There will be chocolate fines for the guilty!

Bicnod - I think cream then jam then cream could be an ideal solution! I think we should all adopt this new system. A Fanjoshire Cream Tea!

On second thoughts...

Hmmm...

Don't think about that too much!

ps mrsgboring, please tell me once and for all - can a baby face outwards in a mei tai? I can't seem to find a definite answer, and there is no way on earth Orbit will accept not being able to look out in front. He's the nosiest baby in the world.

Guimauve · 03/09/2009 11:29

I'd got the impression that forwards-facing on the front was A Bad Thing for their spine/ posture, unless their legs are up-tucked Buddha style. I don't know where I got this from. H would much prefer to be forwards facing, but it'll be a while before I have the nerve to try and get him into a back carry!

oh crapsticks. Oscar seems to have forgotten how to nap without being rocked completely to sleep. In fact, he seems to have forgotten how to sleep altogether. ANd how to suck his thumb. He's currently lying in his cot screeching and mithering... I'm hoping its a preamble to napping but I think that's unlikely

I think I'm going to have to indulge in some custard as part of my not so healthy diet and lifestyle - if in doubt, eat.

Mithering swiftly moving to crying... better go and rescue him

bronze · 03/09/2009 12:15

wfh- of cleaner

Guimauve · 03/09/2009 12:21

I had 'nanas and custard as part of my healthy diet yesterday. I spilled custard all over H Don't worry, it wasn't hot!

i'm going to have mandarin oranges and custard... its kind of like trifle but MUCH faster... mmmmmmmmmmm

WhatFreshHellIsThis · 03/09/2009 14:49

Bicnod Orbit has just been sick on your parcel! Luckily only the outside...

Swaliswan · 03/09/2009 14:50

Ooooooooooo, I've just discovered Bathroom Power. My bathroom is all sparkly

I'm getting really worried that the doctor isn't going to tell me that I'm being silly and that there is something wrong with my precious, little baby. She is all puffy round her face now I keep telling myself that her little body is busy fighting off bugs and nothing is actually wrong.

Feierabend · 03/09/2009 15:01

I am the queen of light packing! I have managed to pack all mine, DD1's and H's clothes, including sleeping bags, into one suitcase. A large one, admittedly. But still. Chocolate Hobnobs here I come!

Feierabend · 03/09/2009 15:02

Swali, Viakal is good for sparkly bathrooms.

Really hope little B is okay!

I also really hope that the washing machine and dryer in our holiday cottage will work, otherwise we're stuffed!

gingersarah · 03/09/2009 15:06

Whatfreshhell - what about this?

www.youtube.com/watch?v=ImVPQLxq2Y4

I wear V on my front facing me, but she can look all around from that position anyway - she only rests her head inwards on my chest when she is asleep.

WhatFreshHellIsThis · 03/09/2009 15:13

Thanks gingersarah - I think Orbit is too small for the back carry, and he simply won't tolerate the front facing inwards. If you pick him up and hold him like that, he twists round immediately and starts crying if you won't turn him round! He likes the Kari Me facing forwards but he's getting a bit heavy for it.

kazkiss · 03/09/2009 15:31

swali, i am sure she is fine and like you said she is all puffy cos she is bug busting!!!

I was talking to my mum the other day cos she said she ended up taking my brother to the hospital when he was little cos his face all swelled up and he had a rash. And he just turned out to be teething REALLY badly.

So there are lots of reasons for puffiness so try not to worry. ( easier said than done)

Take care, let us know how you get on

[hugs]

bronze · 03/09/2009 16:54

If Izs not too tired I wear in on my front facing fowards like this

other wise I carry him like this

bebemoo · 03/09/2009 16:59

hi ladies; back from a mini break in Reading where the hotel room seemed to block wifi access and was not about to pay 25quid for one days worth.

Hope to catch up (probably tomorrow) when Moo lets me get to it...She's been very needy lately...

Swaliswan · 03/09/2009 18:19

Well, the doctor said that it felt like fluid on B's head/neck rather than glands so we're back on monday for another check...

kazkiss · 03/09/2009 18:36

oooh have that told you what to do with her in the meantime. Have they said what they think might be causing it?

dawntigga · 03/09/2009 18:39

Waves to all from the snot fest that is our home.

SnottyTiggaxx

Bicnod · 03/09/2009 18:48

Oh Swali - really hope B is ok. Sending big hugs.

WFH - LOL well done Orbit

Bebe - welcome back... Oscar is very needy at the moment as well. He is permanently in danger of being thrown out of the window.

Right, off to eat more food - the diet starts after Cornwall so got to get it all in now

Swaliswan · 03/09/2009 18:53

Kaz, they said to keep an eye and didn't say much else. I didn't want to ask what it might be but I think it's just from her being poorly.

kazkiss · 03/09/2009 18:58

yeah sounds like it hun. if they thought it was anything more serious they would have sent her up to the hospital. So let that reassue you. Try not to worry too much over the weekend. sounds like she needs calpol and lots of cuddles!! (always makes me feel better!)

bebemoo · 03/09/2009 19:07

"He is permanently in danger of being thrown out of the window."

...add an 'S' at the very beginning of that sentence and you've got my sentiments exactly too... sigh I've put the screaming pinching toddler wanna be in her bed before I consider such propositions more seriously. I don't know how you mums with more and absent husbands manage!

I think it might be a calpol take her away night...

bebemoo · 03/09/2009 19:14

Just realised I have 300 posts to get through... sigh...I'm just not up to that with a screaming Moo a floor above...sigh...
would it be horrible unreasonable of me to drive all the way back to reading and drop Moo off at dh's room and then drive all the way back here to get some of my own sleep?

BoffinMum · 03/09/2009 19:29

Gui, I have this dress if you'd like it. It wold just need the front hem taking up a bit.

This one in dark brown

Auld, I have just emailed you.

Update: Felix had baby porridge this morning sand sweet potato with us at dinner. He just gobbles it all down, smiling.
