Oh go on then.

I'm rubbish at titles though but I bow down to Oli's cakes and supermum.

Mmmm I'd love a bath. Dh had one last night so maybe my turn tonight

Dd had a check up at the hospital today, clinic running an hour late, fun fun! It looks ok but all red and weeping She was red from the sticky on the dressing too so now has a big pad of gauze held on with micropore.

And talk of the devil I hear chatter coming from upstairs....

jabberwocky · 27/11/2009 16:11

Have not had anything but showers since we moved into the new house. Dh finally turned off the extra water heater to my big tub since I never found time to use it

Indith, do you have an aloe vera plant? The fresh stuff is best for burns.

EVye · 27/11/2009 20:02

Indith - dont beat yourself up. DD2 has fallen off DD1s highsleeper bed in the past and I fell down the stairs with both of them. Accidents happen.

Hope you're all ok.

jabberwocky · 29/11/2009 21:11

Have not had a very good couple of days A couple of anxiety attacks and some dark moments that scared dh...

I think it's time to see about a different AD. I've heard that it can be necessary to "tweak" the Rx every now and then and I've been on the same one since ds1 was 6 months old.

Hope everyone else is doing better.

Indith · 30/11/2009 16:23

Time to visit the Dr pronto Jabber, hope things improve.

Dd had her dressing changed today, healing well and shouldn't scar

We went to the North Pole yesterday on the local steam railway. Horrible weather and very cold but ds loved it, he had a little chat with Father Christmas and suddenly seems to have cottoned on to the whole Christmas, presents, toys idea

Olihan · 30/11/2009 21:27

Glad dd is healing well, Indith. Will add my sympathies to everyone else's, it was an accident, don't beat yourself up .

Jabber, sounds like a trip to the doc is due, did you manage to get there today? ((hugs)) for you, it's a rotten illness.

Eli, bath sounds like a good idea. I might join you .

jabberwocky · 01/12/2009 01:16

Good news about dd, Indith.

I called today to set up an appointment. Waiting to hear back but had a better day anyway. Isn't that always how it goes? THen you start to wonder how you got worked up into such a state before

Indith · 01/12/2009 08:24

Just to add to my general stress etc yesterday I had a massive panic attack trying to get out of the very full church carpark after going to get a folder from the Scout Hut (that wasn't even in the cupboard ) and managed to scrape all down the side of the car. Apparently stone churches and car paintwork do not go well together.

A little bit of nostalgia

I wonder how all those who left us are getting on. Especially Mardy and Hester, still think of her from time to time.

Aahhh, Indith

Who would believe they were so tiny once?

I think about Hester especially, from time to time.

Jabber, well done on getting apt request in - no matter if you feel better, that just shows you've done the right thing.

As for baths...I did get into one, but five seconds later dh yelled 'there's something wrong with dd2!!!' so I leapt out in a panic, expecting to have to resusscitate her, only to find she was howling due to a nightmare. So that was that

On the plus side though, after stressing about this weird pain in my side all week, I not only saw the gastroenterologist last night, but threw in a gynae for good measure, and had a whole MOT....and not only is all well, but I do not need a colonoscopy at this point and its probably being caused by my intractable back: yeay! I can deal with that. Fantasies about ovarian cancer, I cannot deal with at all.

So I celebrated with a large curry and inevitably feel dreadful today, but happy.

Elibean · 01/12/2009 14:42

Just noticed your post below, Indith (sorry, was rushing) - good re dd and healing, but horrid for you to have the encounter with the church cement. Hope you didn't give yoruself a hard time about that one....even my ultra in control friend took out someone's gate post when tired and stressed with two young ones on board: its an occupational hazard, I think.

MaHumbug · 01/12/2009 18:46

Indith, you missed me out.

Margo - Olivia 12/12 7lb 12oz

MaHumbug · 01/12/2009 18:47

Sorry for the absense. Heater breakdown. No water or heazting for the past weeka nd a half.

accessorizequeen · 01/12/2009 20:07

Hi, Margo, god that sounds horrible just as the cold weather hit! Are you all sorted now?

Indith, glad dd better

castles, are you doing any better? Will email.

eli for no bath (men! dp did this to me every time when all of the lo's were newborns) but for no colonoscopy!

jabber, hope the dr appt brings some help for you.

I started taking ad's a couple of days ago, hope I'll feel much better in a few weeks. Are they helping you Oli?

how is everyone else, you're all v.quiet. I assume it's the madness of end of term/christmas/birthdays? It is for me certainly. Wrapped massive load sunday night and promptly dumped it at mums Now I have to do my photo calendars whilst there's 1/3 off!

