dizzy HOORAY A lovely baby girl, I bet she smells delicious. Happy news.

VG you are right, of course, it's one thing to feel all these things and another to take them by the balls and actually do something. Anyway, after all my moaning over the last 24 hours DS and I have had a wonderful day: met DP in town to book our wedding (!!!), went to Monsoon to stroke the wedding dresses see if they had a particular thing in stock, then I took the boy to soft play and met my friend whose son is also going through teething hell. The boys had a fab time and us mums exchanged healing chat.

My beautiful boy is now apparently asleep, which is a massive improvement on yesterday, and I have an enormous glass of wine, likewise.

You're especially right about needing time out with DP. We've been muttering about getting a babysitter at some point, I think that point is now. Just an evening down the pub would be a start And I have my best friend's birthday night out in London next weekend to look forward to...god, I can't wait.

Here endeth the sermon of me.

alittlebitshy · 08/09/2009 19:39

well, managed to read today's posts. that's a start!

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 08/09/2009 19:45

cyteen I love Monsoon.

Me and dh still need to get out.
Ds has turned one and we still have only been out once when he was very small.

My dsis and stepmum have offered to have them both for a weekend so we could have a break somewhere.
I would love to go to Jersey, we went for our first honeymoon. I am just not in the right place/frame of mind atm though.
Have nothing to wear, bras don't even fit, feel crap etc.....I have a hair dye which has been sat in bathroom cupboard for weeks.
I know I need to make the effort though.
Dh is also wanting to buy a caravan so might not be any spare cash to go away. He is just being tight careful

Dsis partner proposed while they were away and they are tempted to get married in Cyprus next year as they loved it so much.
dh saving for a caravan b;ah blah

OOh listen to me moan

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 08/09/2009 19:47

That was meant to be for possibly missing my dsis big day. Not she getting wed.

ds wailing back later.

lol at the advice. Drunken sex does sound good.

VG dh holds th epurse strings unfortunatley. Although we both have a credit card which all food, petrol, etc goes on and dh pays it all off every month when he gets paid.

Oh to be financially independant.

ds now settled have administered teetha powder and neurofen, really wnated to give gripe water, snuffle babe too, but thought that may be a bit much.

cyteen · 08/09/2009 20:15

The way I'm going, drunken sex could be on the cards tonight

cyteen · 08/09/2009 20:18

Forgot to say, this is where we're getting married next year and here is a picture of the actual hall.

poppysocks · 08/09/2009 20:21

Congratulations auntie dizzy! Have spent the entire day being interrupted as I try to text you for news and good luck.

The balm of wine sounds a good way to ease away the last few days cyteen. I'm assuming it's tooth traumas we've had here too. Dribbling like a St Bernard, grumpy as hell and bright red bottom, poor mite.

Can't believe your self-restraint re: testing no1! (Great to have you back btw ). I also really can't believe all the risks these another-child-phobic DHs are . But then DD1 was a product of just such denial...

Hey poppy I agree. Dh was so against it. Surely we he should have been more careful.
I told him this morning I was 5 days late and his eyes sort of bulged a bit.
Then he said oh, well should we wait a week and see.

Despite the time not being right (but when is) neither of us could even comtemplate the 'other' option.

How can we complain anyway when it was bound to happen with his reliable technique.
I have just done the ovulation thing and it looks like the day we 'did' it was on the last day of my most fertile.

I am going with what vg said though for now, body could still be settling down etc..

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 08/09/2009 20:34

x post.
cyteen that does look lovely.
The hall looks very atmospheric. I love places like that.
when is the big day then??

vg LOl I will try that one.
for ds lump/fall
Hope he is ok. Ds threw himself fell in a tantrum at sisters and banged just underneath his eye, he has a very colourful looking bruise, a huge gashon eyelid from dd hitting him with the a large Duplo lego peice.
A big scratch/scab on his nose from dd grabbing his face, and several marks on his back where she tried to pick him up off the floor today with her claws hands. Poor little man looks in the wars and I feel just terrible about it. I don't even leave them to makle a cuppa, it all happens so quickly under my nose. I am such an idiot not to see it coming.
I must get some of this Arnica stuff.
What have I bred here??

Evenin'

VG - I knew what hoolie meant I think they were implying that she was behaving a bit like a leery drunk at a hoolie I did have to explain to MIL what a hoolie was but she still thinks DD hoolies when we let her out to run e.g. tonight she opened our back door and said in her loudest voice 'let DD out to hoolie for a bit' - our Irish neighbour appeared at the upstairs winodw next door to see what she was on about. Am expecting a call from SS soon

Dizzy - congrats on the new Dniece.

Cyteen - what a lovely place. I saw a dress today and thought of you - will see if I can find a link to the shop for you.

wonders off to look for link.......

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 08/09/2009 20:38

Lol sazz I was also on 'strike' but just once, just once is all it takes.
Sorry to here work was shite do you want to talk about it?

oopsacoconut · 08/09/2009 20:39

yteen here it is in evening dresses, second page, dress called daquiri. The shop had it in midnight blue which was stunning.

Hi No1 - welcome back

dizzydixies · 08/09/2009 20:40

apologies for utter unashamed REEK of garlic - tis all me

thank you all for congrats - heading through to sniff see her on Sat

cyteen · 08/09/2009 20:41

no1 Sep 25th for us, so lots of time to get overexcited plan

lol at your DH's eye bulge. He's only himself to blame! Sorry to hear of poor M being all bashed up though. Truly we have entered the time of physical damage; DS had his bloodied mouth last night, plus he is constantly sprouting bruises now from all the face-first exploring he is doing. Sometimes he does a proper smack on the floor that I think is going to spark off meltdown yet barely seems to feel it. Not all the time though...the awesome power of the mummy cuddle doesn't half get tested with newly-mobile babies, eh?

oopsacoconut · 08/09/2009 20:41

Hi Sazz - sorry to hear abou crap day - want to tell us about it?

That should be Cyteen

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 08/09/2009 20:41

I should be ironing, I am sure it has warmed up now.
I hardly ever do it, and it does not take that long if I just get on with it.
I cannot move my lard ass tonight though.
A have just tripped over a huge roll of Astro lawn turf, which is rolled up ina bag in my hall/stairs.
Like it is not big enough to see.
One of dh's bright ideas.

That place looks gorgeous cyteen. We had our post-wedding party (nuptials v. small and in Italy) in a similar place that was also council run. People were so surprised that it was so nice and it had the bonus of being disabled friendly, well-stocked etc. and yet a decent price. Assume you're not talking about 25th Sept this year .

Sorry to hear about all the bashed up babes around at the mo. DD2 has grasped this whole walking malarky much faster than DD1 did and only seems to stumble when she has stuff lying around on the floor to contend with. So she's tumbling rather more than she should do...

poppysocks · 08/09/2009 21:21

Sory sazzles x-posted there. Fingers, toes and vibes all at your disposal
