the recommended 6mg of iron?
It really annoys me and makes me
How much iron are they getting from breast milk?

Meglet · 26/11/2009 13:46

debs I always take those formula ads with a pinch of salt, I suspect they bend the rules as much as they can get away with. Not sure about iron from breastmilk, someone, somewhere must have measured it though. I tend to feed my dc's with lots of cottage pie, green veg, orange juice and vit supplements to keep their levels up.

My stomach bug has gone now, hurray! Still in my pj's though and I could do with a shower . I just called the CSA and they confirmed they will be taking money from XP in the near future as it was all going through the system and they had had confirmation of his earnings from his employer so he can't get out of it now.

DD is such a snotty baby, she coughs so hard to clear her through that she is sick a few times a day and she gets nose bleeds at night as her nose is full of gunk . The gp I saw the other week just said it was a cold, fair enough, but it went on all last winter and I can see the same thing happening this year. I need to make an apt with our usual GP who is lovely and will take it more seriously, I think she could do with a visit to the ENT dept to get checked out.

I'm off to have a much needed snack now! I'm famished.

Debs75 · 26/11/2009 14:23

I agree you shouldn't treat them as gospel but it isn't very balanced. I really hate the one where it is saying our formula will make your baby walk or crawl to you, really does that mean your baby won't walk without your disgusting tasting milk.
I know I know it is only advertising and I shouldn't believe all I see but they really get me annoyed.

Okay rant over.

Glad you are feeling better Meglet. I would definitely get her checked out, a cold shouldn't lastr all season, although my can. I have asthma and all year round hayfever so I don't get many 'cold free' days during the winter.

Meglet · 26/11/2009 14:36

My most annoying ad is that Pampers one which goes something along the lines of 'if you baby sleeps well they will learn more during the day and generally grow up a better person' . Irritates the life out of me.

becaroo · 26/11/2009 16:59

Hi meglet Glad you are feeling better. Its a nasty bug alright. I managed to get a glass of the blackcurrant dioralyte down but it was so foul I then switched to coke!!!!! Would definately get your dd checked out - poor thing. Colds are horrid.

Toby has been seen again today and although he was sick again and has had diahorrea again he seems a bit perkier although now he seems feverish....just doesnt seem any end in sight at the moment!!

Also, Dh and I really not getting on at the moment (long, long story involving PIL and SIL and me being "nasty" apparently) which doesnt help, and ds1 being very clingy which means that although I still feel pretty bad I am having to do the school run every morning despite my mum beign here to help or he gets so upset

Will be glad when this weeks over....

mamamuffin · 26/11/2009 17:58

Just checking in to do a catch up. Hope all the poorly ladies abd babies are feeling better soon xxx

notcitrus · 26/11/2009 19:25

Meglet Pampers annoy the crap out of me because they promise 12 hours of 'golden sleep' yet A still wakes up because he's soggy in one of them. After various experiments I find a Pampers plus a Motherease nappywrap to hold it in place even once it's heavy with wee works the best.

Hope you and DH make up soon becaroo.

A and I go to the dentist tomorrow morning - hope he's nice. He's the dad of my previous lovely dentist so should be OK.

Meglet · 26/11/2009 20:46

I think I've managed a productive day today after being on my sick bed yesterday. Applied for a local job this morning (won't get it, but need to grit my teeth and get in the habit of applying) and dad popped round at tea time to help out so I could get organised for tomorrow. It's never ending now I'm at work, the dc's are fighting for my attention and ds's potty training is never going to happen while we only have weekends to do it . I have a week off in January so I'm going to try again then.

notcitrus DS is on sainsburys own for night times these days, pampers just wouldn't hold his wee. DD is still ok with them but I should probably save my money and stick her in sainsburys too.

Hopefully · 26/11/2009 21:08

Just checking in! Gosh what a lot of developments...

Congrats Bogie! lovely to see you back Eandz.

All going well here, although T is on hunger strike . He had a sickness bug on Sunday and has nothing but milk since. He FINALLY managed a few spoonfuls of porridge today, which was a relief. He was perfectly happy, just didn't want to eat anything. This is the baby that was eating practically the same amount as I was two weeks ago. Double

Still managing to keep T in reusables overnight, but they are stuffed to within an inch of their lives to keep them OK.

Getting quite excited about TTC in a month or so....

digitalgirl · 26/11/2009 23:39

Been following on iPhone but Takes so long to post replies I give up halfway thru and have to get on with something else.

Congrats to bogie how far along are you?

Sorry to hear about poorly babies and poorly ladies and rubbish xh's. It just seems to be the season for it.

Well I have a little bit of good news. I have been offered a job. Starts mid-January and will be 4 days a week on a good wage (but obviously not as lucrative as freelancing). It's only contract, so will be in sim position if I do manage to get pregnant over the next ten months but at least I've got a guaranteed income for the foreseeable.

Think we might be able to afford a day or two (at a push) in nursery. So can hopefully get that sorted over the next 7 weeks.

What are peoples opinions of nurseries compared to childminders compared to nannies?

Do you think childminders offer the same level of care and attention to your child as a nanny does it's just they charge less because they work in their own home? Or do you think there is a big difference to the kind of day your child has?

Well, that was a great nights sleep . After hours of snotty grizzling and spluttering I finally managed to settle DD at 12:30am and I woke up at 5:30. God help the people who took Medised off the market for young children, they can hold her upright all night if it happens again. I can't even get an apt with our lovely gp for 3 weeks so we'll have to muddle through with her snotty-ness until then.

I have a review at work today, I predict a full on meltdown. There's some work I could do from the local office for a few days which would take the pressure off (bashing out data entry to clear old paperwork) but I bet they won't let me do it. So much for family friendly + flexible working!

dg my 2 are at a lovely nursery. The costs are eye- watering, my mum helps with the money. I do like the fact they get a lot of individual attention at nursery, if either of them are upset at drop off time they get cuddled and quiet time with one member of staff as the other staff in the room are able to sing songs do messy play with a few children at a time. I think low staff turnover is one of the better things to look for, there is a nice mix of older women and young girls, and 2 lads at their nursery. TBH its like dropping them off with a load of aunties + big sisters .

Ooops, spent too much time on this. Better get ready for work and gets the dc's up, I hate waking them up when they need to sleep .