Olihan · 01/12/2009 20:19

Starting to AQ, back to docs on fri for follow up appt but thinking I may need to up the dose for them to have full effect.

MaHumbug · 01/12/2009 20:46

AQ - still not sorted. I've not taken my coat off since I went to pick up dd1 from school.

castlesintheair · 02/12/2009 11:31

Am back on form here partly due to ordering more Relora and remembering to take them . Think that explains my massive relapse of 2 weeks ago Can I recommend them to anyone who suffers from anxiety - Indith?? anyone else particularly if you are reluctant to take ADs they are just brilliant and I have tried everything including ADs, St Johns W, homeopathic stuff. Someone on the anxiety club thread on here recommended them. I get them from Healthy Monthly I think but can check if you are interested. No side effects (herbal). Also help you sleep better, if you get the chance .

Sorry about the cold MaHumbug. How awful.

AQ, Oli, Jabber, here's to a rosy Xmas run-up

Indith · 02/12/2009 13:11

Ooops sorry to miss you out Ma, it was copied and pasted from the first post natal thread.

Brrrrr to the lack of heating, I shall feel terrible if I rant about my heating issues now! At least it works (in a slightly uncontrollable way.)

Castles, Oli, AQ, glad things are on the up. Castles I shall keep them in mind but I have never had panic attacks before, I think I was just generally stressed, tense, tired etc.

Ds is shattered today, he was up several times last night for some unknown reason. Typically dd did the best night she has done in ages. Both asleep now after a very early lunch!

OP posts:
jabberwocky · 02/12/2009 14:15

brrrr, margo! I hope it gets fixed soon. We have a very cold rain today and I still haven't gotten my early fall to winter clothes switch done Am off to rummage around for something warm to wear to take ds2 to gymnastics.

castlesintheair · 02/12/2009 16:29

Sorry Indith, thought you posted recently that you were thinking about ADs/feeling stressed/anxious. Must have got you muddled up with someone else.

The weather is really weird here: freezing one minute, monsoon like rain the next.

MaHumbug · 02/12/2009 20:42

My Godmother MSN'd me yesterday with lots of sympathy. She said it was snowing where she lives(in Canada). Ireckon she felt colder than me.

accessorizequeen · 02/12/2009 22:26

So glad you're feeling better, castles, haven't come across relora but will look it up. I am a very anxious, stressed individual at the moment.
oli, I remember upping the dose before, takes a while to get it right but worth it if you feel better for xmas etc.
Oh margo, really hope it gets fixed soon!
indith, hope dd still healing, heating becomes controllable & your sleep saga eventually comes to an end..
lovely to see the list of everyone, a few really stick in my mind like judemum, sad we're down to a few now.
Now lennied is not to say anything but I have managed to do nearly all my buying/wrapping so far. Quite pleased although I've just about killed myself (and bank balance eeek, dp says we can't move now). Has taken me 3 solid hours to finish off stupid calendars for family, but they do look fab. Had to count up how many of each child as I know ds1 would do it for me if I wasn't scrupulously fair.

castlesintheair · 03/12/2009 12:47

AQ, judemum always sticks in my mind too! She used to make me laugh.
AQ, I think you have to be careful about taking Relora with any prescription drugs but useful for when you come off the ADs.

I know it has been asked already but what is everyone getting their 3 (or nearly 3) year old girls for Xmas? DD2 has just had her 3rd birthday and I am stuck. I really want to avoid more crap toys if possible. Ideas please!!!

Am also almost complete buying wise helped enormously by winning the Girls Night In (seemed to be all ages and both sexes ) Hamper at the school Xmas party on Friday

EVye · 03/12/2009 12:54

Hi everyone

Castles - DD2 is getting playmobil and a dolls bunkbed from ELC.

Indith · 03/12/2009 12:59

No Castles you are right, I have been thinking of getting to the GP for a good chat (in fact I have an appointment on Monday) just not really linked anxiety and PND I suppose.

I have not finished Christmas at all, must have a good goo at things this weekend! Dh is out tonight so providing dd behaves herself (unlikely, she has been up a couple of times an evening lately and often refusingto go back to sleep so ends up coming down t play for a bit before the nighttime saga) I am going to write the cards and at least get something out of the way!

I am cold (sorry Ma) as we were out all morning so we've had no heating on yet. The fire is on but hasn't heated the tank yet so the radiators are not on. I need the bloody thing to be fixed so I can load it up with fuel for 12 hours and ignore it/go out etc. Currently have to feed it small scoops of fuel on a regular basis so no heat at night, no embers left to light the fire first thing and get heat back on when we get up and coming home to a freezing house when we go out (well ok not too bad really as it is quite well insulated but it snowed the other day while we were out, was cold when I got home!)
